Paint your claws in pretty pales and make sure they are pink.
Chew away your body mass and make your spirit shrink.
Tease your fur to glossy curls, your stag will go beserka,
But don't forget to do it all from underneath a berka.

Technically animals have no rights. Therefore we have enacted laws to protect animals.

Dear Serdgiam,

It makes a lot of sense to me that you would understand the OP. You should be proud of your agile mind. I'm still convinced you deserve a spot in the ATS Hall of Fame.

Dear tsu322,

Really nice piece of work. It reminds me of Animal Farm brought up to date and given some bounce and a little extra edge. I hope you post frequently.

With respect,
Charles1952

Thanks you two

Maybe someday, when the totality of my work is known.. that will happen.

Maybe not..
I am trying to set it up so my contributions to the world are anonymous, but its not going very well.

Tsu, I think you should write more like this, fwiw!

Hello Tinner, thanks for asking!

I didn't mean to spell burka wrong, I didn't even think to check. Doh...

Anyway the poem is about how women are expected to suppress all animalistic desires such as eating, sex and allowing their spirits to dance. I choose to use the term burka as it represents some of the worst oppressions I could think of.

It's also about how society pressures young women to dress and look a certain way and are then told by the same society that if they get attacked it's their own fault for looking the way they do.

Thank you, I'm still new to poetry really and I'm only just finding my own voice and style.

I'm trying to do anonymous stuff too but my site is registered to my name and address so if I do get published the journalists will find me anyway.

Animals have the right to be tasty. Whether baked, boiled, broiled, grilled, or fried. I love all animals with a side of Frank's Red Hot.
