It's not in New Orleans- it's a franchise. They have some really awesome food though. The jambalaya and the fried boudain balls rock, and the gumbo is almost as good as homemade!

I know how,different it is. I went all the time . Went when I was 19 the first time .
Gone a bunch since Katrina ,and what's different is ,its been bought up by people who aren't natives .
People left their businesses,and never went back . Outsiders bought it up . So its not the same at all in that respect.
All the strip joints are run by Mexicans now.

And as much as a love Japanese food,there shouldn't be a Japanese restaurant in the FQ .

I had to put one of my babies to sleep yesterday. It was a hard day . Not feeling great . Having a cuppa . Finished a good book . Now I'm sad.

Tell me about it! Last time we went I headed for the gift shops on Bourbon Street. My hubby's boss wanted a shirt like an old one he wore to the shop one day, so on the off chance I could find one for him I went on a "mission". I never found the same shirt, but I found that several of the gift shops are now run by foreigners. I found him one online instead. T&Cs prevent me from saying what the shirt says!

So sorry to hear about your baby. Our furry friends become like our own family members and it is hard to lose them. I lost one of my dogs a few months back after being struck several times by a poisonous snake. My grandgirl still asks me every so often where he is and it makes me sad when I have to explain it all over again. I still don't think she really understands.
