The US brings in several trillion dollars a year. To reverse the debt, cut the spending. Simple math. The country is broke, the country has a spending problem.

16 trillion national debt + 120.5 trillion unfunded liabilities = 136.5 trillion.

(divided by) 2.3 trillion tax revenue

= 59.35 years of zero spending and all tax revenue going to pay down the debt.

NOT. GONNA. HAPPEN.

It's simple...just stop spending money we don't have.

Try telling that to Rich spoiled brats who have gotten any and everything they have ever wanted their whole life.

You know they Rich annoying kid in highschool always spending more money than he has and bragging about how he knows everything.

That is pretty much the type of people in politics and in positions of power to make decisions that matter.

It's not Government that is bad, but that it's all Rich spoiled Big kids who don't know how to budget.

The people doing our countries budgeting have never had to budget their own money therefore they have no experience with it no matter what they tell you.

It's obvious....

It's obvious that flushing $530 million down the toilet on Solyndra was a mistake.

Pushing the National Debt to $16 Trillion was also a mistake.

- Electing Obama president was a mistake. -

--------------

Just 2 months to go. November can't get here soon enough.

You know... Im not a Democrat and I was NOT a fan of Bill Clinton during his presidency but as I get older and look back, his terms in office were entertaining and he actually did a great job on our budget.
There are still many other things that I didnt like about his presidency but still, its really hard to dislike the guy.

To our current situation... Cut some of the defense spending, nearly 700 BILLION dollars is ridiculous.
edit on 4-9-2012 by Juggernog because: (no reason given)

I agree with on Clinton. Unfortunately for the democrats (and FORTUNATELY for the republicans) ol' Bill is not running. Obama is who they have to run with...and...well, you know...

Here's a little perspective:
To accrue $16,000,000,000,000.00 of debt...one would have to spend $900,000.00 every hour for 2,012 years!

This must be an alarming time in history for Harvard Business School.

The students there can also see the $16 Trillion National Debt.

They can also see the recession in Europe.
----------

It's like a sick joke. We can all see the problems and solutions.

All we can see from our leaders is - Hey ! Lets just kick the can down the road and

print some money!!! -

Solve the problem ??? Why?

Quantitative Easing all the way baby ! Lets devalue the US Dollar ! It's just so easy !

Sorry but does Romney have a magic wand?

Increase GPD to 25 trillion in 8 years?

I am sorry, but with the global economy (not to mention currency manipulation) and the viability of US manufacturing I don't see this even coming close to fruition. Sounds like HOPE AND CHANGE to me. In my opinion, if things are even salvageable, it is going to take HUGE spending cuts, massive changes to our quality of life before things get back to an even keel.

I wish I could read actual solutions other then catch phrases and rhetoric.

Yes, President Mitt Romney does have a magic wand. - Small Businesses Across America -

There are $$$ trillions sitting in Fortune 500 Corporations.

We are just waiting to push the socialist out the back door of the White House and then

put Obama on a plane back to Chicago and him to take his - class warfare - with him.

We have a lot of work to do.

Raising the GDP to $25 Trillion by the year 2020 is possible.

All we need is President Mitt Romney in the White House.

Cut spending and grow the GDP to $25 Trillion over the next 8 years.

President Mitt Romney will have to do some financial gymnastics at first but we

can grow our way out of this mess by putting Americans back to work.

Talk is so cheap. Anyone can say any babble they want, but how exactly would your republican savior go about increasing the GDP to $25 trillion with so much outsourcing. You people do not even know what the word "tarrifs" is all about. Neither do the democrats!

And mitt romney with his pal ryan seem to be the biggest cheating low-lifes one has seen since reagan. Even bush families seem better, much better than romney. The way he treated ron paul and the way they are treating the libertarians with constant lawsuits tells me that man should be disqualified and thrown in prison. Seriously someone who has no ethics to speak off should NEVER become president.

Nevermind that he is a zionist and military-industrial complex puppet. If he wins world war 3 will happen sooner than if obama wins. How the hell can one reduce the budget if they want war, war, war, war, and almost 1 trillion per year for the DOD?

For republicans cut everything EXCEPT the military, so that when american imbeciles realise they have been left for the vultures the american government, with fema's help, will step in to throw all REAL americans in concentration camps, probably worst than hitler's version.

And which public services are you willing to give up to make this happen, and how much more in taxes are you willing to pay to balance the budget?

Biggest expenditures for the United States Government

en.wikipedia.org...

1) Debt financing
2) Defense
3) Social Security
4) Medicare / Medicaid
5) Welfare programs
6) Retirement benefits

Seriously? You think the guy with no plan can almost double the GDP in 8 years?

Cut Spending? I refer you to my previous post - which areas would you cut? Because of all the biggest items on the US spending list, none of them (other than medicare/medicaid) are even being discussed by Romney/Ryan.

At least Obama is willing to take on the Pentagon.

Even with the massive back to work programs of "The New Deal", GDP wasn't increased by 10% in any year. Current GDP about $14 trillion, you'd need to increase by about 78% to get close to the $25 trillion number, would be a GDP growth of almost 10% a year, sustained, every year, for the next 8 years.

Not gonna happen in ANYONE's economy.

8 years is a long time. It can be done.

The harder part will be to pay down the national debt to $12 Trillion in 8 years.

Buy back the T-Notes we sold China first.

When we achieve our goal then the Gross Debt to GDP ratio will be less than 50%.

- Not exactly a nightmare scenario. -

We will accomplish this magic act without a Value Added Tax.

At least we have a plan.

The Obama Plan : Kick the can down the road and blame the republicans when we go over

the Fiscal Cliff. - Never ever take responsibility for Obamas actions. -

Blame - Baby - Blame

I would rather not see any republican plan come to fruition. The democratic plan is bad enough imo...
.

A third party could change a whole lot FOR THE BETTER!

It's already a done deal.

- Obama is doomed. -

That single phrase ended it for him.

- If you've got a business, you didn't build that ! -

We don't have money for more free candy for everyone.

-----------
Juan Williams already gave Bill O'Reilly the bad news.

If Juan was walking down the street in Washington DC and Sandra Fluke ran up

and asked for $100 to pay for her birth control for 6 months, Juan would say "No."

In 2008, Obama promised to cut the debt by half at the end of his first term...Instead...Obama INCREASED it by 1/3 (over 5 TRILLION DOLLARS)!...MORE than ANY president in U.S. history!
Why would anyone trust this guy...let alone vote for him to have four more years?
He hasn't EARNED another term.
