The whole idea that the left wants to take away anyones riches is absurd.

We want the rates to go BACK to what they were under Clinton. The idea that these rates are a foreign concept is exactly what Limbaugh is trying to do. From some of these replies, I see it's working.

Taker class? The real taker class IS the wealthy, taking the money right out of OUR country and reinvesting it off the shores of the Caymen Islands.

This sentence explains a lot of the crazy left thinking. They simply don't understand how things work. How do you invest in the Cayman islands? You mean all the rich people store their money in the Cayman islands? Do they go visit it and roll around in it? Maybe a "cash bath." Boy the rich sure are dumb. You have to wonder how they made money in the first place? Probably taking it from poor people, since poor people have all that money to take right?

well ill do your homework for you then

socialism for the rich,
capitalism for the poor

Rush Limbaugh may be a blowhard, but he is correct about "taxing the rich" to pay for unions that incentivize maintaining a failing system.
How is promoting the most tired propaganda tactic of all, class warfare, "waking up". I'd say it is just very backward revisiting of a tyrannical system justifying its existence with "the people" by demonizing the successful.
It's as old as human civilization, and has always produced the same results.
We'll see how successful CA is. I'd say it will be one of the first states to fall into riots and civil unrest. Maybe following the union controlled upper midwest. More taxes to answer problems of unsustainability= quick and potentially violent collapse

Why wouldn't it upset him? The taker class is growing while the maker class is shrinking. Asking those that already give more than their fair share to give to those that are giving nothing is just a slap in the face.

The "Makers" are the worlds employees...the "Takers" are the ones who inherit their stations in life from mummy & daddy.

They deserve a slap in the face.

The only thing sadder than the financial raping of our country, is that people like yourself actually believe the wealthy have the right to do it. You're like a chicken who is pro KFC.

Besides anything upsetting to Rush is usually a good thing.

"You're like a chicken who is pro KFC."

LOL. I vote this the all-time best sentence ever typed up on ATS.

Yeah like during the 90s when Clinton assumed office and the US went through economic collapse. Who in their right mind wants to live through that again?

To even debate this is a joke. When the top pays a higher percentage, everyone does better. When supply side economics are in high gear, ONLY THE WEALTHY THRIVE.
Jesus ppl. All we have to do is scrutinize the last 30 years. This is ridiculous at this point.

America used to be a place where people would come from the other side of the planet to make things happen. To make their fortune. To live their dreams.

Fast forward to the present and what do we have? Half the population is broken and bitches about what their perceived entitlements are and who owes them what.

Don't like your current situation? Change it! No one owes you a squirt of piss in this life and if you think they do get used to disappointment.

The way I see it is those who posses great wealth aren't doing anybody much good at the moment. So they might as well part with it!

It isn't as if the wealth wont flow back up to the top, anyway. The parting will only be temporary. In the meantime, all that wealth that is sitting around doing nobody no good will be put to some good use for a while.

Yep...right after the 200 year long genocide of the Native American was more or less completed and the ragtag survivors shuffled onto concentration camps.

Fast forward to the present and what do we have?

A bunch of lazy, no-talent, incompetent people who were born into obscene wealth who simply do not deserve the wealth they have had the dumb luck to fall into. Something is TERRIBLY wrong with us when we are reluctant to tax Donald Trump, Paris Hilton, and the Koch Brothers...ALL OF WHOM are wealthy because mummy and daddy GAVE IT TO THEM while school children don't have books in their classrooms.

Half the population is broken and bitches about what their perceived entitlements are and who owes them what.

The government DOES owe the American Peasant quite a bit. In case you haven't been paying attention they only thing you have gotten back for your tax dollars since the mid-60's is a state of nearly perpetual warfare.

Don't like your current situation? Change it! No one owes you a squirt of piss in this life and if you think they do get used to disappointment.

They are...that's why so many Americans voted for candidates who ran on the campaign promise of taxing the lowest forms of life in our country...the garden-variety American Billionaire.

Sippin the socialist koolaid. Mmm Mmm.

The propaganda got to ya.

I think you people are confusing the people who worked their way to their wealth with the ones who steal it from the taxpayers with the government's help - Wall Street. But hell, to you rich peoples is rich peoples, right? Toss em all in the same boat.

Yep. It's not so much that the wealthy "deserve" their money...it's more that the Peasants PERMIT them to have it.

It's called the Social Contract. Andrew Carnegie knew how it worked....too bad are current plutocrats forgot.

Ooooohhhh....that's right. Andrew Carnegie ACTUALLY WORKED for his money to become the richest man in the world at the time...he didn't just inherit his station in life like the European Royalty we fought the Revolutionary War TO GET AWAY FROM.

Not at all. There aren't a whole lot of people on earth with "great wealth" that DIDN'T inherit it.

For every Steve Jobs and Warren Buffet you have 10 Donald Trumps who somehow STILL manage to be obscenely wealthy despite failing miserably the majority of their lives.

Note: Steve Jobs and Warren Buffet BOTH also didn't have any problems with the Clinton Administrations tax rate either...DID THEY??

Probably because they weren't spoiled little brats....

So you would support stealing money from an ATM machine but not raising taxes?

Actually the distinction I make is not how they got their money (because I don't care), rather how they use it and if it is doing society any good. If it isn't doing anybody any good, I don't see why we should allow them to keep it... that would just seem pointless to me.

This socialist propaganda seems to be aimed at children, that seems to be the problem. Political indoctrination should never be geared towards children, and it definitely should not be taught in our schools.

Yup, I agree. Political indoctrination should not be forced at a young age..
