Connor has a lot of give to be taken still....Oilers Management is derelict Chiapet…...you should have found a dog to bury the bone by now....you cannot afford to let RNH sit on Connors wing because Nuge brings so much to the table and the Team has relied on him for so long to quietly do so much....potentially the most under-rated Oiler ever.....but if they did just leave him with Connor we would see Nugey produce better than anyone has to date with McDavid including Leon....Leon defers to Connor but Nugey defers only to the game on the ice....big difference there because eventually RNHs superior puck management skills will rise to the top and it will become obvious to the eye-test that Connor actually belongs on Nuges wing not the way we see it now....I already see it when they play together...Nuge played with Hall so Connors speed doesn't impede him at all....but Nuges game management and momentum control are BETTER THAN CONNERS AND LEONS....and IMHO Leon is tied with Connor in that dept they represent two different styles while Nugey is the best of both worlds.


Gully should have had the defense wayyyy more involved in the offense....Hitch and Gully are from different schools....Gully is more NHS and Hitch is more just Hitch.....by involved I do not mean just banging pucks back into the fray or battlezone either....I mean being a serious goal scoring threat and taking it seriously...takin that risky walk to the inside to become available for Connors passes and BURYING IT...without fear.

You DENY THE LEAFS your blueline...you COME RIGHT AT THEM FULL SPEED AND YOU DRIVE THEM BACK OUT OF YOUR ZONE OVER YOUR BLUELINE....and you hit them in combonation with an immediate high speed transitional attack looking for the breakaways...methinks Reilly will spitup 3-4 breakaways per game on his own and when Babcock tries to adjust he will change his entire System structure...and open himself up to player disconnects.

It is important to have a devestating hitter hovering in the n-zone against Toronto....they play bushleague hockey and flaunt their teflon skin from Bettmans Ref collusion...they need to be remediated iin the N-zone by someone who can throw open-ice hits coming from an E/W direction and CLEAN AND MEAN.....this is desigend for Tavares..... you keep a swingman tight to the boards and you make him deny Tavares his wall-games he needs to use... you deny him the wall.....and then you force him to come out to the middle where you can tag him hard.....Tavares needs to use the wall or the boards to make his style work and so does Mathews and Marner....Tavares and Marner are small ...but Mathews is not and is an extremely easy target...he has used the n-zone like Lindros did but he is a pushover snowflake wimp not anything like Lindros because Mathews has been given special treatment from NHL officials.....Lindros EARNED HIS SPACE....SMASH these guys in the n-zone ...same way....deny them the wall and crush them E/W with open ice hits in the n-zone....a quick transition quickstrike creative offense coming out of a 3 man layered forecheck will shut down Babcocks System immediatly....KISS and he will crumble.

Whats the point of getting rid of the collapse defense when you bring in a no-contact n-zone defense....your backchecking focus is System based and is screwing you up...yes you are on the right side of the puck in the o-zone but you are chronically chasing from behind in all other zones....and when opponents transit the n-zone you are in pursuit mode backchecking and there is NO ONE TO PROVIDE STANDUP IMPACT PLAYACTION STOPPAGES....because....the defense are STAGING just a few feet inside their own blueline up high not collapsing...but refusing to step up and over the blueline and intiate devastating head-on contacts.

You see dummys, the opponents are still consistently penetrating your zone as much as with the collapse defense....because you have allowed the n-zone to become a free-fly zone for your opponents.

Hockey is not a non-contact just stay on the right side of the puck game....Hitch needs to pick up his game now..he has to show his men HOW TO SUPPORT each other when ONE OF THEM has to STEP OUT OF being on the right side of the puck to COMMIT FULLY AND COMPLETELY TO A BODY CHECK....this component has been removed and replaced by a positioning defense....staying on the right side of the puck really means NOT HITTING because when you hit you take a higher risk that after the check your opponents will recover first and will have forced you onto the wrong side of the puck......lol....lol...lol...its like turning a Footbal game into a Flag-Football game.....its the Dubas/Bettman effect in play and NHL hockey is being turned into Flag-Hockey..LMAO...and Don Cherry is to old to bite back now....Olde Donny me boyo needs to recruit Moma2 to take over for 10-15 years or so...the game of NHL Hockey needs an astute all-in defender.
