Heard from my friend again, who heard back from his friend at ABC News, and GET THIS:

We asked about the live cam on the ABC New site and he said that they took the live cam offline and they're running old footage in it's place. ABC News seems very convinced that something big is happening today and they're doing their best to not let the word get out too quick...

Thank you for sharing the information! Time will tell whether their is any validity to what your 'friends' friend' had to say.

I can see where mass panic ensuing from a public warning might be more catastrophic than no warning......especially if a major event isn't as 'major' as thought!

Or you wait until 11:59 p.m. pacific standard time before you crap all over this dude's message.

Or you use common sense and not wishful doom-think.

I'd like to see this mysterious seismic alert claim proven rather than taken at face value. Name of the guy would be GREAT start, someone could surely dig up the number for the station & call him to verify.

Yeah, let me just give up this info and have my friend's friend fired. Smart move.

Call the station, that's totally fine. The fact is, ABC News is on high alert. Why, or for what, we have no idea. How they would be able to predict something is the real question here. Or maybe they're not predicting anything at all and the news station is always on some sort of alert?

It's still weird that my friend's friend would call like this out of the blue. Today must be different somehow than every other day for him to go out of his way and give us this sensitive information.

Welcome to ATS, new member. You surely understand, we are quite used to these, friend of a friend told me such and such, possible doom porn stories. They are usually just that. Stories. Unless you have something more concrete to add to flesh out your story, don't expect a lot of interest on our parts. Plus, I see you've also started a new *friend of a friend told me, such and such*, thread.

I love a challenge. We at ATS are known for our digging for the truth. For using all publicly available research tools at our disposal.

I'll make the call to the ABC Los Angeles News Desk to inquire about any high alert status for earthquake activity.. No names are being used, only asking if the reported online alert, is in fact real.

ABC is a full service television station in Los Angeles, California, broadcasting on local digital VHF channel 7. Founded in 1949, it is owned by Disney/ABC. KABC is affiliated with ABC (American Broadcasting Company), airing ABC's primetime shows in the evening. In the morning, the station airs ABC's morning news

I just got off the phone with ABC News in Los Angeles. I spoke with both the assignment desk, and the news desk. Both confirmed, there has been no alert of any kind, issued for earthquake activity, by the station. They did confirm the reporting of 2 small quakes earlier, but that's it.

So the link to the news7 cam is not current, it does seem to be shaking non-stop. Haven't seen that before since checking it out. Any idea how big/small those tremors are? I noticed in the felt reports that people are describing the 3.6 (20 reports)one earlier today as a rumble and a jolt. The one the day before was report with the (jolt) too.

Wrong ABC News. He doesn't work for the local affiliate, he works at the national ABC news office, ABC World News.

Not sure they'd tell you what's really up anyways, it was a private notice told to employees only this morning.

Then, you should call ABC World News headquarters to confirm your own story.

I'll do it for you, if you are just willing to pass on gossip, as truth. BTW, you did report in your original story it was ABC News in Los Angeles.

From your now closed thread on this subject:

Can't start a new topic yet, so I'll post this here...

A friend of a friend works for ABC News in Los Angeles. He said that today ABC is on "high alert for major seismic activity today." It's apparently a big deal to get a call from him, because he is usually very tight-lipped about the security sensitive stories the World News is privy to.

WE ARE IN DANGER believe me

Was watching this all morning long and also agree on this story.

______beforeitsnews/home/recent/

"Los Angeles Harmonic Tremor Earthquakes Increase As 1994 Northridge Quake Anniversary Nears

The 20th Anniversary of the Northridge Earthquake of 1994 is coming up on Friday and already the Southern California faults are responding, becoming more unstable as minor quakes hit.

‘Harmonic Tremors’ are showing up on the ABC7 Los Angeles Seismograph Camera. Usually this shows grided patterns when calm conditions exist. However, lately there has been consistent movement of the needle, showing that movement at the sensor location is ongoing. The signature is that of a volcanic signature, but there are no known active volcanoes in the Los Angeles Basin.

This is all leading up to the 20th Anniversary of the 1994 Northridge Earthquake. Just after 4:00am on January 17, 1994, a major Earthquake hit the Los Angeles Basin. The Earthquake measured a magnitude-6.7 centering the Reseda area. The Earthquake was called the Northridge Earthquake because the media talked more about Northridge’s damage than where it really originated from. It would have otherwise been called ‘The Reseda Earthquake’ if the media did not intervene.

A couple days ago, HaarpStatus contacts reported measurements being high along the West Coast, just before these earthquakes started. After the Fontana 4.4 quake on January 15th and the 3.8 quake before midnight last night, the area is extremely unstable. With different triggers in the area, it is quite possible that we have yet to see the bulk of the earthquake activity in the region."

I know its just a matter of time before we here in Los Angeles get our butts handed to ourselves with a giant quake again lol

It will happen tho
and soon.

I'm not entirely sure if he works in LA or New York. This is a friend of a friend, I've never met the guy.

There's nothing more I can do to confirm the story. Here's what I know for a fact:

A friend of a friend called and said that ABC News is on high alert for seismic activity today in Los Angeles.

The local ABC affiliate quake live cam is not actually live, today.

That's it. If you think you can call ABC News and get them to reveal private information that was only told in strict confidence to employees and not the public, then go ahead. I'd guess that chances of that are doubtful, though.

I'm sorry I can't offer you any more. I'm really just passing on what I heard this morning.

It's been a while, now hasn't it?

Well I have no idea what's going on or will go on but it has been awful quiet.

California is definitely making things interesting as of late. The Cam in LA has been wobbling up and down the last few minutes. I couldn't take a screen shot though.
