His Hawaiian birth certificate has his race listed as African and not Negro

Are you a birth certificate analyst? Do you specialize in birth certificates? I've heard this claim many times before and it holds no ground. In Hawaii the parents had the choice of choosing their race in the 60's to this day, Hawaiian authorities already stated this.

like they did in the Continental 48 states.

You know that states have the power over health certificate, hence the reasons why a birth certificate of one state would look different from others. There are different requirements from state to state.

What's more, Obama senior was not born in the United states, he was a student on a visiting visa from Kenya, he was not directly subjected to racial laws over his birth.

The reason why the Birthers and Baggers say it's fake because it has his race listed as "AFRICAN" and not "NEGRO" as it would've been listed pending he was born in the mainland and that is all that this boils down to.

He lived in the US from birth to 1967 and again from around 1971 to present so he is a legal American citizen. Sr. may've been born in Kenya but that does not mean jack squat as no American citizen by birth is above another.

Do you think the reason why it says African instead of Negro is because Hawaii became a state at the end of the civil rights movement. Terms such as Negro was seen as offensive because they associated the word Negro with the long history of slavery, segregation, and discrimination that treated African Americans as second class citizens, or worse.

The New York Times first used the term African American in a story on April 19,1925. Malcolm X used the term in a speech in 1964. So the term has been around for a long time.

No, only his mother has to be a U.S. citizen. Only one parent at that time had to be a U.S. citizen.

My question to some of these people that think Obama wasn't born in the US is: Does it matter?

Is that where you should focus your energies? Even if it were true... There is evidence of just massive, outlandish fraud that has cost your country trillions of dollars. Should you not focus on wall-streeters and misappropriated funds by government and private contractors...

An Obama birth certificate is not going to get you anything. Uncovering and prosecuting people that have defrauded taxpayers might get you some money back....

Personally, I have many questions about where Obama was actually born. In a sense it does matter. The US Constitution requires that the President be a natural born citizen, so in that sense it does matter. However, the time for that debate is long gone. He is in office now, you can not back track and remove him based on something that should have been dealt with prior to the election. In my opinion it is like being on the school yard and the school bully just walked up and punched you and called you a bad name. Now... do you punch him in his mouth and defend yourself or walk away? If you chose to walk away, but change your mind one month later, can you still argue that you were defending yourself?

That may be a very bad example, but I am hoping people get my point. What's done is done. The argument about where Obama is born is a dead issue. He is almost finished with his first term. We can not go back and undo it, there is no "mulligan". The real focus should be going forward.

If only Obama senior thought about his sons presidency 40 years down the track, he could have all made this easy for him his just put down "negro"!

Why mention Sr. if we are discussing Jr?

Because we were discussing the "race" written down for the father, and the choices parents had in detailing birth certificates under Hawaiian law.

Would it hurt to try???

Actually it would, releasing his long form will only push the birther conspiracy theory further, mainly over the fact the birthers would have no way of authenticating his original birth certificate regardless of whether it was really authentic. In the end birthers will only have their own judgements to make on the original since they and you refuse to believe Hawaiian officials, and quiet frankly, given the other misinformed claims regarding Hawaiian law coming out, the personal judgements of birthers cannot be seen as credible.

So yes, it would hurt to try, it would hurt by wasting time and resources on people who made up their minds a long time ago. So the notion of him releasing his long form birth certificate will end the conspiracy and convince every single birther, that is false.

Odd, for Obama to be a Natural Born Citizen didn't both parents need to be US citizens??

Where does it say this in the constitution. 5 of our presidents were born to 1 foreign born parent.

History lesson for you.

Hawaii became a state in 1959, which is not at the end of the civil rights movement.

Run the arguably most powerful nation on Earth for a couple of years, under constant attack - all while wearing the burden of being the first person from your race to hold the job...

Then see if it harshes your personality a bit.

Just sayin'.

ETA something on topic: I don't see where it would be an issue for somebody to refer to their birthplace and childhood home as simply "childhood home" - the extra mention of birthplace would be more out of place than the statement he gave.

IE if he went out of his way to say it, then people would point THAT fact out and accuse him of overcompensating.

Next question:

Why are you and a few others here frantically trying to save the reputation of a president that is arguably worse than even Carter?

What a BS excuse...
Wasting time and resources??
What, to get one piece of paper??

Many times more time and resources have been WASTED concealing it....

First of all, Carter was a realist and this didn't sit down with the flag waving rightwing that would have us believe america's greed and consumption is sustainable. Considering he left us with a $900 billion debt, and Reagan followed on to leave us with a $2.6 trillion, record breaking government deficits, I would not be so jumpy to wave Carters name around.

Now, regarding why people myself are posting on these threads debunking most of the misinformation? Because this is a conspiracy forum. If people are interested in debating about Reptillians, I'm not going to stop them doing that as this is what this forum is about, I am however going to question their claims. Instead of targeting people personally, why don't you stick with the facts.

Well until the next president comes along, isn't Obama the one with the honor of being in power while the US currently has the largest deficit in world history ??
And hasn't that deficit increased in every month of his reign ??
What an honor it must be for him to serve his masters, the bankers, so well..

Yes it would, because releasing the last piece of paper did not convince any birthers, infact it only inflamed the conspiracy and what we saw were 7 birther bills and 71 lawsuits at the expense of tax payer money. Neither did confirmation from Hawaiian authorities change this cycle.

Many times more time and resources have been WASTED concealing it.

Who wasted resource in concealing the original? Obama does not need to spend any money concealing his records as they are protected in privacy under the constitution. Money is being wasted by birthers who continue to throw lawsuits. Nobody asked them to make that choice, nobody is asking you to throw your support and more tax payer money at these birther bills.

If you believe america tax payer dollars is reasonably spent on right wing politicians pushing birther bills, you really need to review your stand on fiscal conservatism.

Better question:

If Obama is the "worst" president since Carter, then why does so much of the Obama bashing on ATS rely on crap people just made up? Why would anyone latch on to imaginary stories in order to cling to their dislike for anyone?

I know a lot of you try really hard to pretend that Bush never happened. None of you voted for him, none of you supported him, and if we mention his name now, we are shouted down. Well, he did happen and for 8 years my complaints had to do with things he ACTUALLY did and said. I never wasted one moment trying to make the case that Bush should be removed from office because his grandfather was a Nazi collaborator and therefor Bush probably hated America. No one needed to make things up to have problems with the last president.

I have problems with Obama and I find that anyone wasting time with made up claims about lawyers blocking access to his birth certificate just make me think the complainer has no clue what is really happening in the world and cannot come up with any real reasons to spew their hatred.

So yeah...why do so many of you cling to these lies? If Obama is really the worst president, then the birther lies should be at the bottom of the barrel of complaints, no?

This is a conspiracy forum buddy, people have different points of view and you will be called out over where you stand. It is not my problem that you cannot deal with this.

Well no, not the way you and the others here are going on. Demanding obama release his papers because of your personal issues, or making claims that have no legit sources behind them, that is not going to convince me or other folks of Obama's guilt.

If Obama was born in Kenya there should be solid evidence out there. Whining about him listening to your demands is kind of weak you know?

Ohh I can deal with it..
What you can't argue is the simple fact that Obama will NOT prove anyone wrong..
It's his choice to NOT answer the "so called" conspiracy theorists, not mine...

Those with nothing to hide, hide nothing...

Judging by the Obama Governments lack of transparency, I'd say they have plenty to hide.
