Awesome thread!!!

Just to touch on a few of the comments...

@SplitInfinity I understand and agree how you feel about the glorifying of violence and guns etc. in rap and how it has become over the last decade or more and yes it is wrong but i know it was never ment to be like it is now when gangsta rap first surfaced.
These were guys that came from nothing and violence was a way of life and in some cases was needed to stay alive and so in the whole meaning/nature of rap/hip hop and even poetry the artists write and rap there lives and what goes on in there heads no matter how disturbing it may be.
But sadly now it has gone to far and cause so much trouble and violence because kids want to be like the favourite rapper and i blame a lot of it on the record labels and the media just like you have the slutty pop stars and the likes of the Kardashian's, Jersey Shore etc. which have young girls and boys looking up to them so lets pretty much thanks the media and the way the world is for that!

Regarding on how some of these guys come up with such deep, mystical and very meaningful lyrics sometimes i still reckon you can say there up bringing, life, role models and mainly having an awesome mind and gift of speech.
Only because of myself relating in a way. Without telling my life story but not everyone has a perfect up bringing and youth but with some strong influences in other people and just having a certain frame of mind that isn't so "normal" i guess? it's amazing what you come to believe, how you see the world, knowing that it's not so straight forward and most people see it and also having the mind to say "NO" to all the s**t the goes on.

I study audio engineering and producing now but use to write a lot and still do weather it be lyrics, song writing or poetry it's amazing, surprising and can be scary what is in our heads and we don't even know it until it comes out on paper
I will try to find the lyrics later but Tupac would speak about this about being scared of his own mind and thoughts with the only way to "release the demons" was to rap about it and get it out of his head and turn into music and in doing that he was defeating his demons.

Just my thoughts anyway lol

Peace.

I am glad you see what and where I was coming from. Your Lyrical style...are you using a basic 4/4 or do you write vocal melody and timing on the up or down beat?

My Band of which I have been in Studio for too long as although that is bad...it is good from the sense I was reunited with my old Drummer who is one of the top 10 worldwide. I have toured with Aerosmith, Heart, Robin Trower, Motley Crew, Staind and more than I can remember. I played OZZFEST and I have only one person who I have ever got into it with and that is the original singer of Rage Against the Machine...Zack de la Rocha.

He riled up an audience at a large outdoor venue a friend of mine owns and caused the audience to create close to a Million Dollars in Damage. I confronted him after he got off stage as we were playing two spots after Rage and told him there was no need to do what he did and it was dangerous. He got pissed off and started in on me in a violent tone. I am 6 ft. 1 In. and am all muscle as well as Trained and I tried to calm him down and tried to TALK to him. He just went all Ghetto with me and said...LET'S GO!

Let me be clear...this would be a BIG MISTAKE for him to do and I could tell it was his moth doing the threatening and not his brain. When someone acts like this to me...unless they start swinging...I do not allow words to influence my actions. One of his road crew who knew me to an extent...smartly grabbed Zack and escorted him back into the Food room as Zack was in enough trouble as it was and ended up being banned from this venue.

My point is...I will not allow myself to hurt someone over words...and nowdays...some people shoot at each other over even less things. Later as he was being escorted out of the venue by Police...he saw me and Yelled a parting shot...I let it go as I knew there was nothing to gain by Beating him senseless. EGO will always get you in trouble if you do not control it and never let it control you. Split Infinity

Interesting that you picked up on it being 4/4. Yeah... I make simple beats when me and my friends 'freestyle'.
I'm a step-writing phenom lol.

I've had many interesting situations arise from things I've said, or even just because I was simply far 'better' than another person at what I do(did), or whatever one wants to call it.

I literally had a group of haters that spent an entire night heckling me with craziness. All because, they were the entire 'crew' of a rather popular artist and I asked them to 'freestyle'... Story goes... I went first, then dude looks at his boy, his boy asks 'What did you think', then dude responds.. 'That was some real.. *..' That was it!!! No response, none of them would join in on the fun, dude who wanted to participate stayed silent... Then the rest of the night... just straight craziness. They were drunk, it was their party, and I had their women(lol)... and I kinda showed off.

Moral of the story is... I know how dumbed out things can get, especially when it comes to protecting ones ego.

I am sorry that happened to you. Music is something that everyone should celebrate and participate and the thought that there are people out there making this into a competition is truly sad indeed. I work with some of the best musicians on the planet and non of these guy's has an EGO as far as their abilities

We do not look at new styles and say...that SUCKS! We embrace new forms of music that have not been tried yet.
I believe my only pet peave is that I believe that more people who CALL THEMSELVES MUSICIANS should actually learn how to play an instrument or at the very least...understand Music Theory.

But the main reason I responded to this topic was that I would love to see the day when people take the Violence out of how they behave. It is one thing to write a song about violence...it is another to act the part. Then someone gets shot because of the perception or persona of their being a Gangster. A person who has achieved power by hard work never allows this to be seen by fans as it is a turn off...as far as my style of music.

The quiet war has begun with silent weapons
And the new slavery is to keep the people
Poor and stupid; "Novus Ordo Seclorum"

How can there be any logic in biological war?
We all know this is wrong, but the New World Order's
Beating down the door
Oh, something needs to be done

There was a king (an evil king), who dreamt the wickedest of dreams
An ancient mystery no prophet could interpret
Of seven years of famine; the wolf is at my door
As predicted years ago: that that was, that is, that is no more

The word predicts the future and tells the truth about the past
Of how the world leaders will hail the new Pharaoh
The eighth false king to the throne
Washington is next!

Disengage their minds, sabotage their health
Promote sex, and war, and violence in the kindergartens
Blame the parents and teachers; it's their fault; "Annuit Coeptis"
Attack the church dynamic, attack the family
Keep the public undisciplined till nothing left is sacred, and
The "have-nots" get hooked and have to go to the "haves" just to cop a fix

I am the king (an evil king), who dreams the wickedest of dreams
An ancient mystery, nobody could interpret
Of seven empires falling; the wolf is at my door
As predicted years ago: that that was, that is, that is no more

The word predicts my future and tells the truth about my past
Of how the world's leaders are waiting to usher in
The eighth world power of modern Rome
Washington is next!

There was a king (an evil king), who dreamt the wickedest of dreams
An ancient mystery, no prophet could interpret
Of seven empires falling; the wolf is at my door
As predicted years ago: that that was, that is, that is no more

I am a king, and I dream the wildest dreams
And nobody could interpret
Seven empires falling; the wolf is at my door
Oh, that that was, that is, that is no more

There's something at my door, some ancient mystery
The future tells the truth about the past
And I'm the eighth false king to the throne
I've got you in my cross hairs; now, ain't that a b#?

Washington, you're next!

it's Dave Mustaine, so forgive him if it's a bit silly sounding.
but it's got a message nonetheless.

Umm.... wow. That's some real stuff right there...

The 7th being the leader of the 8th, straight biblical revelations, as you may have caught on... from my lines:

Want to get to heaven, you've got to raise a little hell

Illuminated big guns, we use your souls as shells

Traverse from town to town, and gain some understanding

The road through Rome, can seem so DAMN demanding

Divide and love will conquer, here are my 'two daughters'

Takes a 'Lot' to try and stop the wrath of God who slaughters

This is something I understand all too well.... it's actually... EXACTLY what I was saying lol.

I'm sorry but the following...

Divide and love will conquer, here are my 'two daughters'
Takes a 'Lot' to try and stop the wrath of God who slaughters

Is just about the greatest line every told... I know.. i know, I'm full of myself, but cmon! that's epic and yall know it. That is, if you understand the reference, which i'm sure a majority of people do.

Here's a song called New World Order: (I think the previous, Washington is Next!, is better though.)

Where hath the apostles gone?
Joining hands with wicked ones
Revelation has come to pass, New World Order
will hold the mass
A book written by the man
used to control and command
All rights will be denied,
without the mark you shall die

No confession, all is known, all is known
New world order, you shall be shown shall be shown

Monitoring all wages
New world order comes in stages
Currency is obsolete
Feel the agony of defeat

Symbol of society today,
A must have or you shall pay
As humans flesh leads the mind
Just as a pawn the last martyr dies

No confession, all is known, all is known
New world order, you shall be shown shall be shown

Where hath the apostles gone?
Joining hands with wicked ones
Revelation has come to pass, new world order,
will hold the mass

You can't forget... Money, Power, Respect(Watchu Need In Life)

(clock tickin') Only time can tell how the clock tick
I really love here but I'm still a hostage
Two personalities, check the posture
Smoke out the mouth, clear out the nostrals

Good stuff... not because of the underlying premise of the verse, but rather the truth it relays... at least I see it. The entire song is blatantly money, control and ego... that doesn't go to discredit it though, it speaks for a majority of people it seems.

Yeah... that dude seems to be on top of his...

A song I covered in my other thread that I linked previously...

Smoke and mirrors, stripes and stars
Stollen for the cross in the name of God
Bloodshed, genocide, rape and fraud
Written to the pages of the law, good lord

The cold continent latch key child
Ran away one day and started acting foul
King of where the wild things are, daddy's proud
Cause the roman empire done passed it down

Artist: Brother Ali lyrics
Title: Uncle Sam Goddamn

Pioneered so many ways to degrade a human being
That it can't be changed to this day
Legacy so ingrained in the way that we think
We don't only need chains to be slaves

Lord it's a shameful display
The overseers even got raped along the way
Cause the children can't escape from the pain
And they're born with the pores
and this hatred in their veins

Try and separate a man from his soul
You'll only strengthen him and lose your own
Well shoot that ***** if he walk near the throne
Remind him that this is my home (now i'm gone)

MAN!!!

Slug(Atmosphere) and Brother Ali... both from Minnesota, both some of the most amazing lyricist to ever be in the game.

I would even go as far to say that Brother Ali is on par with Sir Francis Bacon

Here's a poem of his...

Guiltless Heart

The man of life upright, whose guiltless heart is free
From all dishonest deeds and thoughts of vanity:
The man whose silent days in harmless joys are spent,
Whom hopes cannot delude, nor fortune discontent;
That man needs neither towers nor armor for defense,
Nor secret vaults to fly from thunder's violence:
He only can behold with unaffrighted eyes
The horrors of the deep and terrors of the skies;
Thus scorning all the care that fate or fortune brings,
He makes the heaven his book, his wisdom heavenly things;
Good thoughts his only friends, his wealth a well-spent age,
The earth his sober inn and quiet pilgrimage.

~Sir Francis Bacon

I'm not sure what people know about Francis Bacon around here... but... this is the dude lol. He's one of the greatest things since sliced bread. Some even claim that he rewrote the bible... and some/most/or all of Shakespeare's works

Another Brother Ali lyric:

You might think I'm depressed as can be
But when I look in the mirror I see sexy *** me
And if that's somethin that you can't respect then that's peace
My life's better without you actually
To everyone out there, who's a little different
I say damn a magazine, these are gods fingerprints
You can call me ugly but can't take nothing from me
I am what I am doctor you ain't gotta love me

And billions of people die for a lost cause
So now I pray to my nation destroyed under God
It's the end of the world
All my battles have been won but the war has just begun
....

They catch us with the matches and ignite the flame
And all the hopes of a youth deemed f#n' insane

They say take the pill, in God we trust, go and kill
God loves us as in life, as in death, breathing till there is no breath

I see the children in the rain like the parade before the pain
I see the love, I see the hate, I see this world that we can make
I see the life, I see the sky, give it all to see you fly
Yes, we wave this flag of hatred but you're the ones who made it

Watch the beauty of all our lies passing right before my eyes
I hear the hate in all your words, all the wars to make us hurt
We get so sick of so sick, we never wanted all this
Medication for the kids with no reason to live

So we march to the drums of the dammed as we come
Watch it burn in the sun, we are numb

We are young, we have heart
Born in this world as it all falls apart
We are strong, we don't belong
Born in this world as it all falls apart

As we walk among these shadows, in these streets, this fields of battle
Take it up, we wear the medal, raise your hands with burning candles
Hear us whisper in the dark, in the rain you see the spark
Feel the beating of our hearts, fleeting hope as we depart

All together, walk alone against all we've ever known
All we've ever really wanted was a place to call our home
But you take all we are, the innocence of our hearts
Made to kneel before the alter as you tear us apart

So we march to the drums of the dammed as we come
Watch it burn in the sun, we are numb

We are young, we have heart
Born in this world as it all falls apart
We are strong, we don't belong
Born in this world as it all falls apart

We will fight or we will fall till the angels save us all

First off, I really don't think the chosen words match the description too well. I don't see where he's really speaking about "Those Who Control The World" or "Illuminati" or whatever. Sounds more like he's going on about being originators, blasting at the imitators. I find this recurring theme to be ironic in an art form built on recycling and recreating from existing sources. So, please do go into the nitty gritty because I think I'm missing it here. I don't mean to be confrontational or challenging, just voicing my perspective. I got to see most of The Wu Tang Clan together again recently, which was amazing. Wu Tang is where I parted ways with Hip Hop years ago, probably right around when the much anticipated Forever album came out. I liked the intelligent artists like Jeru the Damaja and KRS ONE back then. Being white, realizing how much hatred and racism was directed toward white people, combined with the blooming of thought devoid gangster rap, I left it alone for over a decade. Immortal Technique really brought me back and made me realize there have been some jewels shinning over the years. Got to see and meet him recently as well, which was amazing. I don't think anyone has ever laid it on the line regarding "The Controllers" better or more consistently, but my mind is open and I've been exploring what I missed over the years. It's funny Tool should come up in this thread, because thats basically the direction I went when I parted ways with Hip Hop around 97.

The following article really hit home and made allot of sense when I came across it here in this thread.

"The Secret Meeting that Changed Rap Music and Destroyed a Generation"

I also came across this video somewhere at the time, which makes allot of sense as well.

It's long been evident that TPTB, have feared, monitored and murdered many artists before Hip Hop even existed.

They have perfected the media game and it's sadly evident in the mindset of younger generations.

I see nothing HIP or COOL about acting violent or pretending to be so. This comes from a person who has been Trained to perform Extreme Acts of Violence but never once did I ever find it a GOOD THING. When I see KIDS acting like their Favorite Gangster Hip Hop or Rapper Musician...it PISSES ME OFF!

And look at the results...Entertainers Killing one another over NOTHING! There is nothing Tough about a person holding a GUN. What is tough is a person trying to Help KIDS obtain a better life. Split Infinity

I hear you on that as well, which is part of where I got disgusted with Hip Hop, but if you look at other genres it's there too, and if you put it in perspective with the first article I posted, we start to form a picture. Compound that with the real drug movers and shakers being officialdom since days of England pumping opium into China, the modern incarnation of pushing crack and heroine into the ghettoes. Add the possibility of AIDS and other biological warfare agents being consciously manipulated and you start too see the cultural incubator that spawned Gangster Rap and other means of media manipulation and control. Maybe it's tough not to blame the products of that culture and look at the sources of that culture and those who manipulate it into being. It's especially tough not to merely externalize the problems we face and blame an outside source like TPTB when we as a human race collective have allowed things to occur in our complacency. It's also hard not to jump to the conclusion that most people are just stupid sheep and deserve to be controlled, manipulated and annihilated, as currently occurs daily on all fronts. It's hard to look at how ingenious and expansive the mechanisms that keep humanity dumbed down and oblivious.

The world is a gun aimed in your face right now!

Every time we get lost in the doldrums of daily existence...
Every time we feel helpless against it we lengthen our sentence...
Every time we talk about it without taking action or argue over race creed or faction...
The action is cocked and the barrel is aimed, our chains are locked and our free will is tamed!

But anyway...

I put some WU on russian roulette in the meantime, heres to pulling the trigger on some other $#IT.

Lyrics of a true Genius...

This song is performed by GZA/Genius, appears on the album Dreddy Kruger Presents...Think Differently Music: Wu-Tang Meets The Indie Culture (2005) and features Ras Kass.
[Intro: Ras Kass]
Uh, Dreddy Kruger, what up, my nigga?
Yeah, GZA, you know, uh, Rassy, you know
Shouts out to my nigga Wreckonize, all my MIA

[GZA]
Formed in very a strong advanced post, east to west coast
Ahead of time, competition not even half close
Let's say, by no means, an equal value
Prematurely brought to play, I'll never allow you
To strike first, so precautions must be taken
And what's worst? When you're just fronting and faking
It's a shame when the sixteen bars are just a waste
And every line or word, is badly placed
Even dealing with the narrow window of time
My arrangements, are quick, shutting down your power lines
On a bunch of small puppets, with a wack ass team
That only move, at a push of a button that pull strings
Bad boys move in silence, secretly fading in
Unlike fake gangstas and ya wannabe made men
Acting like they carry the gun that killed Lincoln
Or they rolling with two hundred murderers from Kingston

[Ras Kass]
Our goal is to learn y'all niggaz, about this new world order
But I'm still try'nna run up in the president's daughter
He the auditor, ain't let the NARC's see this barker
Stick to bitches walls like I'm Peter Parker
The Vida Guerrera sidekick hacker
Five niggaz licked, on the Internet jacked her
Dog, I'm not a rapper, I'm the black Dracula
Nosferatu, spitting darts at you, out of black Acura
Homies is gat packers, rat packer
Fly nigga, I'm the venomous stack attractor
Mack attacker, pimp slapper, the track cracker
Epitome of nice, after rainbow, press the laughter
And y'all niggaz is the worst, like fat chicks with little kicks
If your names not YKK, then get off my dick
Bitch, I hang with the trillest, and that's why 5 percent
Is college kids and next felons fillers
I'm sick with the words, Waterproof and Liquid Swords
The world never heard this before, call me Mr. More
'cause more money, more murder, and more spit to serve

Thank you for that, I'm about to print that out and throw it up on my wall. Sir Francis Bacon has inspired me in the past. What bugs me with all that he was involved with, the clubs that have continued on to this day to pull strings and become the "NWO". There is deep wisdom in much of the base doctrines. It makes me step back and think of the higher perspective, and about breaking eggs to make omelets so to speak. How could such wisdom spawn such filth?

Here's something else from the wall...

An old Cherokee chief was teaching his grandson about life...

"A fight is going on inside me," he said to the boy.
"It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves.

"One is evil - he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, self-doubt, and ego.

"The other is good - he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith.

"This same fight is going on inside you - and inside every other person, too."

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather,
"Which wolf will win?"

The old chief simply replied,
"The one you feed."

Go, when you buy this album
Go pick up uniforms, for real

We doing this **** for certain ****** kid
Certain people rather, certain
Certain fans, certain supporters
Certain delegators, word
What the **** man, I'm tired of seeing these
Fake *** ****** *******, running with the ******* globe
Ain't even, ain't even really seeing it the
Way it, it should really be seen
YouknowhatImean?
It's like, if you going to spread mathematics
Spread it right
YouknowhatImean?

Justice, freedom, equality... in opposition to said illuminati...
Pick up uniforms like your going to war
They're doing it for certain supporters and delegates
He's tired of the fake *** ***** *******, that are running the world.
They aren't seeing life and the world as they should, they are wrong in what they are doing.

Wu references The Nation of Gods and Earths frequently in their work.

The Nation of Gods and Earths, sometimes referred to as NGE or NOGE, the Five-Percent Nation, or the Five Percenters is an American organization founded in 1964 in the Harlem section of the borough of Manhattan, New York City, by Clarence 13X, a former student of Malcolm X, who left his mosque because he disagreed with the Nation of Islam over the nature and identity of God.[1] Members of the organization call themselves Five Percenters, which reflects their belief that ten percent of the people of the world know the truth of existence, and those elites opt to keep 85 percent of the world in ignorance and under their controlling thumb. The remaining percentage are those who know the truth and are determined to enlighten the rest. They are the Five Percent Nation.[1]

I don't really understand too much about all of it. I've caught bits and pieces from Wu Tang Albums, and GZA's book The Tao of Wu. He also mentions some of the racism involved in it. I have spoken with a really brilliant friend from Harlem about it as well, check him out please...

Warlock Asylum

The GZA was all about it when they got started, doing the lessons and all that.

Many MCs employ the technique and terminology of the Supreme Alphabet to create acrostics, acronyms and backronyms in their rhymes. For example, in the song "Wildflower," Ghostface Killah rhymes, "I'm God Cipher Divine," spelling G-O-D in the Supreme Alphabet.[24][25] Furthermore, Raekwon breaks down the science of his life story on the track "North Star." rhyming the words "sun, moon, and stars, rock on". The RZA directly rhymes the twelve pillars of life's objectives on his later work with Gravediggaz, rhyming in succession Knowledge, Wisdom, Understanding, Freedom, Justice, Equality, Food, Clothing, Shelter, Love, Peace, Happiness. He regularly wears an eight-pointed star pendant, which can notably be seen on the cover of his album The World according to RZA.

So thats the "Freedom, Justice, Equality" reference.

By uniforms he just means Wu Wear, which at the time of the album the Wu Tang Globe was heavily used imagery, being on the cover of the album and on much of the clothing line.

It's not the WU globe, but here is the WU bath mat for fun...

They talk about the clothing line and all that in the doc...

Wu: The Story of the Wu-Tang Clan

All my ******, go pick up uniforms
Go, when you buy this album
Go pick up uniforms, for real

So he's really just saying go get some Wu Gear!

Certain people rather, certain
Certain fans, certain supporters
Certain delegators, word

He means they are doing it for The Five Percenters.

What the **** man, I'm tired of seeing these
Fake *** ****** *******, running with the ******* globe

He says "running WITH THE globe"

In other words... Those who arent Five-Percent Nation.

Ain't even, ain't even really seeing it the
Way it, it should really be seen

He's really saying those who don't understand Five-Percent Nation.

It's like, if you going to spread mathematics
Spread it right
YouknowhatImean?

This is what he is referencing...

Supreme Mathematics
The Supreme Mathematics is a system of understanding numerals alongside concepts and qualitative representations that are used along with the Supreme Alphabet.[9][14] The Supreme Mathematics is thought to be the highest system of mathematics in the NGE, used to give qualitative value to numbers in addition to quantity. For example, the numeral 1 symbolizes Knowledge, 2 symbolizes Wisdom, 3 represents Understanding, 4 represents Culture/Freedom, 5 represents Power/Refinement, 6 represents Equality, 7 represents God, 8 represents Build/Destroy, 9 represents Born, 0 represents Cipher. The system (similar to numerology), is claimed to maximize a person's logical thinking in order to solve life's problems.[citation needed]

Not to # all over your interpretation, I'm all in favor of taking our own meaning from artistic work, for me that is what it is all about. However, we are on ATS to deny ignorance.

An interesting subject...

[Inspectah Deck]
Yo, this goes for all my brothers and sisters locked down
For all my peoples incarcerated, for those who ain't make it

Yo, in the housing, thousands seen early graves
Victims of wordly ways, memories stays engraved
All my live brothers, is locked down with high numbers
The young hunger, blind to these lies, they die younger
In this New World the Order slaughter men, women, and children
Ten feet gates surround the building keep us sealed in
The projects, lifeless like a vietnam vet
Constant war, sever threats of enemy conquest
Crooked cops comb my building complex that's in the rumble
Streets are like a jungle, can't let my cypher crumble
Vivid thoughts, Devils resort to trick knowledge
They kick garbage, lust for chicks and quick dollars
I know the pain the game bring, I did the same thing
Spaced out in the staircase, performing a sting
It's hard to keep control, I bless those who seek a scroll
Trying to reach a whole nation and break the sleeper hold
Not a role model, I walk a hard road to follow
I sold bottles of sorrow then chose poems and novels
The gospel was told, some souls it swallowed whole
Mentally they fold, and they eventually sold
Their life and times, deadly like the virus design
But too, minute to dilute, the scientist mind

You can't party your life away
Drink your life away
Smoke your life away
# your life away
Dream your life away
Scheme your life away
Cause your seeds grow up the same way

[Masta Killa]
A voice cries from the wilderness of the North
A representation of the families that lost one
All victims of incarceration
Or other divisions of the family structure
Youths are injected with serums that leads
To skin irritations, babies being born with
Disfigurations, experimentations
On their faces there bear worry-ations
Of mothers that carry the pain
Of blood stained streets where sisters mourn and wail
Fifth brothers been slain from hails of gun fire
It lightly begins to rain screams of terror
Are hidden by the passing trains
This can't be little Hussein, his uncle cried
As he drops to his nephew's side, holding his cane
Just give me a name, of who has inflicted this
Bitter sickness, and left us to witness

[U-God]
Yeah, yo
Curses from war, innocent blood spills for days
Soothe in godly ways, hands, solemn in praise
Tree of life, more precious than Wu is golden game
The wise self flourish inherit, Halls of Fame
Crime visions in my blood got me, locked in prison
While we die hard living people whine about religion, vision
Blow, spin, and sin and killing what's revealing
It's a never ending battle with no ending or beginning, listen
Zero process, progress, become the hunted
America's most wanted, good life flaunted, want it
Some love the speed, some satisfy a need
Some want to be down, young gun seed, jungle breed
The strong must feed, someone die, someone bleed
One flew astray, and it caught my little seed
Can it be, the ice have us trife life, made me grab the knife
The righteous man was beat with many stripes, pipes
Take in my energy, breath and know the rest
Cause the good die young and the hard die best

You can't party your life away
Drink your life away
Smoke your life away
# your life away
Dream your life away
Scheme your life away
Cause your seeds grow up the same way
Cause your seeds grow up the same way
Cause your seeds grow up the same way

[RZA]
Y'all bitches love dances, and pulling down your pants
While your man's on tour, your spending up his advances
Your friends ain't #, all they do is drink, smoke, and suck dick
The whole projects is trapped in stench
You either high school drop-outs, one to three cop-outs
Fifteen years old, shorty ass and top out
Ninety-nine cent beer drinking pussy stinking
#ing so much your ass and titties start shrinking
New World Order slave trade, minimum wage, Medicaid
Can a devil fool a Muslim nowadays
Inside my lab, I'm going mad
Took two drags off the blunts, and started breaking down the flag
The blue is for the Crips, the red is for the Bloods
The whites for the cops, and the stars come from the clubs
Or the slugs that ignites, through the night, by the dawn
Early light, why is sons fighting for the stripe

[Method Man]
As we dwell through this concrete hell, calling it home
Mama say, take your time young man and build your own
Don't wind up like your old dad
Still searching for them glory days he never had
So many bad want to scheme for American dream, no more kings
The cash rule everything now, we going down
These babies looking up to us, it's up to us
The Million Man March MC's, get on the bus
But envy, greed, lust, and hate, separate
Though the devil mind state blood kin cannot relate
No longer, brothers, we unstable
Like Kane when he slew Abel, killing each other

You can't party your life away
Drink your life away
Smoke your life away
# your life away
Dream your life away
Scheme your life away
Cause your seeds grow up the same way
Cause your seeds grow up the same way
Cause your seeds grow up the same way
