For clarification. The jury is out on whether encephalopathy 'causes' autism. Most children with autism have never had encephalopathy according to the CDC.

The overwhelming weight of scientific evidence on the considerable amount of research into a purported link between vaccines and autism shows no such link exists. The preponderance of evidence required to make such a finding in a scientific study is considerably more than the 51%:50% preponderance required in the 'vaccine court'.

I believe the source of this source is NN, but it seems the whiteout press version was unbiased enough to post rebuttals to the article.

The hoax is that the money was paid out for autism, but instead it was actually for a bad reaction to the vaccine, which is customary as it's known that a small percentage of people react badly to vaccines and an appropriate oversight body is there to deal with it.

To further elaborate on this, (because confusion is possible) even if the court "found that the vaccine caused autism" it does not mean that vaccines cause autism.

Luckily, courts do not decide scientific facts.

I bring this up because in Italy, a court actually did rule that a vaccine caused autism. So I believe it is relevant. Also relevant is that another Italian court charged a group of scientists for not predicting an Earthquake. It seems that court rulings related to scientific findings are not without their discrepancies.

Italian courts, provincial or otherwise, are not known for basing their rulings in science. They are, after all, part of the system that led to a manslaughter conviction of six scientists for not predicting the 2009 L’Aquila earthquake, disregarding completely the obvious fact that such predictions are not, in fact, scientifically possible. In a similar way, the Italian court that made the MMR-autism ruling–the centerpiece of this latest “courts confirm” tripe–ignored completely the science made available to it and focused almost solely on the retracted Wakefield paper and a physician with a COI in making its decision. A decision that is, by the way, under appeal.

If anything, these kind of examples show us exactly what bad science can bring out in the courts. And while I agree drug companies are full of skeletons and shady dealings, the demand should be for better unbiased scientific study, rather than jumping on a bias bandwagon.

My uncle was born in 1938 and my grandma had many photographs of him as a robust, healthy baby until he was around 18 months. She told me he became ill and he was never the same afterward. She also told me he was one of the first babies to be vaccinated against measles, I believe. This conversation took place several decades ago when I didn't know about the correlation between vaccinations preserved with mercury (thimerosal) and autism.

I only knew him as an adult who didn't quite fit in; extremely routine-oriented, methodical and somewhat compulsive; especially work ethics. But he was labeled by the public education system as mentally retarded. He attempted several times to pass 10th grade without success. But he did manage to obtain a driver's license when he was 16 and held a full-time job as a custodian at a restaurant for 40+ years. He did odd jobs and yard work on the side.

He was autistic without a doubt, based on current day information. Thimerosal was discontinues as a vaccination preservative in the 40's, possibly when the pharmaceutical companies realized their mistake, only to be introduced once again as a vaccination preservative in the 1990's.

The measles vaccine wasn't developed until the 1960's some three decades after your uncle was born so it couldn't have been that.

Also, the only correlation between thimerosal and autism is the fabricated one which anti-vaxers for some reason believe is true irrespective of evidence and facts.
There are also the facts that MMR vaccines have never contained thimerosal and that the autism rates were increasing prior to the MMR being developed.
But don't let facts get in the way of a story.

I can't believe the article you have posted. The "references" section basically doesn't have any working links. Also, based on a very quick background research on Dr. Wakefield, turns out he is a quack. Seriously, do some research before you make a post this size.

I don't doubt that to some extent MMR's do perhaps trigger ASD, in some - but certainly not all. ASD is found to be a genetic issue. Some have it, some don't. It's more like the gun is loaded (genetics), but what pulls the trigger?

More credible research in fact shows that ASD can in fact form when children are born c-section. Due to being born c-section the baby does not pass through the birth canal, wiping it's face right beside the mothers anus. the link here being that because this does not happen, it is assumed that the baby is in fact not picking up "good" bacteria via the mouth/nose (the beginning of our digestive tract). Because of this, the future presents itself with challenges for the newborn. If you don't have the proper flora fauna balance in your digestive tract, then you will NOT be able to filter out the bad and good that we take into our bodies (i.e. food or whatever else an infant puts in it's mouth).

By not having a proper filtration system working, you leave the brain exposed to neurotoxins (which is why I don't totally disregard the MMR thing - however it is not a cause - it is likely a symptom of the trigger - - - that lack of flora and fauna in the gut is basically like having no defenses in protecting the brain from harsh neurotoxins.

Obviously the triggers and causes are not strictly limited to this one theory. It is a complex answer that autism has, and rightly so. We are complex machines.

BULL ! 100's of millions of people received vaccines for decades. Why aren't there 100's of millions of people suffering now? One tip I would like to give you is to always look for conflicts of interest before deciding whether a study is likely to be honest. All of those who say MMR is 'safe' have huge conflicts of interest. If they said it wasn't safe they'd have their careers destroyed and funding removed by Big Pharma.

Rates of Autism started increasing at the same time as MMR was introduced.

The pharmaceuticals have essentially admitted that Thimerosal was causing problems by removing it from so many vaccines, unfortunately they've replaced it with Aluminium which is even worse.

After my sons MMR shot his eyes rolled back in his head he later was diagnosed as ADHD. Spent years in Doctors offices and special education. Fortunately he is a self supporting member of society now.
