The article indicates the (unfortunate) bomber would have to inject another liquid into the ah ... site of the currently implanted explosive.

I can just see that, TSA chasing a Muslim woman holding a syringe around the airport as she tries to jab herself in the boob.

The initial bladder would probably have old-school "soup" also known as nitroglycerin. Not detectible by metal detectors, and would probably pass thru x-ray with no problem, as it is a liquid.
Detonation would be achieved by a chest smack, or a TSA agent groping too hard.

It's not the "Breast Bombs" i'd be worried about
but rather the SURGICALLY IMPLANTED BODY BOMBS
that are could be implanted within the stomach
cavities using binary chemical timers that
when activated by a secondary ingested chemical
can cause a deflagration event (i.e. mini-explosion)
that will then detonate the PRIMARY implanted explosive
such as Semtex or C4 which can be encased in body-acid
resistant NON-METAL CASINGS. For maximum impact,
the PRIMARY EXPLOSIVE is surrounded by ultra-hard
ceramic pellets which will become the shrapnel which can
open up an airplane fuselage like a can-opener when accelerated
by an SURGICALLY IMPLANTED BODY BOMB explosion!

Most humans of say 180 to 220 pounds could be safely
implanted with around 4 to 20 pounds of SEMTEX or C4
which is a REALLY BIG EXPLOSION! and NO metal detector
would find it and NEITHER would the backscatter X-Ray
machines used at many US airports.

that are vulnerable to stomach acids can be manufactured
that dissolve within a SET PERIOD OF TIME which will then
react with the hydrochloric acid in the human stomach to cause

These DETONATION PILLS can be swallowed just before entering
the airport security area early enough that the timer-tube

and the resulting "internal fire" would detonate the PRIMARY EXPLOSIVE
and blow the bomber and anything around him/her to absolute smithereens!

SO NOPE! We got MUCH BIGGER WORRIES than booby bombs!

i think they got the idea from drug mules that have been using "breast implants" to smuggle drugs.

detonators don't have to look like detonators. it could look like a perfectly harmless clock for example. so that is really not an issue, to get by the x-ray machine.

and lets be honest those "wonderful" body scanners they use are USELESS. i have been through them and they show "issues" but are COMPLETELY IGNORED, due to the fact that sweat shows up on them as an anomaly. seriously i went through the first time, looked at the monitor and it showed a couple "anomalies" (portrayed on the screen as a "yellow spot". one was my belt (oops)), but a couple other places were present but they were not checked at all, being a bit freaked out because of them i asked the agent about it. he said "don't worry, it is most likely just sweat. after whenever i go through i try to look at the screen and sure enough there are spots shown that they didn't bother to check. i understand "boobies" tend to sweat so so much for their wonderful scanner being even remotely useful.
