Ban profits really is infuriating basically they want big business to be ran like:

social security
medicaid
medicare
Fanny
Freddy
TSA
Post Office
Prescription Drug plan.

Basically run it like a 16 trillion dollar in debt government

For a moment I thought he might skewer the reporter with the guidon pole. I've always thought the guidon pole would make a great weapon.

Disagree.
I would love to be making a billion a year, I would use that money to start my own mission to mars project, invest heavily in nanotechnology innovation, etc...the good I would do with that money through my vision would only be supported by massive profits coming to me to spend at my descretion.

Now, if I shove my billion a year into some foreign bank, there should be consequences. the money being circulated here is fine, the issue is the money is being shoved overseas through corporations.

Economics is a very difficult subject..anyone offering easy answers doesn't understand how exceptionally complex. Economic professors are even still overwhelmed at just how complex things are, from fiat, credit, etc...soo much to learn, and any simple answer is ultimately the wrong answer.

I am far more concerned with outsourcing, offshore tax shelters, etc..this is theft of our resources ultimately by some anti-americans (one currently running for potus) whom use a rigged system to weaken the nation as a whole.

Do you believe people with a billion dollars consider themselves a citizen of any one particular country? If they had to hold that kind of world view it would be unlikely they would ever become billionaires. Billionaires are forced to understand the world economy and how money is kept fluid anywhere it needs to be.

If you made yourself a billion dollars how might you view those people who are, in your own view, willfully ignorant? I'm just not sure what kind of loyalty you might have to those people. Someone who is trying to be the master of the united states who could also be your employee. Why let them tell you what your country is and isn't? Would you let them tell you what you owe and don't owe to the idea of the USA?

Billionaires don't have allegiance to ideals of those they see as ignorant. Tax is for employees. And the collectors of tax. Billionaires don't play in that sandbox.

What does that tell you?

Also just to let you know, you don't have 100% of scientists agreeing with you
news.yahoo.com...

But you accept it as fact just like ultra orthodox'ers have complete faith in a supreme being and consider the existance of god as fact.

Lets consider this a different way:

Imagine you picked a berry and you didn't know if it was deadly or not. you asked a thousand scientists and the one on the left of the graph said you will definately die if you eat it, and the ones on the right said its probably fine...

Would you eat the berry?

mhmm.

Opinions are not science. What does the data tell us about the ratio of Natural:Manmade CO2?

There is no argument by anyone who believes in thermometers what the temperature is.

But in terms of whether man has ANY chance of influencing the temperature by reducing it's CO2 footprint has not been determined. Unless i am missing the conclusive study. I am not a republican and the poisoning of the earth for profit and self-preservation is extremely sad. Just like the trillions spent on killing people every year.

I was just in a thread full of people screaming about evidence and data that does not exist. Opinions are not science.

The earth is warming. Us reducing our CO2 footprint is a wasted effort in terms of improving our relationship with ourselves and the planet. The implied idea that we have caused an increase in temperature do to our CO2 production is a BELIEF propagated by people that like making money and want to continue to do so.

You Mad?... LOL everything is Demopublican vs republicrat with you guys!

What problem do you find with him? He is one of the few economist who accurately predicted the economic problems we are now having the crash of 2008 and various other things and was ridiculed for it when he did now they do not dare ridicule his predictions. He is an entrepreneur and successful businessman. Yeah but he is a bad guy for exposing the idiocy people believe.... Sigh

Yes, it was kinda funny seeing how easily they were led by his questions. Do any of those people know how much corporations are spending on Obama's re-election? Oh, and I love the Time-warner sign in the background too!

This guy is a D-Bag. Corporate profits are out of control and not balanced at all....many of these industries are everyday needs companies. Meaning, they can charge what they want, because they know people will HAVE TO purchase it. Where as the public is getting poorer and poorer, with wages not going up. Prices keep going up and up....not ONLY because of cost, but because CORPORATIONS must make more than they made last year! REGARDLESS if the country made more, or people are making more...

# them. Regulate Corporations. Monopolies. Let them feel what a recession feels like.

Nice to see this corporatist shill is against people making higher wages and the consumers get lower prices. May be he would be happier if the middle class were paid a few dollars a day. Nice creative editing though because you notice he edits out what he says leading up to the part where he starts crying ban profits.

Yes corporations are contributing to Obama's campaign. Just like how wall street and the banks are paying for Romney's.

No, it doesn't make you a bad person, it just makes you an ill-informed person on how economic principles work, it makes you an ill-informed person on free enterprise and Libertarianism.

Yep that is the case. Also Obama has a lot of Goldman-sachs people in his admin. The point is that people are agreeing with banning corporate profits even while those profists are being used by their beloved obama.
Republicans never said they wanted to ban profits.
It is a matter of whether you are for the free market or for socialism/communism.
Right now we have a mixed economy so those people don't even know the full effects of what they are hoping for.

We don't need to ban anything really.

What we need to do is uphold our ancient bans on things like, murder, theft, extortion, etc.

If we had been upholding the law justly against these tyrannical criminal corporations, they wouldn't have ever gotten this far nor would they have become the monsters they are today.

Nothing wrong with making an honest profit.

But there sure is something wrong with raping, pillaging, and looting.

Appears to me we already have all the laws we need to throw the book at those who abuse the system for their own gain at the expense of everyone else, while making the system appear to be a joke to everyone else because none of our actual laws are being enforced to clamp down on the shenanigans.

There is already a cap on all corporate enterprises.
It's called the Free Market.

Basically the consumers decide if a business meets their ethical standards and provides a reasonable product and will choose to purchase it. And if the business does not meet their ethical standards or provides a reasonable product they should NOT buy it.

But by allowing the government to subsidize the failures in the market, it makes failure a success. It makes bad products become the mainstream, and bad business ethics become acceptable.

So really we went wrong by rejecting "Free Market" theory and by pursuing a government controlled market system.

By embracing freedom and upholding the law, we could set these wrongs right again.
Of course I am somewhat realistic minded and don't expect that to happen but in theory it would work.

Hmm that is an interesting post and makes me think now if corporations are not suppose to have any profit then shouldn't the same be true of unions?

Why yes if there wasn't hypocrisy rampant in that party that is exactly what that means, but it also means there would be no profit from unions to donate campaign cash to those Democratic "congressman".

So being ill-informed according to you, the fact that crony capitalism has brought our economy to the edge of a cliff is just silly nonsense I guess?

All the super rich capitalists are all just taking all that money and investing it in more and better business and industry here in the US? And all those excessive profits that a real human could never really even spend, and is being tucked away in offshore accounts, spent on gargantuan mansions, paying top tax attorneys, and moving to overseas companies paying slave wages, is so much better for our country.

Capitalism has been ruined in the western world, face it. It's not a crime to want to see a better work ethic, and those uber-rich don't seem to be heading in the right direction on this regard.

But forget I said anything. When the cylcle collapses, we'll see what rises out of it. You might have wished we just pt a few caps on a few things.
