But it's like the game-show contestant who says he can name that tune in ONE note.

Well you have to understand that a lot of people take "Make America great again" as "Make it safe for white people again".
A lot of people are voting for Trump because his xenophobia and racist mannerisms closely resemble how they feel and think. Even if he himself does not believe the things he says. The thing about fear and hatred - you can use it to use people.
His ability to say the most shocking outlandish things without any negative reaction from his core fan base is also troubling.
To say Donald can do it alone and to say that he is not himself a PTB is naive but I am not calling you that.
You don't get to that level of wealth and power without buying a lot politicians along the way. He said himself he would have owned Jeb had he not been running and I believe him. Should Trump become our president it will be incredibly entertaining to see who we go to war with first under his administration. It will also be a joy to watch how his love of veterans turns into disdain when they ask for him to keep his word.

Great negotiator? He's disenfranchised anyone with Latino roots already. He might not answer to 'Globalist, Bankers, Wall Street,' but they are his social circle and where his wealth is situated. He's as apt to be getting up with the same fleas as anyone else who lies down with dogs.

If he makes Pres, I bet he leaves the White House with more wealth than he went in with so there's always that to fall back on.

Yeah or maybe he will leave dead broke. Like hillary!

Has obama "fundamentally transformed america" in his 8 yrs?

How many conflicts has the nobel PP and his secstate, hillary started and messed up?

Make america great again? Probably comes out of "hey! let's be norway!"

They will run the country like a business, where people are responsible for their actions and avoid costly and counterproductive fluff.

Running the country like a business is the problem.

What is in our national interest is not always profitable. What is profitable is not always in our interest.

Business exists to collect revenue from it's employees, and provide services for that revenue. At some point, those services provided will start removing jobs from the public sector. Just look at what prison labor is doing already.

The Constitution has a concept of Church and State, what it missed and is equally important is a separation of Business and State.

So you support Trump because you think he'll charge and subsequently execute high level officials of the previous administration? Not that such a thing would ever happen because it's a completely ridiculous premise, but if that happened it would be outright civil war. It wouldn't even matter which side won, the country (or countries it fractured into) would be reduced to third world nation for the next 150 years.

Is that seriously what you want?

That's the last thing I would want Trump to do. His skill is centered on running businesses into the ground and driving them into bankruptcy. That is of course what Cruz, et al have been trying to do for the last six years. How that has anything to do with 'making America great' is beyond me.

You cannot seriously want both Congress and the President to be on the same page in that regard do you? Are you insane, or just blindly following these people over the cliff?

You do realize Trump never filed for Bankruptcy 4 companies in which he invested did. Be like you putting money into Microsoft and having them declare bankruptcy as an investor your not filing. His problem is he made investments in casinos and it was trouble. He appears to have liked the idea of buying casinos but now has changed his mind live and learn.

There's a very strong argument that there is no need for such separation, because if the Government followed the Constitution then it wouldn't be encroaching on so many areas where business interests exist.

Foreign policy, maintaining military for national defence, common framework and ajudication of interstate matters... Government really should not be playing as large a part as it currently does.

It was that damnable, infernal commerce clause, and a Supreme Court that was happy to use it as a sextoy with which to rape the states to death.

Ah, somebody else in the world has finally uttered that there may be a need for the "Separation of Business and State" thing other than myself.

When American colonists declared independence from England in 1776, they also freed themselves from control by English corporations that extracted their wealth and dominated trade. After fighting a revolution to end this exploitation, our country’s founders retained a healthy fear of corporate power and wisely limited corporations exclusively to a business role. Corporations were forbidden from attempting to influence elections, public policy, and other realms of civic society.

Trump is one of those corporate # heads. He more than likely won't rescind the recent corporate personhood laws which would pretty much fix everything else.
Corporations didn't make this country great like this dumbass probably believes to be the case.
Collective bargaining and the labor and sweat of our forefathers did.
Of course Trump thinks he knows what to do after not doing a goddamned lick of work his entire life.

sure the next president doesn't flush it.Since we seem to be running out
of options, the only thing left is grasping at any possible hope of changing
our country's destiny.

I think you have just offered us a visual on this whole scenario.

Trump is the turd that we all need to grab onto as we circle the bowl just to stay afloat. (however unpleasant that may be)

Your wisdom exceeds all aspects of life.

I know tons of Trump supporters that DO NOT think that, its a slogan. I do think he has a better chance than the others. Most Trump supporters don't even like him, I don't, I don't like any of those fools running, its a hate vote for some and not against Bernie, but against Hilary and the establishment that backs her and all of the other republicans.

The only way for Trump to make America what they are calling "great" again is to be the only developed nation not standing in rubble. Its how we did it then, too.

But electing a nationalistic airbag is not going to help. At least, not America.

a reply to: MyHappyDogShiner Yeah, his casinos and hotels just built themselves through a non existent shadow group. Im pretty sure Trump has ALWAYS been a hard working over achiever. Do I like him? not really, but I will vote for him because he will hire smart people and not politicians that got our debt this high.
