Ok, well by your logic, we should promote five year olds to vote and have sex.

Maybe in most of America, but migrant workers are treated a bit like slaves today. In the rest of the world I'd bet there's still plenty of slavery going on.

As to the OP, I think it's high time people stopped using bible interpretations for government policies. America is starting to look a lot like a theocracy and, if that path is followed to completion, it'd start looking like Iran and its mullahs or Afghanistan and their Taliban.

Marriage is should be for those who love each other, period, regardless of what or who they are. If someone's willing to put up everything they own to share with another, what business is it of the government to intervene?

There are people that are old enough to fight and die for our country and not legally allowed to drink.

I dont see the mobs on the streets raising hell about that.

I'm not sure I see the connection. On that issue, I agree, if you're in the military, you should be allowed to drink.

But how does that relate to marriage?

Let me try again.

In a post waaaay back, I used this example.

If my wife and I own a Mercedes, and our next door neighbors (Betty and Jill) own a Volkswagon, yet CALL it a Mercedes, it doesn't affect the value of MY Mercedes. They can call it whatever they want. They should be free to do so. But whatever name they call it, does not affect my car.

I am saying that marriage is a union between man and woman. Gays have the right to marry and they always have.

In fact Christians who believe in the word of God see humanity created equal.

Everyone except those homosexuals, and pro choice advocates, and anyone who isn't christian. Besides those sinners everyone is equal.

So, you're into polygamy, I see?

Honestly, these types of threads are becoming such a bore.... the same old tired, unintelligent arguments. Couldn't you at least come up with something more original or clever? Seriously.

No... I mean migrant workers. The ones that come and pick your lettuce, strawberries and apples. Maybe you're aware of them...?

I don't know how you came to that conclusion. What do five year olds have to do with homosexuality rights?

Who said anything about polygamy? I said a (one) man and (one) woman.

Together they have reproductive parts and can create families.

Live together for over 6 months most places and it's considered common law marriage. That doesn't matter wether you are gay or straight.
got any source for this baloney ??
even a state by state listing would be nice cause i know it ain't even close to true.

Big difference between a five year old child who can't understand consequences, and an adult who understands their own sexual orientation.Nice straw man angle though.

No offense, but slavery ended over 100 years ago. Get over it.

1. You can't troll me bro

2. What does slavery have to do with that photo? That's of the civil rights movement. Inter-racial marriages were illegal in southern states up until 1967.

3.Way to miss the whole point

Besides, what happens if one day someone decides they are no longer gay. I suppose we should accommodate your divorce too and spilt up the property between groom and groom or wife and wife?

This makes no sense.

People pay to get a divorce. How is it YOU, or anyone else not involved, are accomodating the splitting up of their property?

I think you just don't like gays and that simply comes from intolerance.

Of course he missed the whole point. The extreme christian right has always ignored, and more over stifled social progression.

Christianity is dying, please get with the times. Athiesm/Agnostics are increasing every year in the USA.

And your biblical argument is stupid, your God told you not to do a bunch of things. Why are you not protesting Walmart for selling mixed material clothes? And shellfish?

I know the answer...the hate for gays has absolutely nothing to do with religion, it's just bigots ignorant people...it's the same exact mindset the people protesting race mixing had.
