So what do you think is better? A pre-emptive strike that would almost inevitably result in a nuclear catastrophy on the premise that Iran 'might' be working on nuclear weapons OR would it not be better to gather more inteligence on the matter till we are sure...

I think we need to stop changing the language. A pre-emptive strike really means unprovoked attack.

All that President Obama is saying is that he refuses to let Israel dictate foreign policy to the United States, and he's right.

Just like with the Americans upset about President of Iran being allowed to speak to the United Nations, the UN won't let the USA dicate their policies, either.

Obama is correct in his assertion that Israel should never be telling the United States how to handle foreign policy.

Of course, in a Romney administration (God help us all) President Romney will do whatever Israel asks of him.

Dude, you're posting this on a forum that hates Jews and Israel. This will make them love Obama even more.

Here is another map of Islamic aggression.

And here is a map of Zionist aggression.

As the Zionist have said they want to regain their "biblical homeland". Which means they will have to steal land from every nation surrounding them is that ok with you? And please provide proof of Iran wanting a nuke something besides the usual propaganda please.

No this forum doesn't hate Jews but I will say Zionist are not in high favor here. And just because they think Israel should be held accountable for all their human rights violations and international laws they break doesn't mean Israel is hated either.

Exactly Obama's job is to worry about America and the allies we have treaties with no one else. people seem to choose to overlook the fact that America has no treaty with Israel.

You purposely ignore the whole story, because it would require you to tone down your Jew hatred and maybe even criticize some Muslims. Something your indoctrination wont allow you to do. You'll talk all day about the fence, but not the suicide bombings that caused it to go up. You'll blame everything on Israel, but ignore the hatred that surrounds them on all sides. You'll rage about their military operations, but not the terrorist attacks that instigated them.

In 1936, FDR was campaigning against Alf Landon for re-election to his second term as President. Still reeling from WW1, most Americans were strongly against getting involved in WW2. Landon promised he would not involve the US in WW2, and the election looked very close. FDR promised the US would not enter WW2 unless we were attacked. FDR won by a landslide. Once his second term began, FDR did everything he could to get the US attacked, to give us an excuse to enter WW2.

Remember history, or repeat it.

Remember Obama's stance on the Middle East wars while he was campaigning for the Democratic nomination, and remember how his stance began to change once he secured the Democratic nominaiton. After he was elected, his position on the Middle East wars was almost indistinguishable from John McCain's.

I believe Obama is just trying to appeal to the anti-war crowd without actually commiting to an anti-war position. Once he is re-elected ...

My worry is more along the lines of how Israel sees us. This is not an isolated incident. Obama has been acting really luke warm at best towards Israel's concerns.

Maybe it's just me, but I think that if Obama and the rest of the country has more time and resources to address the concerns of the US, as opposed to concerns of some distant country in the Mediterranean, that would be to the good of our nation. Kudos to Obama.

WHAT ARE YOU KIDDING ME?....AWESOME!

About time too! Israel has been a thorn in the world's side since 1948! We would do better to let them sort it out!

Anyone who disagrees and is Christian needs to read their scriptures more! And stop stumbling over the block that is Israel!

I'm not happy with a bunch of Islamic fundamentalists in Iran having nuclear weapons.

Are you?

Hudson, what do YOU rage about? Does it include the continuing construction of settlements on the occupied West Bank?

I don't hate Jews and I dislike a lot of Muslims. But credit must be given when due, and until Israel stops occupation, I don't feel too compelled to help them in any way.

Actually the OP was mine but the derailment is still true. Tbh, I was easily drawn into derailing my own thread anyway. So your point is correct but you aimed it at the wrong poster...

You are the one that is ignoring things like how Israel has done nothing but start wars since it's creation. I have no Jew hatred just Zionist hatred there is a difference and you need to learn the difference. When it comes to Muslims I have no problem complaining about extremist that twist their religion for personal gain. These people that say are terrorist are really freedom fighters they are fighting against a nation that has invaded and stolen their lands. Maybe one day you'll do a little research instead of listening to the usual propaganda and learn what's really going on.

Where is your proof of them having nukes? You keep spouting the propaganda let's see some real proof. Israel has been saying for decades that Iran is a few months away from having nukes. But still no nukes seriously wake up.

President Obama Throws Israel Under The Bus ?
Are you kidding me ?
What an out right lie and misleading statement .
If Nobama cut all foreign aid to Israel, that would be throwing them under the bus.
And that will never happen. Ask congress.

Does this lead Israel to conclude they no longer have to pay any attention to the US, since we're not paying any attention to them? How, practically, do we hold them in check now, if they feel Iran is going to uncork a nuke?

It looks like we're taking ourselves out of the game, and if the only remaining players are Israel and Iran, I don't see how war can be avoided.

And how does Iran see us? If they believe we won't get involved, then what's stopping them from attacking?

Yup, I'm worried.

War can easily be avoided, Israel wouldn't attack Iran without the U.S. support.
