The Euro AND the USD, in my opinion, wont be around much longer. If and when this happens, our floating dollar wont look too flash either. In this scenario (mind you finance is not my strong point) I no longer see a stock exchange in existence but I do see a prolonged, violent war. In other words no money is worth the paper it's printed on. I would hazard a guess at "potatoes for chicken eggs" being part of a near future currency.

I agree. I think we only get depression or war. Either way though, it looks to me that the United States will come out the other side without the title of superpower.

Now we ALL must remember... EVERYTHING has a cycle. Cycles are .........wait for it....... a circle!
So yes eventully we will be on the bottom , but that needs to happen in order for us to continue the cycle and be on top again.
No society has remained the best forever. They fall, reset or collapse but always comeback in some form.
We will fall, I do know that. When? How far? How much? , is debateable. And most Americans know this.

Again, be careful what you wish for.

As long as history is, there has always been a superpower. It is the cycle of human existence, unfortunately. In order to BE a superpower it means "being a jerk".

Remember these superpowers/empires/dynasties?

Egyptian
Greek
Han
Mayan
Roman
Mongolian
Ottoman
British
Russian
United States

What do they all have in common? Power through coercion. Or, in your words, being jerks.

What makes you think that China will be any different this time around?

I think State Capitalism has proven that corporatist america does not work. China is the clear winner. Pure capitalism turned into corporatism.

State Capitalism is the future for the world. It is sensible.

You forgot Persian.

en.wikipedia.org...

Due to the ethnocultural diversity of the subject nations under the rule of Persia, its enormous geographic size, and the constant struggle for power by regional competitors,[4] the creation of a professional army was necessary for both maintenance of the peace, and also to enforce the authority of the king in cases of rebellion and foreign threat.

What we've seen recently in America, and the rest of the world for that matter, is not pure capitalism. Pure capitalism would allow for the dissolution of failed corporations - which has not happened due to greed leading to corruption and ultimately corporatism. I'm not sure what you mean by "State Capitalism".

What does that have to do with anything? Do you deny that the rise of China has been like that of no other nation? Do you deny that it was under State Capitalism?

And no I have not been to China. My friend went recently and said it was one of the most modern places he had ever seen. And it is. You can google it you know. They have the awesome infrastructure.

And again, how do you explain their rise against all odds? While America failed when it had all the cards?

I don't need to google it I have lived there. I urge you to go have a look.

And yes, some places there are very modern and some are ancient. Not really sure what that has to do with anything. More so, they have as of late been westernized, being that the majority of foreign investment came from western countries (corporations).

I didnt say it was 'pure capitalism' because when you do someone will always say something very similar to what you just said. I said capitalism turns into corporatism. Captalism does not work. It always turns into corporatism. It failed.

State Capitalism on the other hand is far more sensible. It protects the people and the state from the greedy corporatists and bankers.

The world had given up on the US. They are irrisponsible. They are lazy and incompetent. Look at their economy. They refuse to fix it. They continue to overspend.

It is out of our hands anyway. The onlt thing saving the US is having the reserve. When the USD is unseated the US will collapse.

Your above post is correct FOR CERTAIN PEOPLE. But not every American does this. I would suggest, at least in my area, that most Americans are pinching pennies and doing their best just to survive. So please be careful with the generalizations.

Now, having said that, I do agree that our government has screwed things up so badly for out country that it may be an uphill battle to fix....

So....what's the immigration policy in Australia these days???? You may have a boatload of Americans heading your way....

I does not matter how much you save when the manipulators at the top destroy whatever you do woth extreme careless use of money. This is not the fault of the people who are trying to survive the system except that you allowed the system to exist and the manipulator to come to power. You are being collectivly punished for your collective stupidety not for what a single person do or not. But why care anyway. It is just a ride and money means nothing in the end, but karma means everything. If US create hell for others they will create hell for US.

From my point of view the US is collectivly just a ego parasitic bully and that is what US do not what the US say it does. My opinion migh be wrong but it seems like other people have the same opinion as me and have found the same information that makes us think this.

Since you like China so much I'm gonna post this ancient Chinese proverb.

The fire you kindle for your enemy often burns yourself more than them.
~Chinese Proverb

In your case this is very relevant. I think that maybe you should take some time and ponder it's meaning.
You are caught up in hate right now. And it's not doing you any good.

I'm gonna leave this image here. Since it's relevant.

And finally. Ok so America is doomed. So what?
Who cares. If we all fall into a pit of doom keep in mind that the world will join us in that pit.
We are all connected now. All those countries with American debt and property will be in the crapper. Including China.

And the world hates america? So what let them hate. We'll send them aid and help them when they need it anyways.

We get it. You hate the USA. Can you keep the I hate the USA posts to 1 a week? It's getting old.

What point are you trying to make? The reason the corporatists sent all the jobs to China is because capitalism/corpoatism let them.

The cities are modern because the government is doing a good job. The country has become a power because of State Capitalism. The corporatism of the west has destroyed us all. Europe and America are a mess.

You've really descended into nonsensical rhetoric now by the way. I'm not even sure what "the awesome infrastructure" is. No idea why a country that has a city(ies) that is modern means. Like I mentioned earlier in this thread, Dubai, one of the most modern places in the world, bankrupted themselves building giant phallic monuments in the desert.

Why was the Chinese rise, "against all odds" as they never really took an interest before in global politics, as they believed the world centred around themselves?

How has America failed exactly? It is not anywhere near a total failure yet. And no matter what, as another poster pointed out, there is a long list of past empires and dynasties that were superpowers, that eventually faded, so even if the US did disappear into the backdrop eventually, it would not be unprecedented.

Point out exactly where I hate the USA?
I do not like your government. That is not what the thread is about.
The thread is about the fact that the USD will be unseated.

Stay on topic and dont be a troll.
I have already gone over the aid scams and have a thread on it. Again, the topic is the unseating of the USD.

Denying reality by calling me anti-american is pathetic. Not wanting to be linked to the US dollar does not mean anyone hates america.

Just because I do not think america should be superpower does not mean I hate america.

Personally, I would LOVE for the US to no longer be a superpower.

I hate that we are "the World's Police." Self-appointed or not, that's our reputation. I'm not naive enough to believe we can withdraw into ourselves and only deal with domestic issues (which are in sore need of attention), but I wish we could.

It seems to me the best thing the US can do is to become energy independent from the middle east oil. Then perhaps we could get out of the middle east and turn our attention to matters at home.

While I disagree with some of your statements (particularly the ones that seem to be blanket statements about the people of the US), I do agree with a lot of your position. I do believe the US is going to dwindle as a superpower....but I don't think it will happen overnight.

Its pretty much a hybrid. A mixture of socialism and capitalism. You still get a free market and wealth but the state protects state assets and resources through nationalizing them. It is the best of both worlds.

This is where you lose all credibility in your argument. I highly suggest you go to China, spend a year or two there and see how the world revolves there.

You cannot run a business without a government stake. In most cases government officials take pay offs to let people they want to run the business, who offer kickbacks and put competition out of business, or simply don't let them start.

Some of the officials are the richest in the country because the schemes that are associated with government involvement in business.

There is wide spread corruption, which makes your argument that "US capitalism" is somehow different than what you call "State capitalism", absolutely absurd.

There is a huge divide in China between the classes as well. Either you are completely broke, or filthy rich. There are people that live of a few hundred dollars a month. And others that spend thousand daily. Some large families live in single bedroom houses, dwellings. You can get a bowl of soup for $.50 on the mainland, walk down the street to an upscale restaurant and order a plate worth $50.

I don't really think you have a clue what you are talking about now, but you definitely have some pent up anger over the US, probably because you listen to too much Alex Jones or the like....
