I agree, it's an eyesore.

So what's with the advertising? Is it somehow affiliated with ATS?

Thank you! I had no idea what that was. Still have no clue what the UN has to do with anything. I know one thing: The brightness hurts the eyes.

It gave me bad vibes. I almost mistook it for some Obama political ad. And with my screen setting I didn't even see the stuff on the sides until this thread was opened.

Unpartial.com was conceived as an online destination to showcase Stremor Corp’s marquee product, Liquid Helium, which is a language heuristics engine that analyzes written content on a broad range of metrics and semantic benchmarks. “Our technology is a completely new approach for crawling content,” says Brandon Wirtz, Stremor’s CTO. “We can look at a news story and tell if the writer is being supportive of political agendas as well as compare the relative believability of their statements.”

Liquid Helium looks better than He3 (at the moment)

I can’t say that I’ve seen anything like this previously... and it looks like it works.

Some major player will snatch this up in a heartbeat.

is it affiliated to ATS

In advertising only.

Separate entities. Same intelligence. Some behind the scenes, I suspect.

So that would be the ''unspin''...a search engine that searches for ''spin'' words to assess if something is genuine or reactionary and how it relates to political events

All of politics and the major companies use spin, so unsure of how this is able to detect if something is said ''with genuine sentiment'' though I guess if it provides potential ''slants'' for those that wouldn't hitherto suspect spin or a slant then at least it is some way of educating the masses on the machinations of politics.

Hmmm interesting.

It intends to go way beyond that.

As Liquid Helium is largely powered by its ability to vet the credibility of content, it goes one step beyond the current trend of social search. While social search is undoubtedly powerful and a step in the right direction, the need for this added layer of credibility in search is even more important, returning results from the true experts at that topic. As Stremor’s CTO, Brandon Wirtz says, if he’s searching for information about physics, “Stephen Hawking knows more about photons than any of my friends.”

Forbes Article on Stremor Corp

Search is a HUGE business, and is currently lacking in many areas.

Its actually sad, that our current Political Presidential elections, has left a bad taste in so many mouths, that some people cant even stand the colors, of our nation. That being said, I suggest those who are offended by it, actually look into the meaning of it. Polarization Index, Article Volume Index, etc. Very neat site, actually. Honestly, you dont have to log into this site, if you are offended by the colors. I know its mean to say, but the owners have put work into it, and the service this site gives, is awesome. MHO

I didn't notice all the forums were shut down as a result of unpartial.com advertising.

Perhaps my experiences differs.

Agree. I like a dark format. ATS has always given us a somewhat dark format. This is intrusive, aggravating, out of character and I would like to see it gone. IMHO. (Did any of the webmasters remember that red is a no-no for a screen background? It invokes or enhances hostility.)

It's and ad with a lot of real estate.

I suppose it is fair game to post your grievances here
