So I was choosing a book to read my daughter this week and I remember the rats of nimh from my childhood. I go online and look for a digital copy and to my surprise I see the book is titled Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of Nimh.

I DISTINCTLY remember her name being Mrs. BRISBY.

Was it? No

I'm 40 with a wine and bourbon hobby so..... I am obviously wrong but I cant remember it any other way but Brisby.

Funny how unreliable our memories really are and how meaningless the difference is.

Mrs. Brisby was in the movie The Secret of Nimh. I remember her from the movie because I never read the book.

It was Brisby in the movies and Frisby in the books. They couldn't use Frisby in the movie because of copyright infringement concerns.

I never saw the movie. I must have been contaminated some other way.

The Secret of NIMH used to be one of my favorite movies as a child. Got it for my 4-year-old niece not too long ago. You are correct, it IS Mrs. Brisby. donbluth.wikia.com...

We all experience these memory lapses.
The ME theories are a bit outrageous.

However I'm still dumbfounded by learning the challenger accident was 1986! In my world it was 83 or 84. I know exactly where I was living and this date puts me in a whole other home and city and a big tv instead of the little 14 inch I saw it on, with another child that hadn't yet been born.

lmao ..a thread just to complain about the Mandela Effect.

So true to the ME skeptic form, complaining about something that apparently doesn't even affect you.

It's all good and everything, just very funny

You choose a random book to justify your opinion. Great post!

I wasnt complaining. I merely pointed out how sure I am of my memory even though it's wrong.

Good post - I like that your immediate assumption wasn't to the outrageous but the plausible.

And yes, I'm a few years on you with a similar penchant but for single malt scotch, and I recall the film being Brisby and years later finding the book with Frisby, and being confused.

But, good choice of book. Loved that film.

I don't get how it was an effect. But if you remember it differently than so be it.

In the film, it is 'Brisby'.
In the book, it is 'Frisby'.
