It is sheer arrogance to think that the US has the right to appoint itself the policeman of the world.

US does not invade countries to help them, it invades countries to help itself to their wealth and their resources.

US has a policy 'kill for money'. I hate this policy.

US people do not want to be invaded by another country, they think no-one has the right to invade them and steal their wealth, BUT there is still an alarming number of US citizens who think US has the right to invade other countries.

Look at the evidence in Iraq. Do you think the Iraq people feel safer in their country now? Did US ask them if they wanted help against Saddam - oh no, I forgot, that was the excuse which was given AFTER Bush was forced to admit he had LIED to the world about WMD.

US Big pharma is a pharmaceutical terrorist and is poisoning the world. US Government supports them unconditionally. Millions die as a result of US Big Pharma drugs.

US Monesanto is an ecological terrorist and bullies and intimidates all who challenge it's evil agend and it is killing the planet and poisoning our food with its criminal pesticides. Millions are dying as a result of these pesticides, and it is totally destroying the ecosystem.

US Bankers have destroyed the world economy.

Sorry - I don't see too much going on which could be remotely described as 'helping'.

If America is hated, perhaps there is a reason.

Did the Vietnamese want US to invade it and create a living hell for th epeople there for 15 years? Was that helpful? Now they hate US.

Did Afghan people want US to invade? I don't think so. Now they hate US.

etc, etc.

The line that America is the knight in shining armour killing millions for peace is an utter absurdity spewed only by the state controlled propaganda machine known as MSM.

Since obama took over the country America has not defended freedom or democracy, remember Honduras booting out the guy that tried to become their dictator?

Obama and Clinton were all over that and lambasted the Honduras military for defending their constitution against tyranny..

Maybe this is why more and more people hate America? makes sense..

Just sayin'

Yeah, but I really don't see too many threads started on anything bad another country does, only the US.

And if they are, somehow it gets twisted around about how the US must be behind it all.

The "hate" could have something to do with the current, ongoing and never ending mid east insults to humanity credited to "America" or the "US".. terms which are euphemisms... not to be taken literally.

So called anti-US or America topics are generally aimed at a plethora of abhorrent misconduct and dirty deeds.. courtesy of US party "leaders".. get that? "leaders".. right?.. "leaders" (GOP/DNC) have "followers" (republicans & democrat voters)..

...and because the illusion of America tells the world we are the most "free" people on the plant who can vote for our leaders, it's assumed if we didn't agree with their violent bullying.. we'd "vote them out"... thus people "blame America" or "the US".. monikers for those responsible at the GOP & DNC / 'just following orders" US military..

Politicians & troops made enemies by devastating MILLIONS of regular peoples lives.. not me. Many who probably now hate "America" thinking: "American people didn't vote out those responsible, Americans must AGREE & support this atrocity".. Like it was assumed Germans who joined the nazi political party dug hitler making dead jews, wars and buzz bombs.. when it reality many were duped by infamous nazi propaganda/lies as to hitlers true designs or allowed themselves to be blinded by "patriotism".

Hard core LA Kings fans don't blame the entire league because their team is losing, eh?.. they eviscerate specific players, the GM, coach, a goalie.. why? fans have intimate KNOWLEDGE of the team.. but a casual fan will just say "bah, the Kings suck".. people blame what they know, and people blame "America" thinking US citizens being the free ever can kick out war mongering liars... but we CANT.

Only Clinton and Obama? Part of the reason some "hate" America is the blatant partisan nonsense. It is crystal clear that Bush, Bush, and Reagan were worse than Obama and Clinton. This is not to say the latter two are any better. They are all the same.

Pray tell, exactly which human civilization isn't guilty of "bashing" the life out of their environment? Hell, name one human civilization that has ever existed that didn't "bash" their ecosystem into submission, just so their offspring could flourish.

I'm all for conservation, yet I would be the most hypocritical person alive if I damned my ancestors just for ensuring my eventual birth.

Yeah, I was just mentioning them because they are in power now...

The Bushes have done more damage to the United states than all the others combined since JFK was shot and well before that with the grandaddy Bush...

Obama is catching up very fast though... like the character in the movie "Brewster's millions"

...dr jay - if your son was the biggest bully in his school, would you make less of it because there are bullies all over the world?... surely not... wouldnt you be stricter with him because you want him to grow up to have integrity?... its the same with those of us who dont approve of how our government behaves (especially foreign policy)...

I am an American and damn proud of my country.

I also get really annoyed when others bash America---I think a lot of it is jealousy/stupidity/following the crowd.

However, I hate to see how my country has been going downhill. I hate to see my tax dollars give aid to nations that just sh&* on us in return, with other nations mocking us or hating us for stepping in. I think we should take more of an isolationist stance and take care of our problems at home.

That's not why the US 'fights for democracy'. Your compassion for the atrocities merely leads you to believe that. Besides, democracy sucks. Learn some history about what is 'democracy' before you use it against the fallen Republic you blindly defend with your awareness of world problems. If you will, they are counting on this sort of support, albeit silent support, to carry the goodwill banner with them as they kill for freedom, or whatever you call it. They are worse than milosevic. They are silent, hidden, and woven tightly into the pixels of our fabric. Dictators are too easy; you simply overthrow them. This country has enabled them to be in complete control without anyone being responsible for anything.

Oh, yeah, the two cities the US used the Atomic bomb on in 1945.
AFTER the Japanese started the war.

Yes, the military started the war. The civilians in Hiroshima and Nagasaki did not start the war and did not deserve to be vaporized. There is absolutely no excuse for a war crime. Japan started the war with America by attacking a military target; America ended it by obliterating cities full of innocent people

That, in a nutshell, is why so many people in the world have an anti-american streak.

From individuals to elected officials and government policy, there is this utterly asinine attitude that any criticism, any anger, any resentment resulting from American actions or policy MUST be rooted in:

a) jealousy
b) stupidity
c) the bandwagon

..and thus can be dismissed out of hand.

American Interests rule foreign policy - regardless of the implications for the sovereign nations those policies affect. If people are angry that the USA forced their government to sign over their water rights to American-based multinationals in return for an improved credit rating, that is a legitimate cause to be angry. And when Americans write off that anger as irrelevant, without even bothering to understand what has happened, that causes Anti-American sentiment.

People who "bash" America have reason to do so. There are valid reasons. Writing them off in simplistic terms such as "jealousy" or "stupidity" is one reason there is a gaping hole in the ground where the WTC used to be, and it is also one reason why American tourists often get the cold shoulder abroad (whether they realize it or not), or why people burn the US flag in front of embassies, and on and on.

Anti-American sentiment is caused first by the government doing whatever it wants, wherever it wants, second by dismissing opposition wherever it exists as being "counter to American Interests", and finally by classifying all remaining dissent as simple Anti-Americanisim based on stupidity, jealousy, and unthinking bandwagon-jumping.

Get it?

The conviction rate is 99.7%. No private tv or radio stations. Censorship and monitoring of phone calls, texts, faxes and emails. Oh, only one child with a permit 1st though. YOur pregnant without a permit or for a 2nd? Umm let's rip the baby out when you are a week from the due date and cut the child in half while you watch.

I'm so tired of people just spouting off antiChina trash and ignoring facts, engaging in open hypocrisy and resulting to namecalling when people disagree with them. Why is China so hated? Because China doesn't stick it's perverbial nose in everyone elses business. Right? They won't mind their own business.

Does the above sound familiar? Look, I am not an anti-US person in any way whatsoever, on the contrary actually.

But it is posts like yours, that reek of hypocrisy, double-standards and provincialism; that in fact you are doing yourself and your country a disservice, the end result you are exactly that which you accuse your non-existent enemies to be.

I know there are millions of decent, wholesome Americans out there, but your stereotyping, lack of understanding, lies and hypocrisy serve as the ultimate bait for others to call BS on you - yet in the same breath you are playing the victim and sprouting off trash accusations. It is laughable.

It's hardly worth refuting the BS on your claims on China and putting it into context, since you appear to be the classic sheep, bombarded with propaganda, who then tries to claim independence, awareness and a worldliness that demands respect.

It is only when individuals like you, playing the victim with an over-inflated sense of self-importance and worldiness, can STFU with nonsensical stereotypes, lies and utter nonsense about countries you clearly have never been to, never will, and most likely can't even find on a map.

So harden the f@ck up, stop your whingeing, stop with your stereotyped BS, get out and travel, learn something, stop playing the victim, help your community, help communities abroad, and recognize who the real enemy is. It is not other nationals of countries whom you clearly have a lack of understanding, and it is not those who bash america (yes, they too most likely are like you, with a lack of understanding of the US).

The enemy (your enemy, not mine) in this case is you yourself, for your lack of understanding and need to focus on utter out-of-context BS speaks volumes about your need to mature and seek the truth; it's infinitely better to not parrot the utter BS propaganda you are fed which only serves to divide and anger.

Funny how everyone wants to bash the US, because who is the first one they call when things get bad.. Oh wait its the US. How would the rest of the world feel if we just stop sending foreign aid to them. I also find it funny that they want to bash the US and take the money, but do they send it here when we have problems. I say let them go and try to handle their problems without help. We could save a butt load of money that we could use.I love this country, but not so much the administration.

The vast bulk of all American foreign aid, ends up in Israel.
How would the world feel if that all stopped ?

The world would be OVERJOYED.
