My second reply in the Time Machine Debate

To me, that was a long delay, but I was lost on real life issues. My dedicated ATS laptop (a 750 Mhz, 1 gb Ram running Mint 8 Linux) was being
backed-up and upgraded to a new unit (2.13 Ghz, 2 gb Ram, running XP), in which I installed Mint 10 from a CD I had burnt a while ago. Out of
curiosity, I downloaded Mint 13
, the latest LTS, and after burning the DVD, I had to reformat it
with XP and Mint 13. Yes, I do run both OS's but rarely use XP.
The delay was primarily caused by playing with Mint 10 for a while, but mostly by tinkering with the new Cinnamon desktop in Mint 13. OMG, talk about
perfection! Benchmark after benchmark yielded amazing results, and there are enough applets to keep you occupied for quite some time. I had to
overcome the learning curve from the ancient Mint 8 desktop to the amazingly modern Cinnamon style. Needless to say, I have a new dedicated ATS
laptop, running smooth as silk.
