Hawaii is probably not legally part of the US so Obama may not be US Citizen?

Ok I'm not a birthed but I did not realize Americans stole the Islands from its rightful Royal Government.

We should really give it back to the Hawaiian people.

We should give Alaska and Manhattan back to the Native Americans and California and Texas back to Mexico too!

Quite a grenade you just lobbed!
Interesting, but when the President was born, it was considered a state.

As fr giving it back, there is a long history of that battle. And an active sovreignity movement on Hawaii.

Who cares about Obama at this point.

You should probably tell Hawaii they are their own nation as they will be very happy about that.

Sure. Right when we return all the land west of the original 13 colonies to the Natives.

Hawaii was a legal state when Obama was born.

He's safe.

I think you will find that Hawaii is part of the U.S. according to American law, which is what counts for Presidential election purposes.

Good thing you caught this so early into his Presidency.

Hawaii's statehood wouldn't matter. Obama's mother was an American citizen (herself born in Kansas). He acquired his citizenship from his mother at birth regardless.

He's safe until somebody gets ahold of the adoption records.

Let's not forget that of the many tribes that inhabited North America when the settlers arrived had obtained their land by conquest.

So are we going to also reappropriate the land to the tribes that stole it or the tribes that had it stolen?

Is that wishful thinking on your part?

Come January 20th, he is safe regardless of the status of those (non-existent) adoption records because there would be no need to challenge his Presidency once he leaves office.

Alaska would be sold back to Russia for hundreds of dollars per square acre and a case of vodka you mean?

Besides the national parks, most of Alaska is divided up to regional native corporations thanks to the Native Claims Settlement Act of 1972 (I think, it is early, and I need an eggnog latte). There is a whole branch of lawyers that do nothing but negotiate right-of-way passage across lands used by the Alaska Pipeline. This is another reason I think our governor is dumber than sh# in thinking that he can bully a gas pipeline across the state.

But I get what you are saying. And yeah, a day late and a buck short on the OP.

No, the US would only be responsible for rectifying its deeds.

Matters between tribes are of no concern to the US.

They are trying to pay all First People (First Nation is Canadian, I think. Anyway, American Indians or whatever the PC name is now a days) due to the old white guilt thing. Not sure how far they got on that. I may have some money coming my way if I am "pure" enough.

So, YAY White Guilt! If I am owed money that is...

Hawaii was illegally annexed in violation of an international treaty. The federal government has acknowledged this and apologized but won't return their land.

It's the treaty the U.S. violated that makes Hawaii different than other land-grabs in earlier U.S. history.
