The Coalition 4 Marriage set up a petition against the plan, which has so far attracted more than 300,200 signatures. The group is calling on the Government to retain the current definition of marriage as the voluntary union between one man and one woman for life.

His rival campaign, which is backed by the British Humanist Association, the Lesbian and Gay Christian Movement, and other groups, is running its own petition in support of homosexual marriage, which has attracted 33,400 signatures so far.

Gay people shouldn't be allowed to have kids. Not because of the gay behavior but because being gay GOES AGAINST CREATION. When a man and a man or a woman and a woman can have sex and become pregnant then I'll believe it's natural for a gay couple to have kids..

Used to be 1 of the largest "christian" past tense. It has changed many are leaveing the so called "christian" faith, seeing a better alternative a better path and something that escapes those who are still influenced by a failing, self destructive "vatican" & "catholic" "church", being a bigoted "church" has hurt it and turning against having a lesbian priest was a bad bad turn for the so called "church". Many are breaking the chains & seeing the truth, Especially in light of the news story about how the "church" castrated chidren against their will... so much for the holy & righteous.

Then we should just let all those orphaned children rot away in social services, right? A nurturing, loving environment is much better than the chaos of being shifted from foster home to foster home. I agree with you 100% elitegamer23, Libertytolly has yet to make a valid statement. To think here isn't the motto of this website "DENY IGNORANCE" I do believe that is the motto. I'm just not seeing that many denying ignorance, they are being rather ignorant trying to say their "research" or "theories" is right on about a mom and dad are better at raising children, but if you look at the newspapers lately.. that just isn't very true. Then they make a bigoted statement about how a gay or lesbian couple are bad for raising children, I've seen documentaries on the TLC channel that state VERY VERY differently. I saw one about a gay couple who adopted and were raising a daughter very well I might add, plus they were both very financially well off & had a lot of love to give to a child. So some of you might want to do some more RESEARCH before you put out FALSE statements.

This isn't demanding acceptance at all. You can still be a homophobe. They just want to be able to register their relationship under the marriage act. It affects nobody but them. Marriage means many things to different people, so live by your own morality. It's really none of your business.

Because the government does not have a right to be between two people who love each other, simply put.

Marriage licenses only exist because of the actions of the eugenics movement a century ago. Therefore its entire reasoning for existence is based off flawed logic that believes society should have a say in who marries who for the greater good.

That is simply not in tune with western liberal thought.
