The justification for the use of the term marriage is equality.

In my humble opinion, one of the main purposes of marriage is reproducing/multiplying . why we, as human, need to be multiplied? The answer is simple: to maintain our existence in the planet. The larger number we have, the bigger chance we avoid our exticntion. I believe, with our limited scie tech related to human reproduction, clone, we may still be exposed toward the danger of extinction.

Now, the term “marriage” here is what makes us different from let’s say animals. Animal mates, the gave birth, and they also take care their babies in basic term as feeding and safety. But human, stand at the top of pyramid evolution, has created “marriage” a system in reproducing with the final purpose is to create a family

In a family, woman plays a role as mother associated with caring and loving, the “tender side”while man plays role as father associated with strength and leadership, the “solid” side. Those Ying and Yang work together creating a parenting partnership which creating family values such as respect, love, loyalty, commitment etc. we can’t deny that our first education start at home and still family hold the key in further stages of our maturity.

Therefore I believe, which also many people believe until this very second that the ideal society comes from the harmonious smaller units that works together (one family toward another) which only possible when they are succeeded in maintaining the family values.

Then we shall define that a good family need a man, a woman, (in term of reproduction and also fulfilling sexual needs in healthy way, mentally and physically) bound by equal and fair commitment (marriage, either by law or religioin, it doesn matter).
I really don’t care whether a man marries another man or woman with another woman. It’s their private but what I don’t understand is what do people expect with gay/lesbian marriage in term of society or humanity. Allow me to point out this way :
1. Gay/lesbi marriage unlike “normal” (I’m sorry if the word “normal” here sounds offending to some people, but I believe gay/lesbians, they arent normal in term of their sexual orientation nd physiological state) marriage cant prevent human from the danger of extiction (how can u expect them to multiple when they only have similar sexual organ)
2. You may say that they can adopt child from poor family thus helping the society but again please consider the kids physical and physiological state later on.

If I may choose what future generation like look in order to continue our human existency, to develop higher level of human civilisation, then I will choose that our children are raised in the best state which is in the family where they can get advantages from both sexes (their mom and dad). Unfortunately, from where I live now, my point of view here is considered as minority.

When you're white, it's easy to not see prejudice, as you see it as figure of speech. When you meet an American, you don't say, oh I have another American friend, I must introduce you. But when you're gay, black or Chinese, it seems to be you're a token friend. "Hey look at me, I am like so socially evolved, I know Puerto Ricans." Come on, it smacks of bigotry!

There aren't any academic studies to rely on, although there’s a Standford one, and many others that gay-activists defend their cases with. I'm happy with that; as I think pulling apart a family in that way is what marginalizes a group. Saying that blind people are inadequate as parents would be prejudiced towards the blind - wait, hold on, we are prejudiced towards the blind - I must check up on that, there must be a study somewhere to discount their parenting ability. Parenting is about giving unconditional love. Whether your children are thrown away Chinese baby girls, or mini-me's of you, you have to have unconditional love. Saying that a study needs to be done to determine whether gays are adequate at parenting, is the biggest load of bigotry. My God! I would rather have a spoilt little Chinese girl living in the cushy comfort of gay couples love, than know that there is no hope for her. Whether they are perfect parents is irrelevant, that they love her is all that anyone could ask for. I am not a gay-activist, I find it intolerable though that gays are so marginalised because of their sexual orientation, they are not less intelligent, less capable, less responsible. This is a human rights issue, people should have the right to the life they choose. Simple!

if, let's say, by instituting gay/lesbian marriage can reduce this threat, then, less would resist, but if it's used for gaining society acceptance and reducing society awareness without showing significant evidence of reducing above threat, i think people have a right to be cautious and to be aware of their steps..

and talking about parenting, no foster parents(whether it's hetero or homo sexual) can ever substitute the bond of blood among the biological parents and their offspring. talking about unconditional love, is there any unconditional love higher and nobler than the love of a mom toward her children, she's willing to risk her life, carrying her baby for 9 months, breastfeeding it for another 1.5 years after delivery. those bond is hardly replaced/substituted by step parents...and talking about homosexual family being foster parents..the number is growing.. however i haven't read any studies related to detailed growth of foster children in a homosexual family form the children perspective concerning issues such as whether children raised in homosexual Households become gay or whether children be teased if they have homosexual parents or whether children be molested by homosexual parents?

300,000 people that's not a very big number compared to the population. As far as the number of people for it. I think is more like people don't realy care about the way two people who care to share there life together should live. I agree this is realy a non issue especially in the future. Love is not confined to a man or a woman did u love your parents growing up? That would mean u love a man and a woman or a man and a man or a woman and a woman. Just a thought

Your Idealism is showing. IDEALISM is a nice word - - not much else. Sometimes it looks good on paper.

Children need love and nurturing. They get that from loving caring parents. The mix of who those parents are is inconsequential.

Loving - nurturing parents - - - and a more accepting society is all that's needed. Children of same gender parents only issue is what comes from prejudice and hate outside their family.

Same gender parents have fought for the right to be parents. They don't take it for granted.

IMO - - the "one man/one woman" argument isn't even worthy of debate anymore.
