Oh, and if that's an actual picture of the explosion, then no RV tank would ever do that. It's much, much, more than some RV LP bottles.

My bet is ammonium nitrate with some type of accelerant. Lots of burn but not a huge crater....appears to have been designed to blow out in every direction from what I am looking at.

I really think this was a mis-timed bomb that was supposed to go off 12 hours earlier or later.

If this was a mistimed attack. Then chances are there are going to be more.

Would it makes sense to start setting up bombs now, to go off on New Years Day?

That day has always seemed to be a target for some reason.

When the "explainers" start showing up here and on the MSM saying not to worry, it was just incidental gunfire hitting the LP bottles of an incapacitated RV...move along now; you'll know it's a masquerade.

It only works that way in the movies. Just like shooting the gas tank of a car; it doesn't work that way.

Unless you are using something like WP or tracer rounds.

Opened google earth and went to street view at that location after seeing debris field at the site of the explosion.

It is right up against the large red brick building. It houses ATT. Any light bulbs going off knowing this?

Officials with the OEM also reported foul play was not suspected...

They are already BSing us.

New Year's Day is NOT the day I'd be worried about. I'd be MUCH more worried about crowded public stores and such this Saturday, when people traditionally flock in throngs to either return/exchange unwanted gifts, or to reap sales benefits (we do the latter)

I'm seriously considering whether or not going out for the post-Christmas clearances the 26th is going to be worth it if this could be a terrorism campaign.

Watching spokesperson now saying they had a call for shots fired before the bomb went off.

Could be someone was trying to bait police in to blow them up.

It was apparently an RV of some sort.

New Year's would make far more sense than Christmas if you're targeting night spots. Most of those would not be open on Christmas, especially not in a town like Nashville.

Ha....yeah....I have shot enough tanks myself to know what they do.

Another thought I had was the call was for shots fired.....what if this RV was full of tannerite and someone was trying to set it off with a rifle from a distance?

I could see a RV full of tannerite doing this.

Hopefully they will be able to figure out what is going on from the evidence of this explosion.

This could be a blessing, if it leads us to bombs set to go off next week.

That's a good point too.

Day after shopping/returns are also a busy time in stores.

Too soon to set anything like that up for New Years.....I think it was meant for last night.

I dont think anything would be already set for a week from now. Would be too suspicious to leave a vehicle for a week somewhere.

I find it curious that it's outside the front door of AT&T, maybe some kind of effort to disrupt communications?

FBI has now taken over the investigation.

Police were already suspicious of the vehicle before it exploded. I'm wondering if the terrorist was watching, knew the vehicle was being looked at, and decided to explode it so at least it might do some damage to the surrounding police and buildings.

I can't pinpoint where it is. Can you give me an address or Lat and Lon?

I did see it was near a "critical commutations center".

Not a big enough bomb to do anything much to a building.....ATT would also have multiple redundancies....I doubt they were the target.
