Well - - the reality is - - something like 50% of Americans are religious enough to vote for someone like Santorum.

I would definitely be at the voting booth voting against him - - voting for the "lesser of two evils".

Never underestimate the religious vote.

I would normally agree with you but not after this one. Even those that are religious enough to vote for him are guilty of viewing porn they just don't admit it. There was a credit card service that has pretty much come out and said the Red States porn habits are virtually identical to the Blue States. So really I would project that 50% to be much smaller now.

I disagree. Those who shout forget religion, actually faith and politics do not see God's ways bring about a good.

"dead man" walking is a man who follows the evil one, Satan. Everyone
in Hell is naked, those supporting porn will be happy.

Many will even deny it to themselves.

Is Santorum a moron for saying this?

Absolutely!

Do I think the people who vote for Santorum are even more moronic?

Absolutely!

My only assumption here is that his wife caught him looking at some naughty photos from "Jesus camp gone wold!" videos on the Santorum tour bus.

Posted by Colbe - - getting his Atheist/disbeliever digs in: Atheists, disbelievers search and search to find a verse in Scripture they can twist to try and catch God who created them. Such pride. And what are they left with, their own opinion and no love. You gotta change, become humble. Look to who God really is and you will find joy an peace of mind.

A President and Congress can launch illegal wars, impoverish masses, create a police state - they can do just about anything. But take their porn! It would cause a revolution. Maybe we need one anyway.

You may be correct, but it seems that the ones that decided to get into the race this round aren't the brightest bulbs in the box.

Santorum is a weak candidate, he doesn't have that "leader" vibe that the people respond to. He is trying to pander to the right's sense of "morality" that tends to err on the side of religious zealotry.

This idea of banning all porn, and making it illegal is just ridiculous. First of all it would be unconstitutional, violating the 1st amendment. (for some reason, right wingers hate this amendment with a passion.)

Second, it hurts our economy. The porn industry, is in fact, an industry, one that produces nearly 4 billion in revenue.

The Business Of Smut: What Is It Worth?
Adult Video $500 million to $1.8 billion
Internet $1 billion
Pay-Per-View $128 million
Magazines $1 billion
Total $2.6 billion to $3.9 billion
Sources: Adams Media Research, Forrester Research, Veronis Suhler Communications Industry Report, IVD

Source: www.forbes.com...

Just sayin, that if Santorum claims he wants to help the economy, making porn illegal isn't the way to go. That's just not the talk of someone who likes free market enterprise or wants to help create jobs.

Plus - - we probably wouldn't be "talking" on this forum - - cuz we wouldn't have Internet.

Porn is what fueled and kept the Internet going.

Mocking the Christians again,

Hi, I know you weren't talking to me, but I feel the need to interject a few things here.
Is Annee mocking christians, or someone wanting to install a theocracy within the united states and force people to become what should be free choice?

Christians should be avid promoters of the pornographic industry, because so long as they are around, we are all guaranteed free speech. Imagine a future where anything against the current moral norm is outlawed...imagine that future again, but with the growing number of muslims becoming the majority.
Sound familiar? (see early roman christians).
Its unlikely bedfellows, but Larry Flynt did more to push the cause of freedom from (and for) religion and reassure that you will always be able to hold your faith and persuit of personal happiness than any religious leaders in current history.

Now the rest of the post leads to your judgement and vanity.

standing over them with your comment? See you at your particular judgment.

Actually, you won't be the one to judge her. This may come as a shock to you, but you are actually not God...I know, sometimes you can't tell the difference, but really...biblically speaking, your not that dude...therefore, no...you won't be seeing her at her personal judgement (which frankly I believe will, if anything, be her judging herself).
I think Christ said something to that effect..you are judged by the same stick you judge others...not that you should never pass personal judgement of what effects you, but doing it for the world/others in place of God..thats some big boots to fill.
But I am sure with you doing that, you are totally without sin.
so...
caste your stones I suppose, Mr. Flanders.

Jesus said that to a person whom was trying to interrupt his path in life. He didn't say that to sinners actually, he said it to those whom thought they were doing the right thing and in turn trying to guide his life.
Funny when you think about it actually...considering you are far more fitting of whom Jesus was referring to, trying to push your righteousness to guide others on what you see fit for them, than Annee, whom is ultimately allowing people to simply be who they will be.

You should reflect on that...don't get lost in the details and see what the person you follow was actually saying.or not...your choice.

The pharmaceutical industry is doing a-freakin-mazing business, yes.

Flip on a television and watch for a few hours. You will be innundated with commercials about pills to take to wake you up more, or make you sleepy. give you boners, remove anxiety, etc etc etc.

Better living through chemicals I guess is the western culture.

He actually doesn't have to try hard. Simply put, he wants to use existing laws and will probably issue an executive order to define obscenity as anything harder than soft porn..obscenity laws already exist (and is the most gray area ever).
So, he believes XXX porn is already actually covered under law..and will just set it in stone and then fund a sweeping mega program to eradicate it throughout the US.

This is a natural progression of the theocratic agenda

Saturn,

You mean well. The fact is our soul is eternal, you and me will choose Heaven or hell and if you defend an evil mocking those who declare it to be an evil, you will stand before God with your choice. I was addressing a poster saying...

Do not make fun of Christians who object or wish to rid our nation
of pornography. Porn is a scourge, there is no purity in the young
now. Absolutely no innocence.

Have you heard they want to make condoms available to 12 year olds,
in the Springfield, MO school system? It's in the news this morning so
12 is the new 18.

What is it going to take for people to wake up. I know, God's merciful
judgment on our country. Mitigate it. Vote for a man who follows God and not a politician declaring he is now for life when his record shows he isn't.

Saturn,

Actually, I defend choice and self determination.
What religion are you? Doesn't matter, because ultimately anyone not of your specific brand of religion thinks you are an evil.
I would be just as outspoken of a politician trying to blanket ban a religion as I would this...not because I am defending religion (totally not, sort of anti-religion personally), but because people have a right as adults to do as they wish so long as it does not violate anothers liberty in the process.

Jesus was also met with a similar senario...do you think Jesus hung out with the most moral of society? Again, I suggest you stop listening to the tools in the bible (peter, paul) and simply study the life decisions of christ alone..not the ponderings afterwards. Decide for yourself..
Jesus hung out with prostitutes, with the worst of society. Not because he thought it was great mind you...but point is, he wasn't rallying to get prostitution banned...this was the choice from each individual to follow what they wanted.

What you are cheering is very christian, but also very un-christ like...which frankly is the norm for Christians. You are following a religion, and not the teachings of the person theoretically founding it.

I was addressing a poster saying...

Do not make fun of Christians who object or wish to rid our nation
of pornography. Porn is a scourge, there is no purity in the young

As a person of the book, you know full well there is no purity by default..young, old, etc..hense the need for christ.
I would say a 5 year old living in the woods that has not accepted christ is equally as damned as a 14 year old gangster porn freak...there is no little hell, nor a million steps in between according to your religion...a sin is a sin and no sin shall enter into heaven..be it a "minor" sin or major...all are equal. Christ is the only way to get in, period...
but until they accept christ...they are by default, from day 1, a sinner...

Your religion...not mine.
(hense why I find the religion silly mythos..that doesn't even follow christ anyhow..but ok, different subject)

Have you heard they want to make condoms available to 12 year olds,
in the Springfield, MO school system? It's in the news this morning so
12 is the new 18.

My first time was 15. My first opportunity was 13. I was in a well structured home and was going to catholic school.
Are they addressing a problem that is a simple fact? perhaps. Is this new? doubtful. Ask your grandparents what the norm was for men...try to get one that won't save face but actually talk to you about the truth.

What is it going to take for people to wake up. I know, God's merciful
judgment on our country. Mitigate it. Vote for a man who follows God and not a politician declaring he is now for life when his record shows he isn't.

I vote for people whom can pave roads, and keep a country running
I allow Caeser to do as Caesar does. Earth, Politics, is not the domain of God...it is the domain of man..and men shall run it with free will. Individually we can choose to focus on what we want..be it how this is run, or the realization that this is simply an illusion and our true nature is not the daily dealings here.

Why do you think God would give a rats arse? and why do you believe religion requires legislation? Can it not be seen as self evident by its teachings?

take care,

colbe

Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord: the people whom he hath chosen for his inheritance. (Psalms 33:12)

That is a good passage to consider.
You want the Lord to be dictated and morality enforced.
According to your belief, morality comes from Gods mercy, not from mans enforcement.
You, believing that man can enforce morality put man in place of god (not purposefully, but the action is the same).

Rethink your stance. America, nor even anything physical is not taking place of God...so, remove it from the domain of God in your mind to begin with and think with simple logic and reason so we can keep eating and breathing fresh air.

Well, if we are going to take Santorum's last name into consideration, maybe he will ban and make himself illegal.
