“No,” Romney replied, “middle income is $200,000 to $250,000 and less.”

I know lots of folk who have a family income in that range. They are certainly not "living large." It depends on where you live. That amount in jerk-water Nevada would be fine. In San Francisco, $200k, for a family of four, might qualify you for food stamps.
You can barely make it on $100k these days... anywhere.

Oh, I'd say more like a family of four on 50,000 can have a fairly comfortable living, but again, depends where you live. I am in Oklahoma which has one of the lowest costs of living ranges in the country. Lots' of jobs coming here because of it to.

I think Gov. Sarah Palin gets $100,000 per speech.
People love to hear her speak.

That's what they do in Greece.

Aha the way something is being spun again by the liberal media who is doing the "class warfare" thing with Obama.
Here is the exact quote:
“No,” Romney replied, “middle income is $200,000 to $250,000 and less.”
AND LESS
That means he recognizes how much more it requires just to pay bills, maintain a home, put kids through school etc.
But it was a supreme opportunity to make the point that the income of average Americans has gone down, their net worth destroyed as they lose their homes or the value of their retirement goes down, or they lost their job.
Because if Obama views people who make 250,000 to be living high on the hog and need to "pay more of their fair share" then Romney shows he is just the opposite, that it requires more just to live reasonably well.
I'm so freakin sick of the class war of the Progressives.

Starred and flagged you for an excellent point, and totally true. One can assume you are on another economic level altogether when your racehorse is competing in the Olympics. I have heard him myself suggest that a "small business" to him was under 500* employees.
500 people! A small business! LOL
(*And please don't anyone compare this number with total number of employees in "Global" industries.
Their unlimited spending power creates undue influence, their cutthroat tactics and cheap human exploitation is largely the problem)
President Mitt Romney is correct about that number.
According to the Small Business Association, small business = 500 employees.
If you go to the SBA to ask for a loan that's the first thing they ask you.
I don't know about that, realistically I mean though I don't doubt that's what the number technically is but to me that is a pretty large business. President Mitt Romney? Let's hope he gets better at lying. So far people seem to be able to tell.

No, we should not punish the successful. We also should not celebrate someone because they got rich on inheritance and gutting businesses. But that neither here nor there.
The fact is, Romney continues to prove that he is WAY out of touch with the average american. Period.
I have to wonder why romney followers cant simply defend their man, and not immediately just "but, obama is worse...but obama did this...."edit on 15-9-2012 by captaintyinknots because: (no reason given)

Americans love Free Market Capitalism. They really do.
Romney is ahead in the polls at Rasmussen.
Romney 48%
Obama 45%
Small business owners jumped out of their skin when they heard Obama's socialist rant.
- If you've got a business, you didn't build that ! -
Most small business owners are in that $200,000 to $250,000 per year income level.

That isn't in the article from the O.P. could you please post a link to the article you are quoting?

Oh, um.....this election is a referendum on Obama.
His record is a disaster.
Sorry, we can't just ignore it.
