Unfortunately it has taken me this long to get my ISP to fix my e-mail, but I have been following my topics of interest. These include science & consp.'s but my "special interest" is politics. Wow, internet nostalgia. I haven't seen much of that before (so congrats for an original thread), but it makes perfect sense.

Remember the old days, when the 56K had you waiting with a drum roll every time you opened a new page (and as with Christmas, the excitement is in the waiting), In them days, internet porn was but pixellated stick figures and you couldn't get a decent app to learn whale singing, there were no pop-ups for online poker games, trolls lived exclusively in Middle-Earth's forests (not in the Middle East Debate Forum) and psychopaths stalked real people instead of avatars, and people talked about REAL THINGS in the forums...

Yep, those were the days!

I'm nearly reaching 9 years as well, but I must admit I have far less posts than you have! I remember the early looks, quite a nice change yeah. I was actually wondering at the time how long I could possibly stay on a forum, or even how long could a forum last really.

Guess we have an answer so far. And waiting to extend the record.

WOW I must ask you a personal question, how many keyboards have you burned up?
I suppose when you first started they were made here in North America so they probably had some sturdy legs on them.

My guess is now they are from overseas and a little weak in the stamina department.....

Thanks guys. The thing is that the only TV I watch is the NFL. I'd rather be here than watching Judge Judy or 2 and a Half Men. I even get my news here. This is a unique dynamic and it's interesting as hell. Even with those that you disagree with. You are still apt to learn something. Maybe not about a given topic(maybe so) but maybe something about a sociological attitude.

What has the board done for me? #1. Made me think. I thank you all for that. #2. Made me paranoid. Thanks guys. Learned debate skills. Patience. THAT'S a biggie. People have said in this thread that I have contributed well. Thanks. I appreciate it BUT I think I've gotten more from this exchange than given. Or maybe it's reciprocity.
