I have a bad feeling that the war on conspiracy theorists has begun (or at least has been ramped up)

Lets face facts. Conspiracy theorists are a VERY big thorn in the side of anyone with political or monetary power. We scrutinize almost EVERY major story that could possibly be untrue (and rightfully so). What I'm expecting from the latest fiasco (OBL's death) is a full on information war.

IMHO we are the second front to the 'war on terror'. I'm expecting things to kick into high gear now, to silence anyone with an opposing point of view.

One thing that I'm concerned about is the possibility (or possible outright reality) that this current event could be used to group individuals and possibly single people out. It really seems that TPTB (through MSM) may be falsely creating stories to 'out' anyone who may have an alternative view just so they can create a list.

Call me paranoid or label me as whatever you want, I think this is totally plausible. To be completely honest though I must add that we could possibly be part of a preconceived plan to allow the further degradation of truth (even though the truth is what most of us are after). If one looks at it logically, most conspiracy theorists have very little power and perhaps a possible goal would be to get a greater part of the population to think the same. However as long as we can provide evidence this WILL backfire on them.

To the elite, there MUST be value in labeling many people as conspiracy theorists as this label is frowned upon by many.

Hopefully, people would see through that and join the rest of us here on ATS

We are in the Age of Information. Get ready for war in this age! Conspiracy theorists, for all intensive purposes, are the enemy. The question I have is how far are the elite willing to go to protect themselves from all the non-believers and protect all their elite B.S.

The breaking news that OBL's death and the fact that the evidence of it will not come out because conspiracy circles would doubt it anyway (or that they are to graphic for the public or that kids would see them) can be seen as possible future policy. Anyone who follows conspiracies could see why this may become future policy.

We are making a difference and it's costing us more then we know.

I'll second that motion....

They've actually said as much in various press releases....

I hate to say it but it's making me evaluate pretty strongly what I will and won't say regarding the subject pretty strongly.

Uh huh. We have that feeling too...

I've never heard the words "Conspiracy Theorists" uttered so much on T.V until recently.

Conspiracy Theories Under Attack By The Mainstream News.

The 5 craziest conspiracy theories on bin Laden’s death

Warning: A Conspiracy Against Conspiracy Theorists

Daily Show Ridiculing both Pakistan and Conspiracy Theorists

And to top it all off, we have this idiocy resurfacing again. [url=http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread698091/pg1 Believing In Conspiracy Theories Is A Form Of Psychosis[/url]

Yea I was just commenting about that today. How many news reports used the term "conspiracy theorist" as a negative? I think the ptb are upset at something we said or did
Like something was very close to being on the mark....

Agreed. It's as though we are considered unpatriotic because we don't eat up everything they tell us.

So you're saying you've got a theory about a conspiracy against conspiracy theorists?

Exactly ... Do you see how this can be absolutely plausible? I believe that we are being made into the enemy and it's a conspiracy!

I think that this would be the ultimate move by TPTB.

The war on 'us' began a long time ago...you could even skip a century or two and focus on Galileo - promoting the view that the Earth orbits the sun instead of vice versa.
, ect...

That was a big no-go back then, and he paid the ultimate price for it...all the while bringing to light the ignorance of the church and creating a new paradigm - or at least offering a new and profound perspective.

Yep - our Pedigree goes back a long ways, and rightfully so...

I totally get what you're saying here. Part of me thinks though that TPTB love conspiracy theorists. Say we come up with 1,000 crazy ideas, half of which are really true. Because of the half that are wrong, they get to devalue the entire package and therefore devalue anything we get behind.

Yeah ... they love them! So what is the logical thing to do? Create more of them!

What I'm seeing here is the possible completion of '1984'.

One thing I have noticed is both in media and on ATS the idea that the Conspiracy Aware are being called "insane," "crazy," and other such epithets - at a much higher level, both in frequency and in fervor, than I have seen before.

Here on ATS, individuals I suspect of that glorious title, "Shill," are doing this a great deal lately - and these are people I have talked to off and on for a while. Never before has the lot of them been so ardent to insinuate and outright say that We Conspiracy Aware are bat guano crazy.

They never address the issues, of course.

You missed the rest of my thread title. however I can agree with what you've said but what I'm saying is that this whole thing is reaching a peak point where there will be no room for anyone who tries to dissect any OS no matter how outlandish.

I think there's going to be a major increase in the war against those who oppose an official story that can have major repercussions.

Well, yes, technically. It's just that very recently, the Conspiracy Aware are being specifically and vehemently attacked above and beyond the normal stuff. And the label is "Crazy." "Insane." "Whackadoodle." None of which actually fits 99% of Us.

when you watch cnn when this all happened they talk about conspiracy theorists like we are stupid if we don't believe the bull # they provide. How can you believe they really got obl maybe its a distraction.

Yes ... I think so too! the problem is is that those of us who have our head on right are being lumped with those who are WAY out there (sorry if I offended anyone). therefore we considered as one even though this may not be the case.

All of this most definitely adds to the fact that we a considered 'nuts'. Why listen to us? Why care about anything we care about?

Peace,

AS

Well if there is a list, I may have very well made it on there as of today. So to prevent certain scenarios from occurring I would like to express the following:

I, UberL33t, being of sound mind, do not possess, distribute, copy, edit, create any form of pornography illegal or otherwise.

If I am to go down, it will not be for this. I take periodic images of my HD Discs and house them online in a few different places that is not disclosed but to certain individuals in the event of the aforementioned. Take me to jail for something cool, but not that, I am too handsome for jail as it is
, to be thrown in for that would be a tragedy the likes of which I do not want to imagine.

S&F OP ...great message!!

Respectfully,
UberL33t
