For the gun haters shows just what a single armed individual can do in sucha situation......

But he's not just some single armed individual is he.. he's SAS!

You go walk around an American city after dark, checkout the youth and adults walking the streets.

You tell me if your happy for any one of those individuals to own a gun..

Irrelevant and irrational. Irrelevant in that anyone could have one legal or not. If you're walking the streets in some bombed out area of Chicago chances are that any kid you see has one and it is illegal.

Irrational in that everyday fools, morons, sadists and idiots perform functions and have access to materials with far greater destructive potential than any gun.

Yes, the SAS are Britain's heros.

Except, of course, when some of them murder the most famous woman in the world.

I'm sorry if I can't answer your question. Maybe I was wrong to presume that Israeli support, would mean Mossad intelligence.

The point I'm trying to make is that people seem to desire media reports that resemble the narrative of a Hollywood movie. With a James Bond or Jason Bourne type character being the hero of the day. So he saved 100 or 101 or 99? He's SAS or Royal marine?

Just give me the facts of what's happening. I'm not interested in heroes and villains. Save that for the movies.

I'm not really sure how else I can answer your question.

and yet.. its normal every day people using guns to perform massacres in everyday public places.. they're not using benches, pot plants, baseball bats, LCD panels, or knives or other readily available ''materials'' to commit instantaneous mas murder.. are they?

It's not normal. If it were it wouldnt be news. Think of the over 30,000 that die in the US every year in car wrecks. That's "normal." Think of the 600,000 who die every year from heart disease. That's "normal."

Benches and pots are not the far more destructive means I was alluding to. Bombs, poisons, unrestricted access to water and food supplies, positions in medical, food, mechanical, and other services...

The postal delivery worker, for example, is in a position to wreak immense havoc yet nobody fears him.

A hardware store and a paper route can end in as of yet unseen suffering for an entire city block.

This story is very interesting and for more than just the reason the heroism behind it but who is is.

At first they said he was SAS and now he is a retired Royal Marine who just happened to be sitting in the right place a the right time armed.

I can only speculate but there could be a whole load more behind this and its just that the UK have been unable to keep it out of the press and now are covering up with a little back tracking.

One could speculate but...

What if this guy was working with British Intelligence conducting surveillance on the UK suspect Samantha Lewthwait when this all went down and he got caught up in the middle.

Again that is only speculation but its interesting to also not that 22SAS are also now said to be aiding Kenyan authorities with the operation to clear out the remaining terrorists.

I think given the established relationships between Kenya and British police and armed forces, its safe to assume that at the very least 22 were on the way there within minutes of the event occurring. Especially since COBRA met almost immediately. The fact that they called a COBRA meeting within a very short space of time, when events on the ground were still chaotic, inclines me to believe that some element of British Security was on the ground when the attack happened.

Note: Its quite possible that the 'ex royal marine' is an active or reserve member of SAS. Fact is he was on the ground when it happened and he happened to have a firearm in his possession. So its unlikely he was there on his holidays.

As a rule Brits do not confirm or deny when SAS are involved in armed operations in other countries.

Then again he could just be an expat.

An armed off-duty officer of the military saved the day and wasn't prosecuted for doing his duty?

An off duty SAS soldier who was visting the Westgate Mall st the time is credited with saving
100 people. Armed with a handgun he escorted people from the mall to safety - returning some
dozen times to rescue people trapped inside by terrorist attack

Isn't shooting itself involving armed individuals - and what they can do...

Tragic, isn't it - use flawed logic...

Would you feel better if we all have guns?

I see "but he's trained" is popping up a lot here.

So then I can assume repealing the Clinton era law that made Fort Hood and the Navy Yard "gun free" is okay by all of you?

You know, so we can let these "trained" people actually protect themselves and each other.

Sorry, where in that article does it say he's SAS, ex or otherwise?

I'm not basing him - far from it - the man is a true hero in every sense of the word. But the article says he's an ex-marine. Apart from blurring his face for security reasons, which, true, they always do on SAS members, it doesn't explicitly say he's SAS.

Though, I hope he is, as it only reinforces my firm belief they are the best trained special forces in the world, hands down.

I find it all very suspicious for these reasons.

1/Its Israeli owned shopping mall.

2/Israeli elite forces were on the scene almost immediately.

3/ A British elite operative just happen to be having coffee, armed, in a busy shopping center, smack bang in the middle of a major terrorists attack.

This whole scenario stinks of tuna.
