What do you expect? Kids today grew up on Islamophobia.

This isn't new. I was watching a Monty Python skit this week(game show. Blow to the head) where the "female" contestant shares, "I don't like Darkies." And that's over 45 years ago.

I think there is a difference between some silly joke on a comedy program and out right hatred.

Though I am of the school of thought were everything can be made fun of or nothing can. Nothing is sacred.

You're pro Israel yet you have a problem with political correctness?
Give me a break.

Bombing an open air prison into oblivion and murdering children playing on a beach is defence. How brave is that?

Not denying that there are real killings going on in the ME by ISIS, but what you're doing now is looking at one pixel. You need to see the whole picture. MSM won't do any good neither.

You're afraid of these so called "no go zones"? Try walking into Hackney or some other dodgy area in London and see if you come out without any stab wounds.

I broke down in Hackney a few years back.

White guy in a 2 year old Audi........

Needless to say the RAC got be out the area within 30 minutes!

Was a how can I say.......unnerving experience.

Resembled the scene in starwars epidode IV when C3PO was ambushed by Jawas.

Though instead of a desert rocky valley with dark crevices you had a high rise council estate and replace the Jawas with hoodies

Jokes resonate better if they are couched in reality. And let's face it, there are few that could compete with MP.

True they reflect the society we live in.

But id say that MP joke you referenced could be just as much a jab at the racist as it is at the "darkies" it mentions.

I agree with you there.
Britain was racist as # back in the 70's and 80's, and many older folk still are just they know they can't really get away with it anymore.
Muslim is the new Black.

It's a total jab at racists. Works great. See All in the Family. Which was a rip off of your show Man About the House. Laughing at the bigots takes all the sting out of them.

I was in secondary from 98-2003...

Prior to 9-11 terrorism either meant Eastern European hijacker...

Or much more prominently, the many branch offs of the IRA...

Rather than buildings and train stations being hypothesised as targets...

It was strictly expected that random civillians were targets, of Nail Bombs rather than vehicles or other incendiary devices...

An old mate of mine was affected by a bomb in a torch, which was blamed on the IRA...
Lost his hand, and eye and hearing in one ear... He was only 15 at the time...

I was always suspicious of the idea that the IRA had done it to be honest, same when they allegedly blew up the car outside the BBC...

Then 9-11 happened, everything changed after that.

It's difficult, from my own UK perspective to describe how different pre&post 9-11...

Words don't really do it justice.

Islam literal translation, submission to God...

The bull'o'meter is rising higher and higher...

Are you muslim ? Go learn your sources, pls.

Here is one source for you. They list 5 meanings of the word "islam"
www.islamtomorrow.com...

One of them is exactly what you called bs

Submission

"But no, by your Lord, they can have no Faith, until they make you (Muhammad, peace be upon him) as a judge in all disputes between them, and find no resistance against your decisions, and accept (the decisions) with full submission." [Holy Quran 4:65]

Total submission is required after the surrender and some terms have to be set forth by Allah to be understood by the Muslim. There can be no option in the matter as Allah says in another verse,
"It is not fitting for the believing man nor for the believing woman, that whenever Allah and His Messenger have decided any matter, that they should have any other opinion."
[Holy Quran 33:36]

Whatever Allah and His Messenger have set out as being the Way of Islam is incumbent on the believer, man or woman to follow completely. One must consciously and conscientiously give oneself to the service of Allah

Yes but if a "white" spokesperson representing the indigenous people of Britain speaks he/she is instantly vilified by the government ran media and anyone can attack them without being labeled anti white or anti British......it's the hypocrisy that stinks.
Political correctness is specifically aimed at white people.
Which ferments racial hatred as people see the injustice of it.
And i would also add It's not immigrants who are the problem it's the people purposely making policies to cause massive disharmony whilst the real agendas are ignored.

Yes, racism exists on all sides. I would never deny that, but the specific problem here is people complaining that Muslims are acting like every other group of people ever and pretending like that is something new and dangerous.

I felt it very important to write this.
Now i need to get one thing very clear. The idea of nazi thugs or bnp skinheads marching down the road on a saturday afternoon drinking cans of beer shouting we hate muslims, is the kind of thing i am strongly against. So let me get that out of the way.

Is it ok if Israelis do this though?

English comedy from that era is heavily based on racism and segregation...

Bernard Manning, Roy Chubby Brown, Alf Garnett...

I've heard Love Thy Neighbour was pretty racist as well...

Even recent times, up to Little Britain...
Which some may say "blacking up" is just Un-PC if it's a joke...

Seemed racist to watch though.

I remember an episode of Till Death Do Us Part (Alf Garnett sitcom)...

His TV was broken, that was the premise of the episode...

He tried everything to fix it...

Had to call a technician...

The technician was black...

He fixed it...

Plenty of racialism in between and Alf Garnett says "how did you fix that"...

The technician replied "black magic"...

Probably hilarious at the time...
But edgy a little later...
Now, probably wouldn't be screened...

PC reasons...
Because the message was that the black fella got one over on the old racist...

But then there was people like Bernard Manning and Chubby Brown who were strictly just offensive...
Funny at times, but more often than not, just hardcore racists.

I don't know what area you are from but i am from one which white British are lass than 20% of the population so i see it differently.
Also 1 in 12 children in school in England are now muslin which has doubled from 10 years ago so if the trend continues you will see it's not B.S.

Nowadays, especially in Europe, where the muslim population is growing massively - and if you read the government consensus and forward the stats at the same rate to 100 years from now, it shows quite clearly that muslims will be a majority in Europe 100 years from now.

You conveniently forget to mention that Islam is the "fastest growing" religion - in comparison to other religions.
You also forget that religious belief on the whole is declining, this includes Islam.
In addition, while people might hate this notion, Christianity "invaded" this country too, if the people decide to become Muslim, that's no different to people becoming Christian previously.

Once more, this seems to be more about a fear of the future or fear of difference and change, more than it's based in any reality.

Nonsense.
Where are these "aggressive" areas?
And what constitutes "aggressive"?

There are laws in this country, that we all have to abide by, are you suggesting that areas with a higher Muslim population see a higher rate of violent crime? If so, you need to offer some statistics to show that, in comparison to other areas of the country or areas of a city.

I have worked with plenty of Muslim's throughout my life, so if they really are "segregating" themselves as you claim, how is this possible?

Aside from all this nonsense, why is it any different to any Christian village in this country where outsiders are frowned upon, where they keep themselves to themselves, and where they have their own culture? You can go to Devon, Cornwall, Ireland, Norfolk, all the way up to Scotland, and you will find thousands of small villages where outsiders are rarely welcomed and where everyone goes to Church. Are they to be criminalized for not conforming to what you personally believe is an appropriate way to live?

Think of the many places in Birmingham, Slough, London, Manchester, Bradford, Luton (need i go on), where there is a massive muslim population.
Minority? yes for the moment. Loud, unfriendly, a threat to the culture of the area? Yes 100 per cent!

Again, you offer no actual evidence that these groups of people are loud, unfriendly, a "threat" to any culture. All you are doing here is repeating the same simple-minded and xenophobic nonsense of UKIP, the BNP and EDL.

originally posted by: kayleighkitty
However, muslims now have spokespeople in the bbc, and even in parliment positions, where if you so much as criticise things, you are branded a bnp thug or islamaphobic!

Wrong.
We have Muslim people working at the BBC (heaven forbid!!!) and we have Muslim MP's WELCOME TO EQUALITY AND DEMOCRACY!
Are you suggesting that jobs should reserved solely for White, Christian people?

People can criticize anything they like, and if you have a VALID argument then you'll succeed in that debate. Don't, however, claim that being a racist, a bigot, an ignorant person with simplistic views, means that you can get away with such nonsense.

People are called bigots and racists because most of the time their view is based in bigotry and racism, however much you might protest that opinion.

Stop being racists and bigots, and people won't be calling you racists and bigots, it's really pretty simple.

Even whilst condeming the atrocities that a very loud but small per centage of muslims carry out in the name of their god, the president of the USA and primeminister of the UK feel the need to spend more time reassuring us that islam is a religion of peace, than comforting the victims!

How the hell have you come to this conclusion?
The US president and British PM regularly express their condolences to victims, attend memorials, support the victims through public statements and so on.

This is where I give up on your post, you started off basically saying "I'm not a bigot, BUT..."

Everything you have said after it betrays your initial statement. People are labeled as being EDL, BNP and right-wing crazies because most of the time their views express all of this same nonsense, based in false information or none, based on irrational fears and propaganda, and often backed up with absolutely nothing at all.

Two thirds of UK Jews live within a 2 mile radius of Golders Green, with their own Shomrim and demands that the UK government pay for heightened security at their institutions. Is that ok?

All good points, however I feel the need to point out the Alf Garnett sitcom was designed to take the mick out of people stupid enough to act that way - but cleverly written so they wouldn't pick up on it. Same way Al Murray plays the rascist pub landlord to take the mick out of EDL types nowadays.

Manning, Brown et al were just plain racist/offensive though. I support Stewrt Lee's view of PC that it's at worst a form of institutionalised politeness that has stopped the Tories from being able to use the slogan 'If you want a ni**er for a neighbour, vote labour' which is clearly a good thing.
