It would be pretty cool timing if a "Rod from God" took out the launch site about now. Great coming out exhibition for the system and would make many sit up and take notice. Is it really true?

There is always Cobra Dane to guide anything from the US to the target. An Aegis from the West Coast fires an SM-3 and using steering data from Cobra Dane, no more satellite to worry about.

lets say you have a missile
it has a conventional head on it
the conventional head is wrapped in cobalt 60 powder
(from the congo, not hard to come by at all, cooked up in the reactors that NK has, thank Rummie Rumspheld)

you shoot it down or it goes off over anything
you have a hundred years of dirty death right there

having said that
I still think NK is just running a screen for their banker overlords...they need the dough
the bankers i mean

Depends on who you talk to. Some say they're up there, some say they were cancelled before being put into orbit. Personally, I think we have a few neat toys up there. Too many classified launches over the years to just be NRO and communications satellites.

Now that honestly DOES make me feel better.... At least we wouldn't lose missile defense nets. All other Military grade systems ought to be hardened well beyond effect. After all, 1950's planes were within drop distance of test shots and flew on to land on their tires...not nose first.

The URL said demo, and after I clicked on it, it went off the air.

Wonder if that means something.

Maybe they looked at their live feed servers, saw it was mainly N.Korea watching them.

There were a few dozen planes and ships under Starfish Prime, and every one of them landed or docked safely. And that was the early days. They've come up with a number of new ways to harden equipment since then, all classified. I don't think militarily, we have anything to worry about.

It's been on for the last hour. Had tried the link at different times the past few days, sometimes it was DMZ, sometimes Japan, sometimes this off air notice. Don't know the schedule though.

Reuters goes off a lot. I think they get overloaded. Give it a few minutes and it'll come back up.

Watching two of many anti-missile setups in an undisclosed location.....

Doubt it.

Doubt it. Its clearly on some sort of a schedule switching form ROK border to Japan.

Are there any other live links for getting information from this area?

Real news?

I'm not sure quite what everyone is looking for on status but here are Seoul Webcams and base status listings for Combined Forces : Korea. (Same as are in my Signature link to status) It's back up (The military combined site)... Bravo on all bases showing at the moment. That would be a good thing.

* I'll save the trouble. Here are Seoul cams....

Cam 1

Cam 2

Cam 3

^^^ All online and showing live. If the test is more than a test......Kim wouldn't screw around. I'd expect Seoul to start getting hit the second Kim thought the world realized he was pulling a fast one and it wasn't going to a test range. (I doubt that's the case....but those cams would go dark or show the worst firework show in human history)

There is nothing but people walking around like ants and cars driving. Pretty interesting being able to view them without them knowing you're watching. Just saying.
