It sort of ties in with the NSA jist of stuff at the moment, people posting their mind often forget that its there for ALL to read on sites like that and often even if its meant to be personal others will repost it elsewhere making it worldwide.

Now I'm all for free speech but as with everything there HAS to be a limit imposed because the difference between free speech and hate speech is so little these days especially if street slang rears its ugly head. The reason I single out street slang is simple, like with most of today's ways of communicating, its been bastardised and shortened, words with odd multi meanings are now normal, the very language we speak is being destroyed. Swearing and stereo-typing has been made a social norm among 'the street', naming a person's colour seems to be used both as an attack and a show of affection, this has no course but to lead to division.

i h8 u is an abomination in language, lets get back to talking rather than texting and speaking your native language the way it was taught in school!

But back more on topic, racism has no place in society, I thought we had seen the end of it in the UK after the 80's, Black, White, Indian / Asian lived well along each other with only the hardcore on any side trying to keep the old barriers up, mostly the people especially the young grew up together yet lately I've noticed a strong surge in America with the Black / White divide, its unnerving to see as the US ways often reflect in other countries trends, normally for the fun and good side but this could be a huge downturn.

As part of a mixed race marriage I URGE people to keep the peace and continue to realise we are all humans and need to grow together to keep this flimsy planet and existence going.

Before there isn't one...

Until we ALL get passed such trivial biological BS such as skin colour, then there will forever be division and as such racism will never die. Walls need to come down and perceptions be smashed. It's going to be a long time as both far right and far left seem to be ironically both anti-unity on an equal level.

I think Trayvon thought he was doing the right thing by attacking George, thought he had every right to jump him.

I remember being that young and thinking I knew it all, and could do it all. GZ certainly would not have intimidated me when when I was 17. I have no doubt that TM was not afraid, nor intimidated by GZ. TM thought he could beat GZs behind, and decided that was just what he was going to do, and that was his fatal mistake.

If GZ hadn't shot TM, TM would have most likely gone to prison.

You don't get it. All indications of your posts tell me you thought it was alright for TM to jump GZ, and beat him up.

You are putty in the hands of the people who want more police, more laws, more regulation of the individual.

The only solution is never going to happen. It would entail doing away with all means of media, from the MSM to your run of the mill "hate group" blogger. If there weren't all of these mediums stirring up and encouraging racial tension the hatred might die down without pre-conceived notions being pumped into people's brains. Of course hatred would still exist for a time, but as those who remember the nonsense died off there would finally be a chance for racial harmony. Too bad that will never happen.

Paula Deen said something stupid and offensive, (not just to black people - but to ALL people). You think she only said that word ONCE, 30 years ago? Yeah right! People who use that word DON'T say it only once. She's being sued, (and losing), because of the climate she encouraged at different businesses. She's being sued, and dropped by smart sponsors, because of her business practices, which include harrassing her employees, allowing pornography to be viewed, and regular use of racist comments. However, since you apparently have no problem identifying people by their race, ('Hating on Whitey'), it's easy to belive that you're willing to forgive and forget. That tells me that you've probably never been the victim of racism. I'm not conviced, however, that you've never been on the other side of that equation. Paula Deen is DONE. Good ridence.

There are no solutions. Mankind is hardwired to fear what he doesn't understand. That fear manifest itself as racism and hatred. Even though we seem civilized and sophisticated with our fantastic technology; in reality we humans are still primitive and would revert back to brutal selfish savages, in a harsh unforgiving environment with out all the false trappings of civilization. The veneer of civilization is very, very thin. On the evolutionary scale; humans are still children.

The only way I see out of our current morass is for some type of global spiritual enlightenment.

The best we can do is to conduct ourselves in an individually honorable manner and hope others do the same.

It's possible to sow the seeds of hatred and racism with harsh words and criticism. We are all guilty!

im saying that...TM "jumping" GZ... is fabricated

if there was an altercation before the shooting... then it was down to GZ confronting TM

isnt TMs fault he could defend himself...


but as i said..i significantly doubt that there is a case of self defence..with the underlying factors leading up to the shooting

Zimmerman's height is shown as 5′7″ (1.70 m); and his weight as 185 lb (84 kg) on his Seminole County Sheriff's Office Inmate Booking Information dated April 11, 2012, the date of his arrest. His weight was not recorded on the initial police report.

Martin's height is shown as 6'0″ (1.8 m); and his weight as 160 lb (72 kg) on his Seminole County Sheriff's Office Victim Information dated February 26, 2012.

Here is a link to the actual police report. As you can see Martin is listed as 6' 160 LBS. (I must have accidentally switched their weights) and Zimmerman is listed as 5'9 with no weight. His actual height is 5'7 making him nearly a half a foot shorter than Martin. I boxed from 16-22 (Even at a collegiate level). At 5'10 I weighed 175 making me quite a beefy guy. I had to quit because for my weight bracket I was going up against guys who were the same weight, but 3-7" taller than I was. The height difference alone would give them point advantages.

I once started talking to a woman in line at the store, we both had teens the same age and had a discussion about teens going. Later getting in the car my fiance mentioned she was black.

You know, I had not noticed, which is odd since we had few blacks in our town. I simply have never noticed the outside of anyone first, not their cloths their variations in color but the look in their eyes and whether they are friendly or not. That is the solution, stop thinking about such a tiny difference and look for what is common to all of us.

I took the first one I saw...

The most recent pictures of the boy and of the man at the time would lead me to believe Mr. Zimmerman feeling in threat of death by only the kids hands and no weapon seems odd.

By the way my husband is 6'2" and 225 lbs and he is scrawny, arms legs shoulders all except the middle soooo that has not much to tell us. Many of the best pro fighters are short not tall. My ex husband was built just like Mr Zimmerman, he was hispanic also, he considered pro fighting he was so good, no one ever won in a match with him.

If by confronting, you mean asking why Trayvon was there, that isn't a crime, and definitely does not fall under the category assault.

If you mean "defend himself" as punching GZ for asking a question, then you are wrong.

All evidence points to TM punching GZ for asking a question, and that is a crime committed by TM. Looks like he jumped GZ, knocked him down, and tried to seriously hurt GZ. GZ was able to roll TM off and get up, and that is when TM went for GZs gun, and wound up dead.

People get let off for self defense all the time, and that is what will most likely happen this time.

Reminds me of an incident that happened about five years ago. A man and his grandson were in Oakland, going to their car, when a couple of thugs, 18 and 19, punched the grandson, and the grandfather yelled at them, so they beat up the grandfather, and he died.

Now those fools are spending most of their lives in prison.

You don't punch someone in the face because you feel insulted, or don't like someone talking to you. If you do, you should go to jail, and if you wind up dead, it was your own fault, at least partially.
