As reported below the Chinese are backing the Iranians in their goal to keep and maintain their nuclear energy program and plants. While France, Germany and Britain have warned of international sanctions being imposed if they do not comply. If China uses her veto powers this will undoubtedly upset the Western Political Powers.

China Backs Iran Amid 'Difficult' Nuclear Talks With EU (06/11/2004)

China gave Iran crucial backing in its stand-off with the UN's nuclear watchdog, with Beijing saying it opposed US efforts to have the Islamic republic referred to the United Nations Security Council.

The comments from Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing came as officials from Britain, France and Germany were trying to persuade Iran to limit its sensitive nuclear activities or risk possible international sanctions.

It was later announced from Paris that the talks had made "considerable progress" towards reaching a preliminary agreement on Tehran's nuclear program.

However Iran's top nuclear negotiator had earlier described the talks as "difficult" and said both sides were sticking to their positions.

"There is no reason to send the issue to the Security Council," Li said at a press conference with his Iranian counterpart, Kamal Kharazi.

"It would only make the issue more complicated and difficult to work out," Li said, contradicting Washington by saying, "the Iranian government is having a very positive attitude in its cooperation" with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

Li refused to speculate on whether China would use its veto in the Security Council in the event of Iran's case being sent there

If China veto'd such a action I would kiss their WTO status goodbye IMO including the US's most favored nation status with them. China has never done anything in the 1st place to acquire those rewards anyways besides spitting in Americas face as often as possible.

Well, you have to understand and accept that China wants to be the #1 superpower on Earth, and will succede in doing so, since they are destroying the American economy.

Soon, Americans will be begging the Chinese to help them.

Thats not true at all, if America removed China from the WTO and took away most favored nation status China would have a HUGE economic problem. Dont forget capitolism brings forth democracy and much of China is not "communist" so to speak. They are often brought down by the government, the people have a totally different attitude and thats from speaking with many Chinese and visiting before.

Right, but the major corporations will never allow China to be removed from the WTO, so that is wishful thinking.

And let's be honest with ourselves, like Nader says, Washington is corporate-occupied territory.

China kiss her WTO ass good bye ? We forget ourselves; China is on the verge of becoming an economic superpower and could very well be the biggest trader with the U.S. in years to come..

I hope China does use it's power of Veto, i mean, the U.S. has used it against any resolution slapped on it or Isreal for years; and regarding human rights, let's not even get started...

Go China !

I'm an Turkish Citizen.
I'm an American Citizen.

I'm a descendant of the Ottomans...and I know what happens to people whose leaders become arrogant, and unchallenged.

So I'm glad someone is finally standing up to America.

Throughout history, all empires have fallen...do you think that would never happen to you? Do you think that America would always be on top?

How DARE you call Americans "arrogant"??

You come on an AMERIACAN website. On a computer INVENTED in the USA,
over the network that was also invented and maintained by the US, and insult all Americans.

Talk about arrogance and condescending attitude.

That's exactly what I'm talking about, and that's exactly why America will fall.

P.S. Not a single part of my computer was made in America. And the corporations who maintain the internet have no allegiance to any nation, they allegiance lies with $$$. We'll see who's right...I actually believe that within 15 years, America's economic standing will be lucky to be in the top 5 on Earth.

Remember Earth? It's the planet you live on, and you don't own it. There are many other countries with way more people than you, and they aren't apathetic and lazy. So we'll see.

I was born in America actually. I even live in a red state. And I'll be glad to leave this failed state as soon I can. And by the way, they don't censor # over there, they actually allow more freedom of expression, but an ignorant fool like yourself wouldn't know that.

Read the post before this one. I added to it, and would enjoy your response.

That's nothing but a lie. The internet is censored in Turkey.

As for US economic dominance, the United States has always been on the forefront of new technology and innovation.

It doesn't matter that China can build widgets for a penny a piece using slave labor, because we just invented the squidget, and only we know how to make it.

We control economies by releasing new technology. Making older systems obsolete, including their manufacture, therefore maintaining our well deserved status.

How long do you think that is going to last? And the widgets and squidgets argument was fine in the 80s, but in this new century, when all the technology jobs are heading overseas, how long do you think this will be true?

America had a great run...an AMAZING run. But the cycle continues...the ebb and flow. Up and down.

Down...up...now here comes down, again.

You really believe that American technology is at it's end?

That's why I said we purposely hold back on releasing our latest advancements.

America is not on the way down. But we are at a major crossroads between ethics and capitalism.

We cannot allow slavery and starvation in the world when we have the technology to stop it.

And free energy systems will make slavery itself obsolete.
I believe this is the only way we can combat the socialist worlds' economic struggle with us, without of course becoming even more socialist ourselves, just to compete and survive.

I didn't say it would be all over all of a sudden, but it America declining? Absolutely.
Where do you think we'll be in 2010? It's only 5 years from now.

We will all be travelling around in hovercars powered with electromagnetic Tesla "batteries".

There will be a new national highway system built just for Semis.

At the same time, high speed mag-lev rail systems will be built connecting all cities.

The greatest new invention in the world will become mainstream, making all forms of current power generation obsolete, and making slavery and famine obsolete.

The entire planet will be completely different. Modern wars won't be fought over energy sources, but over pure ideology.

Our standard of living is higher now than it ever was, I have seen several dips like this in the past and will see more in the future. To be poor in America USUALLY means no big screen TV.

I live pretty close to what most would call the poverty line and live pretty comfortable. America is not on any decline I can see.
