When I was a teen I was talking on the phone when lightning struck near the house (grew up near railroad tracks also) and came through the supposedly GROUNDED phone line and blew me across the room so hard my head put a hole in the sheetrock. That happened to my niece a couple of years ago! She was on the phone while standing near a window during a bad storm, and it came through the phone and sent her sailing across the room! She had to go to the E.R.
As far as I know, it didn't do any severe damage other than bruises, and loss of hearing for awhile in that ear.

I won't answer my phone during a storm. I've heard too many stories similar to this.

Having my first three cups of coffee now, waking up. YAWN! SSSTTTRRREEECCCHHH! Ahhhhh.....

Your niece is a very lucky young lady! It's a wonder she wasn't fried like a crispy critter! I thank my lucky stars every day that all I lost was partial hearing- at least once a year or better I read or hear about someone killed by a lightning strike. Just two days ago a house in a nearby town burned to the ground after being struck by lightning.....just terrible!

I am a snooty tea drinker. Brewing loose leaves and such . Am I bad person ?

I can count how many cups of coffee I've had in the last ten years ,on mmmaayybbbe one hand ,and those times are just when I've had a chickory coffee in New Orleans with my begnets ,as its expected. I never finish it either.
I love coffee ice cream tho ,and have it as often as the chickory coffee.

My iPad is messing up already!!! Grrr....

I drink all kinds of tea
Red,white,green ,black.
The only kind I do not like ,is earl grey . I hate the stuff .
Love a good black tea with milk and sugar .
Right now,I'm drinking a Japanese genmacha ,with honey and apple cider vinegar.
Yummy,and good for ya too . I'm also watching Godzilla vs Space Godzilla. It's 9 am here.
