Terrorism..Terrorism..TERRORISM!

Christ people. All this arguing over irrelevant matters. As of now this simply looks like a shooting in an albeit #ty public place for a shooting to occur. This doesnt seem mass casualty event. It was probably local gang related or some other sense nonsense with people in an disagreement coming unhinged.

The fear around here is ridiculous. Yes any terrorist attack or otherwise mass shooting is terrible. Any murder is terrible. Is the world ending? No. Overall crime in general is still down greatly from decades past. But dont let that stop you all from letting the 24/7 media and internet work you up into a frenzy.

That all being said, screw anybody doing any shooting in Colorado. Take that crap elsewhere. In other news - this past weekend two teenagers were shot and killed in Colorado Springs by other high schoolers. Likely by wannabe gangsters at a house party attempting to spend their lives in prison for some 'street cred.' Idiots all of them.

And screw the media and anyone here practically drooling hoping this was another mass casualty event solely so they can parrot their personal bull#.

You're turning this into semantics. The point is trying to ban something or someone based on the actions of a very small minority.

So you believe that the course of action would not be to stop the way that let in a person who would do something like this?

How would you solve the problem of people like that?

You have to break down the entire system by placing a ban at least until we can get a system in place that works. We have a big enough problem of citizens killing each other, why make it worse?

Is there any more details coming out about this?
My husband is in Denver right now, last I talked to him (many hours ago) he was going to go out to buy stuff for me at a store, but he didn't say which one. How close to Denver is this?

if he was allowed in like the NYC attackers then yes people should be outraged, someone who didn't need to be here killing people is outrageous.

An even better prediction than my own.

I'm sure there will be plenty of people blowing it out of proportion and calling for gun restrictions as well. They're just as dumb as the ones who base their reaction off of skin color, in fact they're probably in the same group.

It shows your bias more than anything, if he turns out to be brown then so many people will scream muslim terrorist. If he turns out to be white, condolences to his family, and prayers for the victims.

No one has really claimed condolences for the families of these murderers, be they white or brown. We don't drag them into it unless there are links to bring them in. So ... baloney.

And black or brown does not always equate with muslim. Even in your own country there are white, home grown, left leaning political, right leaning activist, muslims.

You're just dragging your paint brush over all the paint to say "See, it's more bland stuff." when you know full well that you're grabbing at everything to prove your agenda.

Plenty of people prefer to wait for the facts, and if they turn out to be so, you can look back and review those who do ascertain a situation, and those who jump the gun. You don't see many on ATS (many, not any) who do.

Blue, hope everything is well with your husband. There aren't a whole lot of details right now, but it appears they took a lot of people away in a van to give statements or be interviewed. There are photos and a story I read somewhere showing a white van escorting witnesses somewhere.

According to RT news, 3 are reported deceased.

According to another news source, there are conflicting reports ranging from ~1 dozen shots to sounding like an automatic rifle being fired. There appears to be contradictory information, as these things initially go, so I am sure a press release will explain more.

My point is that if it's a brown guy then it suddenly speaks for all brown people, but if it's a white guy then it only speaks for him as an individual and not all white people.

Isn't that cool how whites shun bad white actors? Unlike blacks, who often tend to protect their own from justice.

I don't see why this has to turn into a race or religion issue.

If it turns out to actually be an act of terrorism, then it is the radical ideology that provides insight on the attacker(s) and not their race/religion.

Race and religion are not accurate predictors of criminal or violent activities.

If he's brown skinned you can be sure there will be people ridiculously outraged over it, if it's a white guy expect "prayers for the families" and "what a tragedy" schticks without much outrage.

Enlightened my ass! Your agenda is clear

Explain your logic please. Is Saudi Arabia more of a terrorist threat because they buy weapons?

Thornton is a NE burb of Denver. No fallout where I'm at, but, unfortunately this kind of violence happens every day in the big city. Chances are it was personal and/or mental health related. Probably not terrorism, but everyone is on edge after Vegas and NYC.

Of course that's what the bastards want! High percentage pack in this town so I'm always shocked when the perp is not taken down by a citizen. Maybe just my wishful thinking.

Really really sad... Sorry for the loss the the families of the victims.

Is it bad that Americans are starting to get "numb" to all this madness?

No it's because they support and fund terrorists.
