Is anyone thinking these may be hired mercenaries hired by factions within the LEO community to take out their own cops to create more tension between cops and the community.

It sounds far fetched but something doesn't quite add up to what has been reported so far.

It will be interesting to watch how the DOJ is going to handle this.

DOJ has been rather "soft" as of late hasn't it?

person of interest is the camo guy, and there is pic of him in what looks like a ear piece.... then of course he could be innocent, he was legal to carry his firearm.

Actually, the police were calling them snipers.

Question for any militaty/LEO here:

Is the label of "sniper" usually attributed to someone based on the weapon they are using or the range/type of shooting they are doing? Neither or a combination?

Thanks in advance, I have found that point confusing. Just media hyping I thought but the police were referring to them as snipers too?

Twitter vid posted a few pages back showing him at street level while the shooting is going on, in the chaos just as confused as everyone else.

hinky. classic contractor vehicle. especially combined with how professional that shooter seemed.

If it really was a government 'op'.

There wouldn't be any sign of it.

I think that shooter did have military training.

Or at least spent a lot of cash on 'commando' courses.

What mercenary would put himself into a position where he would be taken into custody?

The shooter looked highly trained in his movements and it appeared he knew exactly what he was doing.

I know the social media world has devolved to memes to attempt at making a point.

But for all the love in the universe. This is ATS. We're better than that.

Holy crap! That shooter look well trained, no?

Yeah point blank!

Reminded me of the shooter going into Charlie Hebdo when he shot the cop on the ground.

This is the video that was shown on Fox a few minutes ago.

Oh my God!
First time I've seen this footage. This whole thing brings tears to my eyes. I'm so sick of people killing each other to make a statement. If it's justice they want, this is not the way to get it. This is evil, hate fueled insanity.

Actually, that's a good point.

I want to add that I have seen several videos of the actions of the shooters. Including a clip of one of the shooters moving from cover to cover and with violence of action.

These were WELL trained shooters.

doesn't have to be ours. but, like you say, military training nonetheless. could be paid or sponsored by any one of a number of people/organizations.

But that's pretty bold to pull up in a black SUV and very comfortably move in and out of position, circle back and execute a trained police officer who was trying to sneak up on him.

Like a freaking video game.
