Hello everybody!

I have been reading posts here for a year or so(off and on). I have checked out several other message boards and decided to join this one. I was mostly impressed with the level of intelligence of discussions here.

I am a stay-at home mom. At times it feels as if my brain is turning to mush. Engaging in intellectual debate seems like a good way to combat this.

Special interests: current events and secret societies.

Unrelated interests: cooking, gardening, reading(The Little Prince is my favorite), music(I help out with my husband's music career) and homesteading.

Welcome.
This site will certainly prevent your brain from turning to mush but be careful, following some threads may turn your brain into a miasmic goo that will run out your ear.
Some times you may do better working your garden (if that's what you mean by homesteading)

Ha! I can see that happening.

Well, yes, gardening would be part of homesteading. As well as animals, food preservation, making my own cleaning products. We try to be as self-sufficient as possible. We aren't big on consuming.

I had to look up Hoosier
I am a yooper, you have to look that up if you want to know what that is. Welcome to the site. It is good to see you desire to exercise your mind. They say that using your mind helps keep us from getting Alzheimer disease. Well, sorting through the threads here definitely make you think a lot. Hope you drink coffee, this site will keep you up way past your bedtime if something interesting is going on.

Yay! I always feel like I am in the minority. It's nice to know I'm not totally alone.

While I am not a sweets person at all...I LOVE cheesecake.

Sweets and my tummy don't like each other..so on one hand that's good, but on the other....I can't pass up a cheesecake.

So quick question... Do the numbers in your name represent anything..0421?

And here I thought everyone knew what a Hoosier was! My husband saved me from having to google "yooper". I guess you really do learn something new every day.

I drink coffee...all day, every day. I have weaned myself off of energy drinks(or "heart attack drinks", as I call them).

That would be massive! Ours is 30 feet x 100 feet. It's overwhelming at that size! I couldn't imagine an acre garden.
