Now people can "guess" which party wants peace.

The Israelis, who launch organizations like 'shalom achsav/peace now' or the Palestinians, who shoot rockets into Israel, thereby bringing retaliations on themselves.

And then Israel is demonized, which only serves to justify the methods the Palestinians use.

If we too wanted peace (that is, our leaders) they would be more careful in whom they choose to pillory. It's not so much the leaders here in America or Canada, as it is that of the European socialist states, Russia and China, who ingratiate themselves to the Arabs/Palestinians by essentially ignoring the larger context of how these scuffles emerge to begin with.

There appears to be many on both sides who would rather take aim at the other than have a sit down and get it all out. So, in the end it's just another case of "He said, she said who struck Paul?" and people die.

Egypt still couldn't compete with Israel in a military conflict.

and that was the funniest i ever read
look .. zionists keep talking about what they own from atomic powers which indeed equal in the egyptian army by its huge ability of chemical weapons .. egypt is about 90 million in 1 million kilo israel is 6 million in 26 000 kilo they give us atomic we give them chemicals .. we survive they lost .. end of the story.
regardless this huge talk
lets be more logic you can't compare israeli army with the egyptian army unfair for zionists
*i hope no israeli will post pics from what happen in 67 coz i'll post painfull pics for what happen to israel in 73
and the only thing they better is air force which will be faced with egyptian air defence and believe me its respectable air defence
so after all no one can win such a war becouse of 3 reasons
1-usa
2-russia
3-china

take aim at the other than have a sit down and get it all out.

It takes two to tango.

At one time, before the Nazis managed to spread their Jew hating filth into the region, there could have been a viable 'two state solution'.

Now the situation is far worse than it has ever been; the last thing the region needed was more Islamism. And what happened? Egypt elects an Islamist government. A few months later, the MB's proxy, Hamas, begins launching mortars, grad missiles, updated grad missiles, etc, at Israeli towns/cities.

I suppose letting them 'fight it out' is the only course the Muslims want to take.

Who would of thought, the Salafists, people who pride themselves on the expansionist battles of early Islam, pride themselves on a "strength" and the ability to face death with "nobility" would be interested in starting wars.

Israel certainly doesn't want this, as it could mean the end of them. But Obama - he sure did help precipitate this change in the Arab world from secular government to Islamist government, in Egypt, Tunisia, soon-to-be Syria, and Jordan will be next.

It'll be a miracle if Israel can survive all this.

There is no bigger lie than "We in the west want peace". The whole history of the west is a history of pillage, destruction, war, massacres and murders. More than most other regions of the world.

I think that would be a bit closer to the "truth".

So maybe someone can truthfully answer this : IF the rockets from Gaza stopped would the building of settlements on illegal land stop.?

Remember honest answers !

Jews and arabs need to be pressured to sit down and reach some kind of agreement. If usa/britain/canada are 100% pro-israel and russia/china is 100% pro-palestine THEN OBVIOUSLY something is wrong with the picture and someone wants world war 3 to happen.

Do people really think all this is happening by chance or what? One mistake...fine...two mistakes..ok maybe...three mistakes...something not right...four mistakes...red flag time! We could argue it is about weapons deals or oil deals yada yada, but alliances have been formed a long time ago and everything has been hinging on israel-palestine rather than india-pakistan or cyprus-greece-turkey or northern ireland-ireland-uk. The door is always connected at some point to the frame and that is israel-palestine.

We could call it gross negligence or arrogance from all sides, but is it likely?

The west has been in all out war with arab countries invading them one at a time with different pretenses. The United Nations is either lost(unlikely), sold out(likely) or totally infiltrated by evil rich men like the rothschilds(even more likely).

It never fails to amaze me how Nazi era conspiracy theories circulate on this site, emanating mostly from the misinformed muslims of the middle east.

Communism, Nazism, wahabism and salafism are all Zionist creation and so is PLO and Hamas.

Where do you think Arafat's funds came from in his Swiss accounts while he enjoyed his young girls and than suddenly dies from poisoning?

"The Jewish people as a whole will be its own Messiah. It will attain world domination by the dissolution of other races...and by the establishment of a world republic in which everywhere the Jews will exercise the privilege of citizenship. In this New World Order the Children of Israel...will furnish all the leaders without encountering opposition..." (Karl Marx in a letter to Baruch Levy, quoted in Review de Paris, June 1, 1928, p. 574)

"The individual is handicapped by coming face to face with a conspiracy so monstrous he cannot believe it exists." - J. Edgar Hoover

The truth is Israels borders have been expanding since its creation and continues to expand so there is no conspiracy there for sure:

No the arabs are extremely disorganised, lack the technology, lack the stamina, lack the hardware, lack the discipline. Jews are elite soldiers with elite technology with plenty of money. Therefore israel wins hands down.

Only a nuclear war against israel could be successful and perhaps it will eventually come to this as everyone is too arrogant to want peace. It seems you included!

Israel deserves to be in the middle east and so does palestine. They should sit and find a workable solution!

Never thought of that angle, they can willy nilly collaterally kill women and children and blame it on Hamas.
That is awesome propaganda from Israel!

Good point!

You didn't keep up with the news much when the transition was going on, did you?

The Muslim Brotherhood announced that they would NOT be offering up a candidate for the Egyptian elections in the beginning, because they had just received foreign aid from us.

Then the Muslim Brotherhood turned around and did just the opposite.

Seriously, you should look up all of the articles that discuss whether or not Congress was going to give foreign aid to Egypt during this whole election process. It was a huge debate and everyone was concerned about the Muslim Brotherhood being able to keep peace with Israel.

Did you not read all of the conflicting statements made by Obama and Hillary Clinton on whether or not they supported the ousting of Mubarak?? They went back and forth until people started pointing out all of their conflicting statements.

If you don't think that we appealed to Egypt's military Generals (who were running the country in Egypt's interim elections) to encourage bringing in only presidential candidates that would be friendly to Israel, your DELUSIONAL!

I understand you support Israel. That is quite clear. You are well schooled on what to say and have great resources at your disposal. You are articulate and sensibly verbose.

The thing is, this is ATS. If you think you will sway anyone with your portrayal of Israel as the poor hapless victim, then sir, you are mistaken. The fact that most are not objecting to your posts shows either great restraint by our community (and I applaud every single contributor to this thread) or a program of 'do not feed the trolls.'

You are leaving nothing to chance ranging from playing the holocaust card all the way through rewriting history as Israel would want.

You scorn the people of Egypt who recently elected a government via an 80% vote. When has anyone in the West ever seen an 80% vote. Now that is truly the VOICE OF THE PEOPLE.

This situation is not about rockets. It is about forcibly (at gunpoint) evicting people from land they have held for generations. It is about expansionism at the expense of the local people. It is about the wealth of Israel.

The Jewish people can live in peaceful co-existence, they demonstrate this every single day in IRAN of all places.

Your arguments, sir, are becoming repetitive and quite frankly, they are boring and far from being a balanced view. They are so far out of balance you could say they show a religious fervor, or is that fever, oh, same thing really.

“Peace will come when the Arabs will love their children more than they hate us.”

“When peace comes we will perhaps in time be able to forgive the Arabs for killing our sons, but it will be harder for us to forgive them for having forced us to kill their sons.”

“I am convinced that peace will come to Israel and its neighbors because the tens of millions of Arabs need peace just as much as we do. An Arab mother who loses a son in battle weeps as bitterly as any Israeli mother.”

“Of course, we all must realize that the path to peace may be a little bit difficult, but not as difficult as the path to war.”

“The only alternative to war is peace. The only road to peace is negotiation.”
