While this scene is tragic, and I am in total disbelief that we continue to let police officers walk away from incidents like this, at the same time I can't help but realize it is an Hispanic neighborhood in California. Californians have voted these gun restricting laws and socialist politicians into office and demanded social benefits and police protection at every turn, so they are reaping what they sowed.

I have a feeling this scene would never have happened in a whole bunch of other states, and if it did happen it would have resulted in a lot more carnage on both sides.

The police no longer fear the population in most areas. Instead the population are complete helpless sheep, and the sheepdogs are not benevolent, they are tyrannical.

There just is no excuse for what happened in that video, no amount of backstory that could justify releasing the dog into a crowd containing children and babies. No excuse for shooting people in the back with rubber bullets and beanbags, and no excuse for using force to break up a gathering of people there to protest the very subject of excessive force. The police are 100% in the wrong, and it is a shame they were able to be victorious and walk away from this scene. But, it is California.

You bring up some very important points for context, in my opinion. That text, in itself, is a real important aspect for mindset and how things looked at the time. After all, anything can be second guessed and torn apart from our computer keyboards..how did it appear to those living it? Sounds like..from your description...the cops had some reason to believe they may actually face the unthinkable. Actually being over-run.

I'm not saying that was the intention..before others may pounce. If that happened tho..well, I'd be shocked if any cop lived and how many "innocents" would be shot by the cop's guns in the orgy of chaos to follow?

Yikes.. Thanks for the personal insights from people who were personally there or close to it. That makes a lot of difference to understanding. ....and I wish you all the best in getting out of that place. I'm sure you'll enjoy life once you're out.

Greetings from Fullerton!
Yes Anaslime is now listed as the most violent city in OC.
A huge barrio top to bottom and they even protested when
APD shot a cholo who refused to drop the shotgun he was
walking down the street with.

I heard these "protesters" just suddenly came from nowhere.
And with their children?
This is just a HUGE fail on both sides.

Greetings back at ya!
I once went to that area in answer to an ad looking for a roomate. What I met was two single mothers who looked and acted like drug addicts, living with their six dirty barefoot kids in a two bedroom apartment. They were scary! Truly! That was a glimpse into a world in which even women, even mothers, can be dangerous.
I practically ran from the place.

Whats funny here, is all the police have to do is say there is a politician near by. The new protest laws make it illegal to protest in the vicinity of politicians, or at least thats how I read it. 1 little white lie, and this entire event is swept under the protection of a law passed a few short weeks ago.

Well I called the Anehiem Police department and expressed that I wasnt too thrilled about what I saw.

I talked to a supervisor. I made no threats but just said " I think this is a sickening video which represents the police state were progressing into ever quickly as time goes on."

I also said that they cant go around just shooting people before society lashes back.

I am sure there will be Police at my house in NY shortly..... =s

Ah well it was worth it.

PLUS all you armchair lurkers with big words should call them and express how u feel.

police officers offered to buy their [cellphone] video from them without any explanation

the fact that they wanted the cellphone video and were willing to pay for it is VERY revealing. Sounds like a desperate attempt to cover up damning evidence!

/just committed a crime against a crowd of civilians while people were recording
"DUDE ILL BUY ALL THE FOOTAGE FROM YOU GUYS"
/throws a stack a cash in the air at the crowd
" NO QUESTIONS ASKED JUST GIVE THE TAPES
"

How convenient! The cops are clearly in the wrong here. What a crooked, corrupt police force

EDIT: This is not the first time this has happened..remember the Miami shooting where an officer pointed a gun at a witness?

You stated,

it is not uncommon for the Residence to harass the cops out of their neighborhood.

Given the way police are starting to treat white people recently nationwide, can you blame these people of ethnic background?
I don't like the police in my neighborhood either, I have no use for cops at all.
I police myself and live a good life, the only thing they can do for me is harass.
It's us vs them is the mindset, it should not be that way ever.

It really is getting out of hand in America. They're supposed the be PEACE officers, they're acting more like terrorists. These terrorist pigs are what citizens need to fear, and citizens pay their wages to supposedly keep the people safe. Shocking behaviour. I bet none of them get fired either.

I was wondering if someone would post on this.

My friend who is living with me ATM, grew up on that street, both of my friends from Anahiem are actually hanging out here in perris with me.

They both agree you do not want to go in that area...

Its like the area called the Jungle in down town, its just bad.

People there have a signal usually a loud whistle and all the residence of that little U turn street coming running.

Anything coming out of there I would take with a grain of salt, ITS really bad.

As in don't go there you will get stabbed bad, or the Police don't like going there unless they are in force.

go look at the intersection on Google maps, its a perfect choke point as well, My friend tells me that they will block off the ends with dumpsters to trap cars in... for various purposes.

Well it looked safe enough for people to be peacefully protesting with their children in tow.

Regardless of how bad any area may potentially be, the video shows citizens being attacked by the police for no reason, what kind of pig scum shoots at children! Yeah, the kids were really being threatening! NOT!

We heard about this from someone in Anaheim as it was happening, the type of violence on that street is bad.

Keep in mind im talking to people who have lived on that street, they say it is not uncommon for the Residence to harass the cops out of their neighborhood.

One friend said he recalled an incident growing up where a cop car was on pursuit of a vehicle that entered there and the residence all blocked the road so the cop just left.

Thats the type of things that happen there.

Dont get me wrong Anacrimes PD suck ass, just this might be one case they might of just been in the right.

HERES a good question, WHO TAKES THEIR BABY to an officer involved shooting...

I get it, you're here to stick up for the npolice, every other comment you are trying to stick up for the pig scum!

These people were being peaceful, why should they not be able to take their babies with them on a peaceful protest?

The video shows the police were the terrorists here. They're the scum that people need to be concerned about. ?Everything was fine until this scum pigs started firing at children.

Do you support harm to kids do you? Sounds like you do.

After watching the video it's clear there was nothing "right" about this. These people felt there was a need to express their concerns and protest police action, and you think the "right" way to respond to it is to open fire on a crowd of civilians containing children and babies and unleash dogs onto them?

Again there is more to this situation, There was a shooting, and everyone brings their children and babys to start harrassing the cops...

You think thats a wise thing to do, start throwing things at cops while holding your child?

That's all I am saying, this is one case where the cops probably felt legitimately threatened.

Should they have left the crime scene and let what ever evidence get trampled?

Once again, I am as much a the cops job is NOT to protect you type of person, once again Anaheim PD roughed me up once, a law abiding citizen who was waiting to pick up his elderly aunt...

So I am no advocate, but understand the video is only showing you a very narrow perspective of this.

We first heard about it from a txt msg at 4 something that stated "people where about to f--- up some cops for fun..." thats the txt he got, because his friend was driving by at the time.

Thats the type of mentality that exist in that area.

Where is the video of mothers throwing stuff at the police?

Dont make wild claims unless you can back it up with something tangible. Just because you have issues with an area, doesnt mean these mothers and children are the problem, does it? Seriously, do you not have any respect?

"Why do they hate us ?", asks the cops. "Why do they call us pigs?" , asks the police.

"Because we do and you are", says the people.

Cops should have used real bullets. Dirt bag community needs to learn some respect. What an awful mother bringing a baby to a riot. Kid would be better off had the dog bit her jugular.

So again ATS is siding with a bunch of idiots who clearly didnt leave when told by police. Hate the police, coddle the criminals. Drop a JDAM on that neighborhood and do the country a favor.

Domo, these things are getting more and more common. Suppose a neighbor or cousin of yours was shot for sketchy reasons down the block from your house, and you ran out to see what was going on, and lots of people started hollering at the police, and witnesses said the shooting was not justified, and a crowd started to form, and you're kids tagged along with you to see what the fuss was about, and you guys were up in the grass, and then the police started to drive the crowd toward you, and then they started firing rubber bullets and beanbags indiscriminately, and they released the dog and it ran just past your child and grabbed your arm.

There is no excuse for them to use this level of force. If the original police shooting was justified, then all they had to do was work their scene, ignore the crowd, and go home, like they do most of the time anyway. They reacted this way to send a message to the residents that they are the all-powerful police and they shouldn't be questioned or second-guessed.

What are you on about? It was no riot! Do you believe everything the news reporters tell you? Gullible not?

I repeat, there was no riot! So you actually think it is ok for pigs to shoot mothers and babies with REAL bullets?
Are you mad? You need to be locked up with those kind of views, keep away from cinema's, please.

Someone got shot, people were not happy, they came out in a group to peacefully protest, which is their right, they were not being violent, then the police went all Schwarzenegger on them for no reason! May I suggest you get an eye test, and please, keep away from cinema's for the safety of the American public.

I would never let my kids tag along, the dirt bags were told to disperse before force was used, they didnt comply and then too little force was used.

Its not like cops just started shooting out of the blue. Those dirt bags didnt even move when they saw the guns come out. That neighborhood learned a lesson. I think the cops should have used sligntly more force. You dont get to sit around with a chalupa eating grin when you get axed to leave.
