We also learnt that NASA allowed us to watch, in near real time, a comet passing by the sun, with several different spacecraft.

I guess ignorant haters are gonna ignorantly hate.

I hear

1) It's dead

2) It hasn't been seen yet.

That means it CAN still be there, right? Should it be seen by now then? I hope it comes around, and gives us the show!

Exactly, Nasa bothered to form this for us - 36,000 people were entertained and informed. cant really say much against that.

A front for what?

You make it sound like it's some big faceless corporation that is out to get everyone.

The core of NASA are the people we are seeing on this feed.

Geeks who love space and astronomy.

Again though, ignorant haters are gonna ignorantly hate.

Just imagine if these ARE advanced probes from Alien races. After all, the Universe has billions of years of history and we aren't a part of 99.999% of it.

Some day, some race with a ship bigger than our moon will show up with a very BIG bill, payable by whatever puny little star system has been vaporizing it's probes.

Actually they're allowing the whole world to watch... not just the US.

Oh no, the ever decreasing budget of NASA is killing the US economy.

They're tax payer funded spacecrafts out there, sure, but would you rather just listen to the word of NASA telling you that ISON did or did not survive perihelion?

Yeah, thats a rhetorical question by the way, since seeing it for yourself is clearly not enough.

Here's the latest STEREO image. Since it's low-res I don't want to speculate.

This is two hours later after ISON disappeared. I don't want to speculate either since I'm no expert but is ISON still alive? What is this. The round object has nothing to do with the tail also...this is all just weird to me.

The round object you see is Mercury or Venus. Just a planet

according to NASA, ison exploded and there is a huge risk to have lots and huge comets into earth really soon.

ps: for personal reasons I may have big hopes it didn't died. Yes, it is well known that ISON's water will puff and lots of stone to, but that's not the only ingredients of ISON . And it its well known that these kind of comets, are indestructible.
