WHY did the Russians do it????

OK, so the information you are referring to is the same Podesta, Brazzile e-mails that were all factual and not tampered with in any way. Yes, that is exactly what I wanted to know, so we could be on the same page here.

Now, knowing that WHAT was released was factual information about illegal activities going on inside the DNC and those messages proved that the DNC was trying to ensure that the election went the way they programmed it to, what is the crime here? Is it just the fact that a hack occurred? Or is it the more in depth issue that wrongdoing was exposed and that really pissed of the people in power in the DNC?

See, I really do get this, but it seems nobody on your side wants to discuss the meat and potatoes of this, which is the fact that no lies were told when this was released, the truth was damning enough all by itself.

Problem with THAT is.

There have been TWO votes.

The first the EC said Trump won.

The second time the EC said Trump won.

The EC wasn't hacked, and neither was our election.

Here's the problem I have with the leaks. They only show one party's info. Mysteriously, the RNC's corruption is still relatively hidden. Are you going to try and tell me the RNC are total angels with no bad secrets to reveal?

By only showing the underbelly of one side, it makes the other side not look so bad. Tell me that doesn't affect and manipulate the mostly stupid population of our country.

The fair thing would have been to show it all. Let the people have all the information on both parties - that's the only fair way. But that didn't happen, did it? Not a fair election.

But, then they only released damaging information found in their DNC hacks, and kept the info from RNC hacks secret.

Publicizing only one side of the hacks, is seen as favoring the other side.

That is then interpreted as the Russians interfering in the "management of public opinion" deliberately in favor of Trump.

Usually, the campaign parties fight to manage public opinion for their candidate and against the opposing candidate.

This is considered "fair play."

But, when a foreign nation sticks its nose into the game, and pushes for one particular candidate, it's considered
"meddling" in the national elections game.

So, the Russians meddled.

Why did they do it? Maybe for fun, maybe to get back at Hillary for attacking the previous Russian Elections, maybe because they think Trump will lift sanctions against Russia, maybe just for practice to see if they could. Who knows. The Russians said they didn't do anything. And the C.I.A. has not provided any proof. So, maybe nothing happened at all.

The problem is that the Republicans weren't in power for the last 8 years. So, they didn't have lots of interesting juicy emails concerning all the shenanigans government officials were involved in to reveal to the public. The Democrats were doing all the "official work" of the government, and anything that needed "covering up" would likely be democrat activity.

The party in power always has the most to hide.
