Thats right...
The same is true here on ATS...
You can say what you want but...
You may pay the price for it...
Just like I said earlier when I admitted that when doing so you bear full responsibility...

The problem is that they are using the most extreme examples as an excuse to paint a broad stroke over the whole spectrum. One individual posts an extremely racist video, and are most likely nothing more then a click bait troll, then all of sudden anything even vaguely resembling the topic is being censored across the board.

It's almost like provocateuring.

Almost but in the case of this youtuber, there were multiple videos (according to the OP video). People are getting banned every day for the same things. These companies know the second they ban something for being political and non offensive that people will leave that site en masse. But as has been said in this thread, there are other videos on there which are racist. They just havent been picked up on and judged. Its not a blanket ban, they cannot afford to loose viewers by using an automated system or without review.

There are plenty of hate and bigot friendly platforms out there where you can say whatever you like, the just aren't as popular.
The company which owns YouTube provides a well known search engine which will lead you to them.

Do you know how easy it is for an SJW to pose as a white supremacist just to shut down a discussion they don't agree with? It's become an epidemic on sites like Reddit and instead of taking the individual out of the equation, they close the entire platform.

How convenient.

That's the free choice of a private business, I support that free choice as much as I support your freedom to choose another internet platform, or to start your own and censor or not as you see fit.

I could imagine it is easy for someone to do that, but at the same time wouldn't that label that person as one meaning they get banned and have to start the whole thing again?

If the users do not like this sort of thing then why not move to a new platform which wouldn't ban people for these sorts of posts? If a site says "anything goes" then no one can get a thread shut down.

You know why people don't do this? Because they like to use the safe versions, the one all their friends use because people seem less likely to think for themselves these days. But at the end of the day, if you are that bothered about these SJW's then surely you should contact your platform of choice and report them for trolling / abuse of the system and get THEIR posts removed not the whole thing.

Can you at least not agree that companies have to protect their image to continue trading in good faith?

This thread is about NO site having the freedom to portray Anything that is not deemed acceptable in the future...
Just the other day msm had an article about how this is being proposed and that entire sites would be taken offline...

The second this happens then a new internet would be born and people would stop using the mainstream and go to another form of communication / information sharing.

If enough people walk away from using the net once "restrictions" are put into place, business suffer (for example, Amazon) which pay tax to governments which then hurts the country that has the restrictions causing a spiral of loss which ends up in restrictions being lifted or businesses joining users on the new net.

If you dont like how someone is abusing your "rights" you go else where. Its simple

When Stormfront gets censored I'll start believing it.
This thread is about whining that private businesses are censoring content on their servers.
I support their freedom to do so. I would censor my own if I provided a similar service.

This thread is about the censorship being imposed on the largest media platforms on the planet that claim to be bipartisan. Some of it should be censored, but it's starting to get out of control.

Your solution is to crawl into a corner or just stop using the internet.

Its beyond even creating a new net as you say because they would shut that down too...
You would need to developed everything from scratch if this was made a reality... software hardware the transport and encyption of your signals etc...
Its about your rights that will be taken from you along with the means to do so in this fashion...
Sorry hit reply to wrong post...

I support businesses protecting themselves from vile people, obviously I do not support things like the snooper charter etc. Like most I was born before the fully formed internet we have known for all these years was a "thing" so life without the internet wouldn't bother me too much in the social aspect of my life (would screw me job wise).

But what you keep skating around is that these "largest media platforms" are companies pulling in money and having to protect themselves. You have very few rights when it comes to posting on them, you are in their charge whilst you use their product.

If you wish to use a full on argument then you need to stand one side or the other in the debate. Its either "some bad bits are banned" or "nothing is banned". My stance is that I am at the mercy of the company who owns the product I use when using it. I have no false delusion of freedom of speech on a company owned platform.

Like I said, I support these companies covering their own back sides when it comes to vile people attempting to get their "views" over. But as has been said before, if you honestly do not like the stance they take then you are not held there against your will. You are free to use any other platform you wish. You choose to use these ones.

Fortunately there are plenty of people willing to call them out on their BS instead of just running away from it, which is why many of these platforms are being forced to back peddle.

He was not condoning the right to portray such illegal material you are mentioning...
He's saying she was being singled out for doing what many others are doing on youtube...
And that's speaking freely...

They get caught censoring and shadow banning content, then deny it. They could at least keep a straight face while doing it instead of lying to their user base.

just my opinion - but : leafyishere the chanel spawning these vids , is ...

part of the problem - not part of the solution

despite the fact that i use my y-tube chanel very seletivly and sparingly - he shill comes up in ` suggestions ` despite having no comonality with my own content of stuff i watch

i must tread carefully - as ATS has a dim view of me insulting 3rd parties who cannot respond

but drama whore - comes to mind as both accurate and - i hope T&C compliant

thats it - he is trawling the internet for crap and regurgitating it under the cover of editorial comment

Taken directly from the ROC for YouTube

"Hateful content
Our products are platforms for free expression. But we don't support content that promotes or condones violence against individuals or groups based on race or ethnic origin, religion, disability, gender, age, nationality, veteran status, or sexual orientation/gender identity, or whose primary purpose is inciting hatred on the basis of these core characteristics. This can be a delicate balancing act, but if the primary purpose is to attack a protected group, the content crosses the line"

If you post content that matches those items then you should expect to eventually get banned from the service and that has nothing to do with Free Speech.

It's amusing that some members think the constitution requires private companies to provide a platform for bigotry and racism.
If I owned an event arena in the real world I wouldn't rent my stage to a white supremacist group, and nor should I be forced to.

Buy your own stage, or in the digital world start your own platform or join one of the many hateful internet places where they don't censor bigots.

Unlucky the biggest players want to protect their advertising revenue, I support their freedom to do so, and if you sign up to their T's & C's well just suck it up I say.
