Hi viking,my opinion is,because a lot of dreams come from one's subconscious, they can actually be a valuable tool,to discover things that your subconcious mind is trying to tell you.I look at them as a bit of extra insight one may not otherwise have had.Even if you're a person who knows yourself very well indeed, and are given to introspection on your emotional responses,motivatations,etc-this is still you analysing the conscious mind, and you can only analyse and examine that which you are aware of.The subconscious holds the things you may have suppressed,or have gone consciously unnoticed because of the busyness and clutter of everyday waking life.Or things you purposefully avoid confronting, for any number of reasons,eg people, situations, emotions.
The trick is to open your mind to view dreams as helpful clues and pointers, not just random natural occurences(although of course everyone does get some dreams that are just the equivalent of cartoons/mental fluff, but those tend to not leave much of an impression)The other trick is of course,to find the time to really analyse and think, about the dreams, good, bad or ugly, that Does leave impressions, and are either recurring,or unforgettable.Well that's my take on it,very briefly.

Hi Maddy, wow that's unusual, yes.Bees are often associated with busyness, hard work-could it be that at the time you were snowed under with too much work, too much pressure put on you, either by yourself,or others-figuratively,working your hands to the bone? Interesting one, that, thanks for sharing

I have a reoccuring dream where I am jogging on beach and there are families and children laughing and playing and then all of a sudden, as if switches off the light... Im left running on this endless beach alone in the dark, the beach lit up only by a massive full moon, massive waves crashing onto the shore on my left and about 800m to my right are gigantic steep rocky cliffs

I keep running at a steady pace along the beach that has no end insight, until at some point I realise that I am being followed by something that I cant see - i cant look behind me, its just always straight ahead, jogging.

i eventually realise it is the moon or light source that is stalking me and I realise that I cant continue running forever, and the only way to get away is to run into the water, the massive massive waves are crashing against me trying to hold me back and just as my head is about to go under the water - I wake up

this dream is real to me as a real run on the beach, the crunch of the sand under my feet, the cold waves, everything.

it always freaks me out cos I wake up with such a sense of despair and helplessness, the moon never succeeds in catching me but the feeling I get is that it is more like cat toying with a mouse and at any stage I would be caught - and drowning is my only choice

reply to post by Arolexion

Hi Arolexion,i have to disagree-about being immune from nightmares if one does'nt do bad stuff. When i had my horrible recurring nightmare for years,as a small child-i was not doing bad stuff-i was an innocent small child.Although the house we lived in had evil entities in it,but i can of course not say for sure if that had anything to do with it directly. Most likely it did'nt help things though.A lot of really, really good people, much better than myself, don't do bad stuff, yet they suffer horrific nightmares, sleep paralysis, etc.I can agree with you that porn is not a good thing, because it makes of sex, which should be a private, intimate act of great tenderness, love, trust and caring-a very base act.It turns something that should be special into not much more than the normal natural acts of dogs, cats and livestock-rutting.But as this thread is about dreams and not sex or porn, let's stick to that.

I respect your opinion and point of view, but mine is that the nightmares one have, seldom correspond to whether you do "good" or "bad" things. As an example-a prostitute may be seen by most of society as doing a "bad" thing-yet if she does it to support her children, and she is by nature a loving, caring, helpful person and a good mother-does that mean she is more likely to have horrific nightmares than,say-a very prim and proper woman, who is by nature aloof, coldhearted, judgemental, who does'nt spare a penny for a hungry homeless person-who will rather tell the hungry that she will pray for them, instead of just buying them one measly bread..who never has a kind word to say about anyone, who has little or no sympathy for the plight of others-even though she sits in church every Sunday along with the other good churchladies, and don't watch anything except gospel shows because everything else is "evil"?

I suppose if you commited murder,or major crimes, you can expect nightmares out of guilt and/or fear of being caught-aside from that,i dont think there's a connection. Thanks for your reply anyway.

Hi old-god thanks for your reply, that sounds fascinating. Was the grid like a hologram,or did it look like a solid thing? When you said:"now i understand"-do you have any memory of what it was, that you felt an understanding of?

Hi trustnoone, thanks for sharing, and my sympathy, that does sound like a very depressing nightmare, and the fact that it's recurring,is bad.I can relate, some dreams leave one with a heavy feeling, like a weight on your life,or as if you're still by some invisible cord attached to the emotions and atmosphere of the dream.Wish i could take that dream away for you:-)
I had a dream earlier this month during an afternoon nap-that felt like work, best way i can explain. And strange thing is,during the last few seconds of the dream,i realised i was about to wake up.Myself and a man was vigorously debating/arguing about something that had to be done. All i remember is,i disagreed, and as i was slipping out of the dream,he was urgently and anxiously insisting:"No,it Has to be done in this way!" Then i woke up,in a bad, depressed "heavy" mood that lasted for days.I think that was a level 2 dream, how i classify mine, level 2 would be interdimensional astral-travel "dreams".

I have a recurring nightmare. The details are different every time, but it's essentially the same. I'm being chased and eventually and caught and locked up or killed and that's when I wake up. Sometimes it's police. Sometimes gangsters. Couple times it was just everyone I know. That one was really crazy.

Dreams can definitely be you're subconscious telling you something your conscious mind is to busy to see. Like if you look up this type of dream I have, it'll tell you it could be that you're avoiding something. When it first got really bad, I had a horribly abscessed tooth I was avoiding getting worked on because it'd lead to a ton of other stuff. The dream got really bad...every night. Couple weeks later the tooth was actually making me sick. Could have killed me. Got my teeth fixed and it stopped for a bit. I'm working through a ton of stuff, though. It came back. Getting there, though. Have a feeling I won't have it for a while after some decisions I made tonight.

Hi there Dannkk,i understand that.My hideous vampire dream(the first part of it) was about a relative and someone very close to my relative-who in real life was draining me mentally and emotionally, and hurting me-hence my relative in the movie actually managing to draw some blood, even if just from my hand. That's why i hate having no dream recall, sometimes for long periods of time-because dreams Do bring clarity,or act as confirmation. Thanks for your reply.

Hi neilarm, yes evil entities are definitely around, but as i always say to my children, what's there in the dark,is there in the light-i just think,in the light of day people's awareness are not so keen.Night always seem to bring us closer to our primal/primitive past+accompanying sharper awareness of possible menace or sense of danger,at least that's my theory,on why people are, even if on a subconscious level, usually more likely to be anxious/nervous and why some are outright afraid of the dark. Thanks for your reply.

Hi zysin,i've heard of people Thinking they've woken from a dream/nightmare,and found no,they're Still in it-and for quite a few times..that must be just..freaky to the max.

My son had this theory, when he was 5 he told me:"This life is just a dream, and we will all die while we are dreaming. We wake up in the future when we die here-we are alive in the future" Thanks for your reply.

Hi threepwood- i grew up in a spirit-infested house-luckily they did'nt hurt me physically, but a pitchblack shadow-figure appeared out of a fog in the corner of my room one day, also stood there for the longest time, just standing with his head bent, looking down at me-i was wide awake when that happened-could'nt make out any features,no matter how hard i tried.I was'nt scared, because it had the silhouette of my deceased father, same bodyshape, and i did'nt feel it meant me any harm. After a while i just turned my back to it+went to sleep. Thanks for sharing

I had a really vivid dream once where I was at a friend's house. We were upstairs and we heard something glass falling and shattering on the floor. We came down to find her cat covered in blood and unconcious with broken glass on the floor around her. I went to help, but the cat was unresponsive. That was when I woke up.

The next day, I called my friend up and asked her if she had any glass items that weren't put back where they were supposed to be. She told me she had a glass bowl on the edge of the kitchen sink and I said, "Well, PUT IT BACK!".

This was one of those dreams that seemed so real, that when you wake up you say, "Oh, thank God that was just a dream!".

When I was a kid, I used to have a recurring nightmare about a hairy monster that was just a big head with long brown fur that stuck out that would completely fill up the end of the hallway in my family's house and it would breath in and suck in me and my whole family and everything would turn black. That's when I would wake up.

There was another time that I had a dream where I dreamt that I kept waking up over and over again. Needless to say, I felt tired and miserable the rest of the day.

Last year I had one of the most disturbing experiences in my life. In the dream I was lying in my bed and I had one of the thin bed sheets over my head. And through the thin bed sheet a green light, kinda like a laser pointer, glowed through the sheet. The green light started on the sheet by my waist but didn't shine on my skin. It just slowly went up the sheet towards my head. When the green light got to my head and shined on my face I instantly began to smile. Uncontrollably. Against my will my face was smiling. So much it hurt. I could not get my body to stop. I could not move or get up either. And as this was going on I felt extremely scared and helpless. After that I woke up sweating. So much that the bed was soaked on my side of the bed. It all felt so real. It felt like someone was there manipulating me with some technology and then left. I could not go back to sleep after that and stayed up the rest of the night.

Hi there IR-that dream of yours is of particular interest to me,for the reason that it makes me think of an alien abduction experience, not saying i think you're possibly an abductee, just the strange green light, and you not being in control of your body, reminds me of this type of thing. Thanks for sharing.
I will give you a link to another thread of mine, just in case you're interested. If not, please disregard,i don't want you to feel you have to.Have a good day
