McCain goes bonkers again. Says senators are equal to the president.

Bill Gates earns more in an hour than the President makes in a year.

Hmmm.

President Trump is donating his Presidential Salary, That's a lot more than you can say for other Presidents. Go Trump.

Which is, again, irrelevant. It's not even relevant to the comment I was responding to.

Are you guys having a contest to see which of you can get the furthest away from the OP?

He's not bonkers he's absolutely correct.
This country has no king. No one man in charge.
We have a balance of branches that check and balance each other.

Do tell whats America in 2017? Trumps kingdom?

He thinks so obviously. We're here to school him on how wrong he is.

McCain's remark was an obviously deliberate, contentious smear against the President; and an unnecessary exaggeration of what is only a partial truth. He just doesn't like Trump and, as with so very many other anti-Trumpers in Washington, many within Trump's own party, wants to do whatever he can to help impede this administration.

Money is the equalizer in your eyes?
Well no wonder you think they are not equal.
It's power and as you've seen the president is nothing without congressional support.
They've knocked him back several times already. Just today as a matter of fact.

That seems to be standard fare. The MO.

Deflect, distract, change the narrative to something that benefits their argument.

I think it was clear what he meant - the legislative branch is equal to the executive branch and should not be afraid or intimidated into doing what a President says.

Senators run for president. Presidents don't run for senator. President salary is several times than senator salary. Equal? Hmm.

John Quincy Adams and Andrew Johnson served in the congress AFTER they were president. One as a representative one as senator.
And Howard Taft served on the supreme court after being president.
Had Hillary won Barack Obama would be a supreme court judge right now I bet.

EO only applies to the federal departments and agencies. If a federal employee does not follow an EO then he or she gets fired.

The recent town halls have been a pretty good reminder to them about who they work for and who's interest they serve.

WTH? You do understand we have been discussing the content of McCain's speech, yesterday, yes? And not me, personally? I think I've made it abundantly clear I support very little the Republican party does, particularly this bunch of alt-right, freedom caucus tea party folks or how ever they refer to themselves not, who are so regressive it's nauseating. I have supported some things in the past, but not usually, and certainly not now.

So does this mean you wish he would have voted differently yesterday? I have been discussing McCain, and this speech.
I don't really know how he votes, although I assume it's extremely conservative, of which I have no real investment. How he votes is only I suppose on the peripheral of this discussion, as again, my comments pertains to the beautiful speech he gave before congress yesterday. Anyway, I am no longer amused with our conversation, as we are on two different topics, apparently. cya.

But you can go to jail for breaking a law. EO and law are not equal.

Brain tumors are usually painless. Just sayin.
That's why they often go undetected.
The brain has no nerves just neurotransmitters.
The incision on his face was where they removed a blood clot over his eye.
So he's probably not on pain killers. Maybe Tylenol for the surgery scar.

EO only applies to departments and agencies of the executive branch of the federal government. Laws apply to every citizen.

I am totally against almost all the republican proposals on healthcare, and not a big fan of McCain. Our healthcare system needs some fixes. and John McCain is absolutely correct in that the proper way to handle it is to actually have an honest non-partisan debate. You can't fault the man for that. As for the surgery and such, he was very coherent in my opinion.
