From 2001 to 2008 according to BBC, there have been 28 total deaths caused by hamas rockets.

So how many deaths caused by Hamas, a terrorist organisation, firing rockets into Israel should Israel just accept before stopping them?

The iron domes will not be used on anything smaller than an ICBM or similar since they are so expensive.

Who wins if your enemy lobs round after round of 1000$ rockets, and you shoot them down with something 10-100 times more expensive? Yeah.

Another person who has no idea how much GRADS, Fajr-3s and 5s are.

Although i believe this discussion is rather pointless, this article might shed some light. The emphasis is on "helped to spawn". Israels' own perspective.

How Israel Helped to Spawn Hamas

Surveying the wreckage of a neighbor's bungalow hit by a Palestinian rocket, retired Israeli official Avner Cohen traces the missile's trajectory back to an "enormous, stupid mistake" made 30 years ago.

"Hamas, to my great regret, is Israel's creation," says Mr. Cohen, a Tunisian-born Jew who worked in Gaza for more than two decades. Responsible for religious affairs in the region until 1994, Mr. Cohen watched the Islamist movement take shape, muscle aside secular Palestinian rivals and then morph into what is today Hamas, a militant group that is sworn to Israel's destruction.

...

Walking back to his house from the rubble of his neighbor's home, Mr. Cohen, the former religious affairs official in Gaza, curses Hamas and also what he sees as missteps that allowed Islamists to put down deep roots in Gaza.

He recalls a 1970s meeting with a traditional Islamic cleric who wanted Israel to stop cooperating with the Muslim Brotherhood followers of Sheikh Yassin: "He told me: 'You are going to have big regrets in 20 or 30 years.' He was right."

In fact, isn't Abbas at the U.N. appealing to them again? Hamas hates that! Iran hates that!

The right wing of Likud and Barak seem to "hate" that too.

There's a difference between "helping" to spawn and actually spawning.

Unfortunately, all of these types of articles only make it obvious that Israel shouldn't be making any deals or compromises with Muslims. It's only to their own detriment in the end. Just like it has been to our own detriment to back any terrorist organization in their fight with their brothers.

The entire Arab world hates it (with the exception of non-Muslim Arabs)!

In order for a Palestinian state to be recognized, a Jewish state is going to have to be recognized as well. This is considered apostasy in the Muslim religion.

The mass abuse of Palestinians at the hands of Arab leaders began with the creation of the Palestinian refugee problem in the War of 1948. Before launching the war, leaders of the invading Arab armies ordered Palestinian Arabs to leave their homes so they could “obliterate every place the Jews seek shelter in”. From then until today, Palestinians refugees have been denied basic rights in almost every Arab country where they have sought shelter, including Lebanon, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Syria, and Iraq. Libya expelled 30,000 of its Palestinian refugees; Kuwait expelled over 400,000. Yasser Arafat himself said that “What Kuwait did to the Palestinian people is worse than what has been done by Israel to Palestinians in the occupied territories.”

According to the Arab League, the explicit policy of denying Palestinians citizenship in other Arab countries and keeping them in “very bad conditions” is in order “to preserve their Palestinian identity”. An Egyptian foreign minister also openly stated that the intention in demanding the right of Palestinian refugees to return “is the extermination of Israel”.

And still all Arab League members are going to support the Palestinian Authoritys' Bid to the UN to upgrade their status.

Arab countries back Palestinian UN bid

Palestinian Authority Foreign Minister Riyad al-Malki said Monday that Arab countries support a Palestinian bid for statehood recognition at the UN General Assembly.

That's only because the recognition is that of an "observer" for now. Being an "observer" doesn't require Palestine to be a state.

Just wait until the Palestinian Authority pushes for being a member state.

That's a whole different story.

Edit to add: Sorry, but I meant to be clear about the fact that the Arab countries will not back a Palestine state if it requires them to recognize Israel as a state as part of the conditions.
