Back on track, we should start hearing about the WHO meeting:

Chinese leader Xi Jinping defended his country’s handling of the coronavirus epidemic as “open, transparent, responsible” on Tuesday in a meeting with World Health Organization director general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, even as the Chinese mayor at the epicenter of the outbreak apologized for withholding information from the public.

I found that comment funny, it’s an information quarantine as well, probably to prevent panic and more damage. You would see insurgent type activity after days or weeks of quarantine. At least in scenarios you do, I thought I saw some other reports in this thread about small bombings.

Honestly, I think it's important that they don't make a huge deal about it, until they need too.

The flu is big this year (or so it seems, but maybe the same as all the other years), and if the symptoms are the same as the flu, then basically, everyone will be flooding the hospitals and wanting testing and it will slow down and limit those who actually were in China or knowingly had direct contact with someone from China.

This is a nightmare scenario in the making.

Its essentially a fact...this has being stated by numerous scientist and medics

Im saying just be aware of the possibility my only allegiance is to those I love and care about,there now seems to be 2 cases of infection by people who HAVE NOT been to China one in Japan one in Germany also read what they are dealing with now was people infected up to 20 days ago.

Seems Taiwan is confirming human to human transmission now too

aiwan's Central Epidemic Command Center said the latest patient, the eighth, was the first case of transmission on the island as in all the previous cases the people had been infected first in China.

The new patient, a man in his 50s from central Taiwan, was infected by his wife after she returned from working in China and before she was subsequently diagnosed, the command centre said. The man is in a stable condition, it said.

While coronavirus and influenza are different viral strains, Strain Influenza A virus subtype H5N1 symptoms seem to very closely relate to this strain of Coronavirus.

H5N1 - humanized influenza A virus

In general, humans who catch a humanized influenza A virus (a human flu virus of type A) usually have symptoms that include fever, cough, sore throat, muscle aches, conjunctivitis, and, in severe cases, breathing problems and pneumonia that may be fatal.

H5N1 spreads often slowly than other influenza types and can be often fatal.

More and more cases do keep popping up, Taiwan claims that China is also attempting to block their access to WHO resources and making a political issue out of something that should be under a UN mandate by now.

I’m concerned because if it does overload health systems in the US, they may call up medical units to supplement civilian systems as an emergency response team.

The last thing I want is to be away from my wife and 3 kids during this thing.

There are going to be a lot of suspected cases this time of year in the northern hemisphere especially. Everyone with any cold symptoms who thinks they might have reason to have had contact with someone from China ...
