Sorry... what is the point of this thread? There is no context whatsoever, other than your choice of thread title. But still, that means very little.

If God is a proper god, he doesn't need to use fear to coax people into joining him.

There should be talk not of stick but of carrot. the stick talk hits my ---- off mindset. Tyrants throughout history use only fear on their subjects to keep them in line. I don't follow tyrants and will gladly stand outside the walls verses in the walls of fear.

That instinctual truth tells me that what the ops says is either untrue, or its batting for the wrong team.

A list of biblical refrences to hell is not likely to convince others to repent.
The words in the bible may be alive and relevant to you, but for those who choose not to believe they are just words of hate. Is this the response you were hoping for?

I hope you intend to provide some perspective for us on what all these refrences mean to you.

Does the bible talk that much about a place of torment meant for those who don't tow the line? I had thought I read this book but I am finding more and more I only read what I was told and saw what they wanted me to see, and that it is not what I thought it was...

What are your thoughts or are you just seeing what you are told?

My own personal belief is this:

Only %97 of all people who claim to be Christian are not true Christians and will be going to hell. Why? Because all they are really doing is giving people lip service and not truly believing or living their life by the gospel. That means there will be hundreds of millions of people in hell, and in fact most of the population of earth will be in hell, and only a few million people will be in heaven because only a few million people are proper Christians.

But that is up for God to decide who is and who isn't a proper Christian. He will know what's in your heart and mind.

You see, that is the logical extension of the thought that only proper Christians get to go to heaven.

The OP has not learned the ATS rules don't support this copy and paste routine. The rules like some orginal content from the OP speaking to introduction of an issue for discussion. They generally don't like posts with few personal worlds to show there is a person back there and not some bible narrative spammer.


When humans considered the issues of greater good, there came lesser goods. The greater goods were seen as heaven and truth and the lesser good as hell and untruth. Lacking truth was hell and total truth was heaven.

Both are just concepts in the human mind. All the embellished words of Bible citation are just so many words that don't speak of reality.


There isn't any hell except in the minds of religions that need something to scare people and toss in their face when they don't buy the faked up religion content.

One can burn the bible and get to the highest truths sooner than all those stuck in the citation rut of the mind. One doesn't need a bible to find truth.

And the truth is there is no physical reality road to heaven or to hell. As the concepts only exist in the Christian's minds and their hell is a self imposed sort of mental issue they fear. But no rational person fears a hell and road there that nobody knows.
