Santorum jumps the shark. Pledges to make porn illegal, page 1

Thank you Santorum, for being so concerned about my privates and wanting to dictate to me what I can think of and view in the privacy of my own home.

You know...this whole social conservatism thing..not a big fan overall

Rick Santorum declares war on pornography: I will ban hardcore porn if I’m elected President

"America is suffering a pandemic of harm from pornography," the former Pennsylvania senator writes. "It contributes to misogyny and violence against women. It is a contributing factor to prostitution and sex trafficking."

He demands a crackdown on the distribution of hardcore pornography on the Internet, in addition to material on cable/satellite TV, hotel/motel TV, retail shops and through the mail.

What qualifies as "hardcore" remains unclear.

First it was illegal porn, now its make all hardcore porn illegal, then you enforce it. shut off the net with any naughty bits showing, etc.

How is this guy basically the frontrunner for conservatives? Seriously...someone explain to me the thinking going on here for a fan of Santorum whom also has even a slight understanding of "life, liberty, and the persuit of happiness" Does that only apply if you have social conservative Amish style values, otherwise, too bad?

Santorum's entire campaign has been one long shark-jumping extravaganza, this is hardly the first time he's jumped it. We are talking about the guy who said that if his daughter was involuntarily impregnated (that's the nicest way to say it) he would tell her that the child was a GIFT FROM GOD and force her to carry it to term and give birth to it! We're talking about the guy who conforms LITERALLY to an every-sperm-is-sacred policy and believes that contraception is IMMORAL. Yes that's right, to him having safe responsible sex is the EVIL thing to do.

Honestly my brain hurts just thinking about it. Either the people voting for this guy are entirely ignorant of his positions and policies or my fellow Americans are more misinformed, bigoted, and stupid than I could have possibly ever imagined.

The fact that he's still in this race, that Romney hasn't totally crushed him, is absolutely astounding. An Obama reelection is hardly the ideal choice for 2012 but at least Obama is intelligent and sane enough to make a case for himself, whereas every time I hear Santorum open his mouth it's just a lot of verbal, well, verbal Santorum.

Yes, child porn is illegal. There should not be one child porn site up and running, but you know they're there. If they were serious about cracking down on it, they'd be arresting everybody, yet it goes on.

Regarding violent S&M, I'm talking about brutal stuff. Not your average whips and butt slaps. I'm talking about stuff that is seriously degrading to women.

I really don't care if you agree with my views or not. I'm a woman and I've never had a man complain while watching porn with me.
