That's what I said...

I have things to do today but I am glued to this. Had I known it was going to take this long, I would have got some things done before I started watching. Been sitting here over an hour now...

I just CAN'T seem to walk away....got to see this!

This is absolutely amazing! Normally I'd be glued to the TV watching football, but this is way better! The suspense is unbearable, just everything about it is amazing. The slow accent, the fact he's simply jumping out and falling FROM 20 MILES UP! On the edge of space... The camera angles... Man, totally unbelievable.

Oh and this is my 300th post!! I'm sure no one cares but me I'm just excited to pass that milestone myself... It's no jumping from space, but...

Wow....

Just imagining him going that fast, and seeing him spin around before stabalizing... I was worried.

That was so scary and so amazing. I'm going to remember this my whole life.

All that and he didn't break the longest freefall record?
Dang it man!

Did he break the sound barrier? It didn't appear to me that he did...

He did make the highest jump ever...so that is one record they were shooting for, I suppose.

Nonetheless.....VERY cool!

That was just disappointing, I was expecting a helmet cam shot on the way down, and all we get is a white dot.

Wow that was wild!!! Really smart marketing too. Rather than try and buy advertising, just do a massive publicity stunt. Probably every news station on the planet will cover this and much much more. They do this with most sports too probably why they got so popular.

Why couldn't we see it from his cameras? Watching the white dot was an anticlimax for me and not too different from some of the "ufo proof" videos posted on here.

I'm positive that the helmet cam footage will be available...For a FEE....

I imagine because eastern New Mexico is very flat and very sparsely populated, so there was really no chance that he would hit anything like a house or barn. Plus, the FAA had to divert all air traffic around the area, which out here, is pretty easy to do, since there's hardly any to begin with.

I think it is more geography, and less nationality.

Yeah, Red Bull has a lock on that type of thing.
They do this often with many different "stunts" and "extreme sports"...
Like you said, very smart marketing.

Sponsors or promoters, yata yata...All irrelevant to me personally.
I just liked watching the dude do it.

He finally got it done though. I can get "unglued" and go get something done

And here we go with the Felix really didn't jump threads.

Was it Red Bull who arranged the whole thing? Or was it something Felix was planning on doing and Red Bull jumped on as sponsor since its right up their alley?

I was about to say that same exact thing.

Helmet cam? I think it was "chest cams"....Heard something about that in the check list.
He said his visor fogged up. Wouldn't the cameras do the same.
I'm sure there will be some footage. I doubt there will be "a fee"......This is a Red Bull sponsored event we are talking about here. The "fee".........Seeing their product plastered all over it. ALL about the advertising to them.
They will make it available and you will be marketed to.....

Wouldn't it be very hard to keep a live cam "feeding" properly at those speeds anyways?
Maybe they were set to record...the cameras on his person, I mean.

So the next time something like this is done it will probably be done by GoPro, and we will only see the helmet-cam footage and all the other footage like we saw now will be released for a fee

Always these bits and pieces.

I wonder if they did the landing toast with Champagne or Red Bull
