Thanks cheesy. It will survive
It will emerge from the back of the sun in 3 hours. It will be as bright as two full moons I tells yah.

Maybe not as bright but who knows what nice warm presents it will bring from the sun.
Eye candy presents not doom kind.

Slightly off topic, and not intending to be a doomsdayer, but is it at all in the realm of possibilities that Ison could break apart as it slings around the sun, and have several fragments going off in different directions?

I only ask because while we are all waiting for this to be a spectacle and a wide miss, I haven't seen any articles that rule this out and it would suck to find out that there's a fragment of a comet heading toward us. There's no Jupiter or moon to protect us.

Other than that, big thanks for the feed Cheesy!

~Namaste

EDIT: The guy on NASA feed just said it's impossible for the fragments to hit us, so I guess I feel better now?

On the G+ chat they just said it appears that core is not as well defined as it was which could possibly indicate it has broken up.

Now that's a bummer
We'll know for sure if nothing comes whipping around the other side later.

I'm going to pull the fingers-in-ears la-la-la move for now, I'd really like to keep on hoping until it's indisputable.

I am afraid this LASCO2 pic shows the fate of ISON. It was vaporized.
Too bad, but there were previous indications this might happen.....

I'm not having any luck either.

Keep the faith people, how often have people already said it has disintergrated in the last fews weeks.

Ison will make it...

I think it was Phil that said they are having issues setting the contrast on the SDO spacecraft which could be why we aren't seeing much.

My fingers, toes, arms, legs etc are crossed! Hope it stays together!
