No, care to provide a valid source for that claim?

Do I need to show Youtube video of Iran's videoing of the U.S. Carrier,

Please do.... Hey, I have pictures of a US carrier also, what is the significance of that?

Russia has been overflying our Carriers for the last few years. Nothing ever came of it though. But for reference, here are some links.

Russian Planes Overfly US Carrier - ABC News

Russian Warplane Flies Over U.S Carrier - Washington Post

And in regards to Iran and their drones.. here is a link to the footage:

Iranian Drones Observing US Carrier

And here is the Youtube footage.. nothing spectacular.

As far as what I've read Syria has been provided.. Russia has given them a bunch of P-800 anti-ship missiles. I'm sure if they are attacked they would use them. They've also got plenty of S-200 and S-200V's, and possibly S-300 anti-air systems, and supposedly over 5000 anti-air batteries. Make no mistake.. this will not be an Iraq. Planes WILL get shot down. Lives WILL be lost. Let us not forget the last war we got involved in with Russia backing the opposition.

I'm just not understanding what our need is to get involved? We don't have enough issues of our own? All Obama is trying to do is distract from his god awful presidency. IRS, NSA, Bengazi, etc etc etc.

And the French have been overflying Russian, Chinese, German etc. etc. ships. So have the British, the Americans, in fact any country with aircraft capable of it have been overflying other countries ships since man first flew....

Did you read the comments? you missed this one.....

Some of the jets on deck are clearly F-4 Phantoms from the angled tails, this is just some video taken from a helicopter in the 1980's by from idiot navy guy with a camcorder. Very poor trolling Iran lol.

Slava, the Russian cruiser, didn't steam to the destination, because of its enormous firepower, but because of its updated and very sophisticated detection gear. Russians agreed on providing Assad with the best possible information about the expected missile attack - about its tactical aspects. It's sort of a similar situation as it existed during the Falklands war waged between the UK and Argentina where US military intelligence supplied data gathered by the network of US spy satellites to the British military.

I can assure you that the russian military satellites, like the Molniya-1 and 2, will handle that task without any problems. You do not move large cruisers fregats and destroyers to do the job of a late gen military comsat.

What these ships will do is probably form some form of shield that takes out incoming cruise missiles once the sats detect their launch. Thus sparing Syria impacts on their main land targets.

I bet when that happens Putin will plaster the whole internet with youtube movies of thsi event, humiliating the war hores in Pentagon and the White house.

Nice sentiment though.

So why would Russia be sending SSBN's - who do they plan to nuke?

Putin really wants a war by the sound of it!

Huh?

Russia really wants to defend an ally from a rabid, dying AGGRESSOR nation. I don't no how anything could be more clear.

If you stand back and look at all of this like a chess board, you will realize that Russia has EVERYTHING to gain by striking us. I truely believe that Putin is only waiting for an excuse, and Obama seems determined to give him one.

Striking us will inevitably put Russia back on top as the worlds superpower.

They have worked hard since the end of the cold war. Rebuilding their nation, their army, their economy. Russia is strong and ready to be back on top.

I do not believe the UN and their "laws" will last long once this starts. I think they all tried it out and found they do not like it one bit.

None of them can stand the US's government. AND neither can the citizens of the US. This wouldnt just start WW3, which would end quickly. It would start civil war like chaos here. Not to mention, we do not have the money to fund a war, let alone survive one. We sure as hell dont have a country full of passionate fighters like we once had.
Russia has already created a new world currency and has taken it to the other countries. The moment he knocks the US down a peg or two he can start that up and we are done for.

Well put. What some of the 'Gung-ho, Maaa and Paaa, we are invinsible, americans, ihaaa'-types on this thread forget, is that China stands ready to participate in agreement with Putin. Their move will probably be two proned. First they dump a trillion of US treasures on the market thus crashing the system on wall street (perhaps you noticed they , like the indians have vacuumed the market on gold the last two years). Second, they will use the US attack on Syria as an excuse to attack Taiwan or at least start some incident that excuses an attack. So to them the syria atack is a very welcomed excuse to redirect problems from home and start expanding.

Perhaps you remember a couple of years ago, Medvedev showing a gold coin after his visit to China? Well once the big smackdown begins in the Syrian bath tube and the Chinese goes all Sell on the ten year and thirty year US treasury, making the little prancies on wall street scream like hogs for slaughter, Putin will probably announce certain economic changes on the international oil market.

The chess board is big and it has many well prepared players. Obama who cant see the difference between chess and toilet paper, playing golf every week of the year , will not see this coming, or believe it, once informed about it by his more intelligent advisors.

I can almost see USAF General Larry Spencer before me, telling his pilots in his slow funny dialect (Texas/washington mix);

"Now boys, when these scumbags starts shooting, we go in whole Hog, Texas style! You got that?!"

"Yes sir, Iiiiihaaaa". Testosteronfilled to the gills, the pilots run to their F22 raptors and F-16s and take off towards a glorious Texas BBQ death, on some Syrian hill of no importance.

Meantime, at home, Kerry prepares the next batch of lies before a congressional hearing and Chuck Hagel just wish he were anywhere else but there...staring at the cameras with his usual..."what? what? I am innocent, cant u see that?" - look.

Russian does not want to loose their only access to the Mediterranian Sea from the Tartus base in Syria.
China, Russia and a bunch of other countries do not want America on their door step as they all ready
have boots in Iraq and Afghanistan.
I doubt they are that stupid to do anything once US attacks Syria with missiles but if the US goes any
further I am sure they will push back hard. China will sit on the bench and watch what happens, then will
pick sides.

Not to rain on the Doomsday Parade, but I followed the provided links in the original post, and didn't find mention of 'destroyers and frigates'...the Moskva is escorted by one of each. There's also no mention of a Typhoon-class SSBN in the group. The articles mention RAF Typhoons being in the area, and a Russian anti-submarine vessel, but no Typhoon-class submarine.

There's also the minor point that the Russians are calling this a routine ship rotation. Whether that's the case or not is certainly open to debate, but if the point of bringing a force into an area is to send a 'diplomatic signal', why make it look like something routine? The Russians aren't known for taking the subtle approach when it comes to that sort of signal, after all.

Molniyas 1 and 2 were communication satellites and got nothing to do with tracking tomahawks.
